Just had a long longed for Indian meal - I am washing it down with a beer and have a smile. It isn't the best Indian food ever but it is was enjoyable and not a bad price. The guy who served was very friendly and the turn around was reasonably quick. I used to go to Kadai but they have gone down hill since John was there.

Don't get me wrong the food in this place is great - the cumin pork ribs leave your mouth in a state of shock at the combination of flavors... also the beans at lunch for $9 are enough alone to even make this carnivore happy... where this place falls down is the dumplings which I had to spit out and the waitress said other people liked them so she didn't care and just laughed uncomfortably and walked away. Also they make you pay extra for eftpos or CC and only above a fairly high amount... guess cash business is preferable in this line. I will order the beans again, I will order the pork at some stage but only because I can't be bother going back into the CBD for the better quality Sichuan alternatives.

Just stopped by as I was waiting to get my iphone fixed and figured I had time for a coffee. I like coffee - I like coffee shops and this place does coffee really well. So often you go to a coffee shop and get a latte and they give you the cup and that's it - this place came with a water and a little cookie. It doesn't cost much to go the extra mile but the difference it makes is extraordinary in how you remember a place. The waiter was friendly and the coffee was great. Looking forward to going back for the food

No joining fees, good equipment, and no crappy signing contracts that last decades and direct debit every month. This is a great gym and the guys and girls there are fantastic - they give you a complete assessment even when you only join for a month and walk you through the program. I was with fitness first and although it was shinier - this gym is much more accessible and friendly. Well done to Dom and the guys and girls there - keep up the good work.

Had to stay here for work for nearly 2 weeks and gotta say that I enjoyed it lots but not because of Spring Hill Mews as such. The room was clean and functional. I cooked lots and it provides a better alternative when staying longer than a few over a typical hotel room. It is also very close to everything - if you don't have a car, it's really good. The lady who works in the office is not exactly the most customer centric person you would find however she does her job well and if you try, she tries. The pool is quite small but it was bloody cold so no go there - there are also lots of eateries around and if you find yourself a little tipsy or outright pissed in the city, the walk home isn't bad.

Nice food - the thai red beef was very good, the fish was nice and the spring rolls were good. There was no hassle with the bottle of BYO and the staff were effective given the place was full (as usual). I have been there a few times - it's just a nice place to go for quality Vietnamese / Thai food.

I went to the Blackburn Hotel last night simply because it was close and I remembered it fondly from years ago – I haven't been there in probably a decade or more. So aesthetically it looks like most other pubs, but boy is this place overpriced.

We ordered the chicken Kiev - $26 plus a pint $8.90 with a side order of fries ($5). There were no smiles from the staff, at best they were functional though some were simply indifferent and keen to finish for the day – understandable but this is a place of business.

The chicken came and it was simply a fillet cut down the middle with ham and cheese inside then crumbed and deep fried into oblivion. It was served on a bed of rice with a lump of garlic butter thrown on top which melted into it. There was a separate salad on the side. This chicken was extremely dry, overcooked – I got the impression that it was precooked and then thrown back into the fryer before being served. Chicken Kiev is comfort food typical of what you should find in a pub – it should ideally be very tender and when you cut into it, the butter should ooze out of the centre and serve as sauce to accompany the different textures.

If this was a standard pub meal at $15 I wouldn't bother making this post however it was $26 – I have been to restaurants right across Melbourne where $26 will get you a decent meal with table service and a professional helpful waiter and not a dried up piece of crap disguised as food.

Well let's just say that I didn't even bother to complain to them because quite simply I wouldn't ever consider eating there or indeed visiting there again even if it was free. If you are thinking of going for a quick pub meal around this area I would honestly suggest you avoid this place – the costs were totally out of proportion to quality of the food served. Bloody disgraceful place.

I love this place - the first time I went, we made the mistake of ordering a main course each... let's just say that there was lots left over. The servings are huge, the taste great and its just casual... Great night out

I love this place, I have coffee here a few times a week and their almond croissant is wonderful... Also indulged last Thursday and had eggs florentine... Very good and not too expensive. They do sell beer and liquor at great prices so it's worth a visit if you are in box hill
