Recently I dropped my mobile phone in the toilet. I took it to the Virgin kiosk in Southland and was told that it was dead and I needed a new phone. I asked the guy if he could import my contacts from the old phone to the new one but he said "no". I took the old phone home, put it into a bag of rice and it is as good as new. I had to get a friend to import contacts for me. Really disappointed as there was need to get a new phone at all.

Pros: value for money, fast optus 4g network, international calls/text/mms included, unused credit rollover

Have been happy enough with the service, Im on a pre paid service so it makes it better for me as I don't use the mobile a lot. Sometimes the coverage is not that good but it is better than it used to be

I signed up with virgin for two years when I bought my first iPhone and I will never use them again. They were very unreasonable and the service was shocking. I ended up going to the ombudsmen and got out of my contract.

I just went through hell with them,also had to call ombdusmen, they are worst telecomunicatin company on planet, so I am not the only one with awful eperience

Customer service is poor due to language barrier and not being able to think outside the box they live in.

Promotions are really good and virgin have good deals and value for money.reception and data speed is good and never have to wait when u call their contact centre but you do have to pay to call for help.

Phone service is cheap with them, but what's the point of having any service, cheap, or even free, if people can't call you, important calls drop out, in fact any and nearly all calls drop out. This coming from someone making calls when very close to the CBD, and inner city, where coverage should be at it's strongest. Staff seem to dodge this problem consistently. I would hate to be out in the country and try this. It can't be that hard to get good reception can it?

We switched to Virgin to save money with the free 'Virgin to virgin' calls, but on prepaid, I didn't seem to get anything for the credit I bought, which only lasted 1 month with no rollover.
For a casual/light phone user, it was a big waste of money and a puzzle of ever changing complex recharge options.

I, too, had been with them for seven years. The modem kept having to be rebooted, slow connection replacement modems were delivered to some courier base a good hours drive away. When I moved they refused to recognise my new house as a valid address and was told I'd have to go elsewhere. Ungrateful and rude to the max. They also talked over the top of me until I had to yell at them to "shut up and listen to me". I'm well rid of them

I found these guys the worst of all that I tried. The reception was crap where I was ay Oyster Bay. I asked to have the phone disconnected after spending an hour on the phone trying to get customer assistance. After dissconnecting the service and paying allmonies they sent me a new bill every month in excess of 300 dollars.Everytime i got this bill I would have to spend between 40 mins to an hour sorting it out on the phone...next month the same thing would happen. This was so frustrating. avoid these guys at all costs.

Have been with Virgin mobile for a few years (a few too many) and when I travel have trouble logging into my voicemail on which I depend for business. The system works on and off erratically. When calling from overseas to correct, I get argumentative people who do not listen and talk over me. Each time it took hours of multiple calls to reach anyone that could help. This has cost me $100s of dollars of lost income without an apology and a no give a damn attitude. Additionally, reception is pretty bad in too many areas in Melbourne. I suggest avoiding Virgin Mobile like the plague that they are.

I have been with Virgin Mobile and Virgin Broadband for over a year now and find their service always good. They are the go to guys when I can't work my smart phone and are always happy to take time out to fix what I have broken on my phone.
I had trouble with my broadband at some stage so was advised to send in the modem for replacement. The one i got back was even better.
I like there rates and as my husband is also with Virgin it is free to call or text each other.

I had to get a new mobile phone because I was leaving my job and had to relinquish my business one. The boy at Virgin in Swanston Street was really friend an helpful. He spent about an hour and a half with me and downloaded all the info I needed for me so I wouldn't have to do it. Wish I could remember his name - I've referred a few people on to him.

Virgin is fantastic. I've been with them on prepaid for around eight years and have six mobiles on virgin - simply becuase they often have great deals where it costs as much to get a new phone with credit as it does to top up your current one! Extra phones never go astray. Their prepaid plans have a lot of option; free text virgin to virgin is great f you have kids and 'motormouth' packs for those who talk a lot. They have some great cap deals; around $400 of credit on a $29 CAP which lasts thirty days. Never had a problem getting through when need customer service and they have great little things like a number to call if you need to 'get out of a situation' - they talk you through it and tell you what to say!! Virgin are awesome on prepaid deals and service. Stress free, cheap, reliable, consistent.

I've been using Virgin mobile on a contract for over 3 years. (Yes I renewed) and now we have a working Optus tower I can't complain at all. Service is good and the plans are better value for money than the other 2 available big providers. We don't get Vodafone or 3 here so I can't add them in to compare.

I was with virgin for 2 years under contract I was really disappointed with customer service, and mobile coverage. I would not recommend virgin to anyone

I have used Virgin Mobile form the past 2 years now. My mobile calls drop out frequently until I notify Virgin Mobile again. You need to complain about their service before anything is done to your expectation. They are in the end interested in customer loyalty, at least some of their staff are anyway. If you are willing to put up with call drop outs would recommend.

I've been with Virgin Mobile for several years and I've found them to be very good value for money. I have prepaid mobile, and they have a good range of plans and the flexibility to switch between plans online very easily. The coverage doesn't quite come up to Telstra standards at times, but since I don't walk around with my phone stuck to my ear constantly, it doesn't really affect me.

The actual mobile plans etc are great, as long as nothing goes wrong such as when a phone is lost it took 10 days to block the lost SIM and 4 weeks to get the new sim working (problem at their end) although they gave $80 discount in the end, but that only paid for all the calls i had to make and the many hours spent on the phone. Other than that they are ok.

I recently signed up with virgin and the really impressed with their customer service. I was previously with Telstra and was really agitated with their service. Virgin is really leading the way for customer service and value for money

I should have known better before signing up for a mobile contract with Virgin - I've suffered through their Broadband access for two years.
Terrible service - I ask questions at their helpdesk (online) and get told that it's not their problem. Repeatedly. Well, since I'm asking how to set up YOUR mobile which YOU sent me so I can use YOUR internet on it, well think they might help a little don't you? Even once I've got the internet set up properly on my phone (by myself, may I add), it barely works. I mean, it's worked twice in 6 months. C'mon.
Reception is terrible - no matter where I am. The phone connection drops out constantly. Sometimes I can't even get a connection to start with. Most of the time I can't hear the person on the other end.
My friends and family all understand my Virgin jokes. When I'm standing next to them and they say something I don't want to hear (like, it's your turn to shout us, or, you need to wash up) then I say, "Sorry, I'm on Virgin" and they all understand it means that I can't hear them! Ha ha.
The only thing Virgin do properly is send out a bill. Once my contract is over, never again Virgin.

I am with Virgin and I can not fault the service and the product. $19.00 no contract and $450 worth of calls every month. Can't fault them. Optus on the other hand.........

Store people were fine to deal with, connection in Adelaide is FAR BETTER than 3 and vodafone. However sometimes it takes a while for the internet to load. Customer service is great though. I've been with them for 4 months and have been pleased.

I am on the Bean Counter plan, which gives you great 10 cent a minute calls, & 10 cent texts. This credit lasts for 45 days, so long as you top up before the end of your 45 days. Virgin sometimes have a cliche in their system, where they top up your account before the expiry. This was my gripe.

Currently been with Virgin for about 3 years. Love their capped plans. Any problems that I have had have been quickly sorted. Main problem is that their call centre is overseas, which can make it difficult to understand the people that you are talking to - but this seems to be the norm for most places these days anyway.

Ive had problems with my phone but thats a manufacturers fault, the staff at Virgin have always helped me out and fixed alot of my problems on the spot, no questions asked

I dont use a mobile phone as much as most - I prepay with Virgin and find their rates very competitive especially doing it on the net. Once when I lost my phone they were very helpful with their advice.

i bought a "VIRGIN MOBILE" brand "VMX" prepaid phone with for $39 about a month ago and its great, and it even has a colour screen, 3G internet, 2 megapixel camera, so i dont know why anyone would want to buy any other phone. it works really well and i only spend $29 your cap and get heaps of prepaid credit and free talk and text to my husband (hes with virgin mobile).
i switched from optus, who i have had the same number with for nearly 9 years to get this deal. i did not find any other providers who included internet for as cheap as $30 and free talk and text. this is great
