A great service in this area - if you have large and troublesome items which include metal, you can get free removal of car bodies, white goods no longer needed or working, even potentially dangerous items like old batteries - these are things you can't dispose of safely anywhere else. You can also drop off at their depot as another option.

We had a whole pile of old roofing corrugated iron which would have been very difficult as well as time consuming and costly to move. One call to Tom had the problem solved. He communicated to us when he'd be able to pick up and was adaptable enough to be able to collect and negotiate a farm gate without assistance.
Good service and a nice feeling to know you are helping to recycle these materials - he even keeps the best bits for that odd repair to a chook or milking shed when you don't want a new piece. Great local business.

This is a new shop for me, although the serving girl told me they'd been there about 6 months. Aunt Lil's have some amazing baked goods like cinnamon pretzels and fancy breads and danishes and wonderful coffee. But today it was the frozen yoghurt (also make smoothies and milkshakes) that won me over. This is in a new bar near the stairs down to the next level. It's a self serve operation but there is a very lovely staff member to help you out. Choose your cup size and then from about 8 flavours of this creamy and too-yummy-to-be-really-healthy goodness - like mango, berries, salted caramel etc. Then it's over to the toppings bar - cocoanut, M and M's, grenola, passion fruit pulp, raspberries, Kit Kats, marshmallows ... and lots more. Load up what you want but not too much cause it's pay by weight. My small cup with two flavours and about 4 toppings was $5.15. Very delicious I must say, and it's service with a smile too. Will certainly be sampling this again.

This review is for Crust, Bendigo VIC

Firstly, must say a big thumbs up to Crust in Bendigo for being one of the very few food shops open on a Monday night latish while coming home from a country trip. We were very hungry after a long drive and weren't in the mood for some of the fancier offerings they have (think Moorish Lamb or Kimchi BBQ chicken) - bit more upmarket than your normal pizza shop (with prices to match). But to us it was like an oasis in the desert and our Margharita and Hawaiian pizzas at $16 were just the thing to put us back on the road. Taste and toppings fine, maybe not the best I've ever had but certainly worth a try. And if you're adventurous you could sample some of the other menu options.

This review is for Williamstown Acquarium, Williamstown VIC

Fish for Christmas? Yes, but not the edible variety. My son's long held dream of becoming an aquarium owner finally came true this year. Figuring Santa would have had too much trouble getting it down the chimney, we installed it today. At Williamstown Aquariums - which is a HUGE factory/showroom type place in the industrial area of Kororoit Crk Rd, they have everything you could with for in the fish world. A starter tank with filter, plant, submarine, gravel etc is around $60 but their advice is priceless. I had gotten some other advice from somewhere else and didn't think this sounded right, so came to the experts here. They have all the chemicals for keeping your tank healthy like water conditioners and special natural bacteria which your fish need to have in the tank. There is a wide range of tanks, lights, equipment and of course, the most beautiful and stunning fish and plants you can imagine. It's like an Aladdin's cave of sealife in there. Of course they cater for freshwater or tropical.
Trading Hours: Monday CLOSED, Tuesday - Friday 10:30am - 5:30pm, Saturday 10:30am - 5pm, Sunday 11am - 4pm.
Make sure you go here, not only do they stock everything but they know what they are talking about and stand behind what they sell.

This review is for Goje Frozen Yoghurt, Yarraville VIC

Delicious and different! There are various flavours of frozen yogurt to choose from - I was so conflicted, I couldn't choose and staff were very friendly and obliging and let me try a few different ones. Then you can choose your own toppings ranging from banana bread to kiwi fruit in sort of the fashion of the old dessert bar at pizza places. The fruit flavours and combinations were just divine. Also have other dessert treats they are introducing. Right now are having special tastes each day in a 12 Days of Christmas type of thing. Priced by the 100g for $3, I ended up spending about $6. For a special treat, you've got to try it. Seating in and out so you can watch vibrant Yarraville trading going on and check out what other shops you want to visit.

If you are into whole foods, eating healthily and maintaining "wellness" through food, then this is your place. They have organic juices, fermented teas, and the most amazing super smoothies bursting will goodness and natural ingredients.

Their prices are a little high but this is specialty stuff - the "Be Awakened" has espresso, banana, raw vanilla protein powder and almond milk. There are about 7 of these - with a different list of ingredients, but along the same lines. They offer the freshest ingredients and where possible use local and fair-trade suppliers. At $9 they'd want to be good and they are!
Also have recipes and promote a healthy living philosophy. "Mini" serves for children.

Their motto is DREAM. LAUGH. NOURISH. SHINE.
Open - MON - FRI 6.30am - 4.00pm
SAT & SUN 7.30am - 4.00pm
Do your body a favour and drop in some time and then check out some of the other trendy shops in this unique hub in Yarraville.

This shop is situated in the food court so the surroundings are pleasant and seating available. It may not be the absolutely authentic Japanese experience but the food is plentiful and good value. The staff were pleasant and helpful when choosing menu items and they can get very busy in this location.
The small fried rice and teriyaki chicken sticks for around $8 satisfied my hunger and my friend had one of the more complicated ramen noodle dishes and said it was enjoyable.
For a plentiful quick meal, it's a worthwhile place to go.

These guys are awesome. Five stars for Coolness! They have a range of unheard of amazing toys and gadgets and their website is well set up as well as having a physical store in Tasmania. They answered emails promptly when one of my items wasn't available yet, asking me if I wanted the rest sent or held onto. As soon as it was in stock, they let me know and the parcel was delivered a couple of days later with tracking information. I even got a free gift for ordering over $50 worth.

They are amusing and obviously enjoy what they sell - signing emails as "Professor of Gadgetology". LOL

My little boy is going to not believe his eyes when he sees his Back to the Future Delorean model (among other things). If you want TV or movie stuff - this is absolutely the place to go. As well as a whole heap of funny and weird stuff. It was also packed very nicely in a box with foam widgets so nothing was in danger of being damaged.
Maybe some things are a little pricey but for rareness, that's what you expect.
Would highly recommend.

This review is for Jim & Sophie's Fish & Chips, Blackburn South VIC

verified email - 13 Dec 2014

Definite thumbs up for Jim's Fish and Chips. I love me some traditional fish and chips and this shop provides a great example of that. Fish is always cooked fresh daily with the best crispy thin batter = yum! Flake is $6 but you can get special extra large flake for $6.80. Great for when you're really hungry. A medium chips at $5.50 is a good generous portion and the dim sims are always cooked so nicely (not overcooked) and at .80c are cheaper than some other places. Very nice souvlaki's and burgers also.

The shop is extra clean and nice and so are the staff - well, they're nice and I suppose clean too. LOL

Specials such as 4 flake, potato cakes, dim sims and $4 chips at $33.00 is a great deal and if you want to pretend to be healthy you can get a small or large Greek salad ($5 or $9) to go with it.

They say they've had 38 years of experience and I'm inclined to believe it. There are other fish and chips shops in this suburb and some more even in this street, but Jim's is the best.

Went with a group of people for a farewell function - around 15 and had a very pleasant meal here. Service a little slow (maybe inexperienced?) at times but it's a nice location and the atmosphere is great. Large range of menu to choose from including Italian of course and I had a lasagne which was quite good (not stunning) but large and $14 so certainly got money's worth. Other items include shanks, parmas, steak sandwiches, warm chicken salad and pizzas of course.

A range of foods was ordered and most seemed happy with their choices. Wine and beer is available but maybe a bit pricey. I stuck to soft drink. Lovely chance to walk around this picturesque street (watch out for the pay parking at meters though) opposite the gardens and water and there's always all those wonderful ice cream shops for dessert. Oh my goodness!
Would come here again to try something different, maybe with the rest of the family, - they seem to offer lunch time specials.
