I was very impressed with the service, décor and food in this restaurant. It is fairly new and maybe a bit underrated, but you should really try it. The group I was with stayed really late, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Very nice setting and décor both indoor and outdoor dining. Great selection of cakes. Only looks small from the front but is actually really quite big. The rooms can be a little poky as I think the building is very old. A great place to go for summer breakfast. The take a walk down the creek at the back.

This review is for Sally's Tradies And Ladies Cafe, Beaconsfield Upper VIC

Was quite happy with the experience here, coffee but good, but gave me some sort of weird potato cake that was not edible. The homemade food looked appetising but didn't try it. I did think the prices were a bit dear. The idea of the name is the tradies sit outside and the ladies sit in a decorated room with a chandelier. Other stuff also for sale in this rom like clothes and ornaments - interesting

This review is for Cosy &Tasty Chinese Dumpling Restaurant, Frankston VIC

A little hidden gem of a restaurant that you don't really notice. But one day I did and was very pleased. I've never had chinese dumplings before but these were great and very reasonably priced. They taste very fresh and have very interesting flavours and sauces. Its a pity I don't live nearby or I would go there all the time.

Beautiful location for a restaurant - sitting there looking over the sea. I haven't been thrilled with the food or service. Not particularly friendly or anything particularly interesting menu wise. But I have returned for the whole experience and also lack of other good restaurants in the area. If you don't want to go far, go to Waves

This review is for Emerald Village Bakery & Cafe, Emerald VIC

This is not a standard bakery, it is way more. There is a complete collection of cakes, biscuits and gourmet food as well as lunch items. The place has just been fully renovated end 2012 and looks great - maybe a Byron Bay feel. I have gone there many times as a trip out in itself. Only negs - can be very packed on weekend peak times - often have live music but way too loud for the venue

This review is for Pizza E Cucina, Berwick VIC

verified email - 05 Aug 2013

My favourite pizza shop - the pizza is great here, not like normal thick crust with same old toppings. The pizza e cucina toppings are creative and unusual, but I think the best part is their bases - thin and crispy. You can also eat in with a bottle of wine and we all know how well wine goes with pizza - you should try this place. A little dearer than other pizza shops, but probably due to them buying quality ingredients.

This review is for Beaconsfield Fish & Chips, Beaconsfield VIC

This is the only fish and chip shop I now go to. All the other ones in the surrounding area do not compare. Price and fast service are top here, but the main thing is the fish which they do to perfection. I have never had a bad meal at Beacy Fish and Chips.

This review is for Walrus Chinese Restaurant, Springvale VIC

verified email - 05 Aug 2013

Going to Walrus is an authentic experience. The special fried rice is amazing. I don't know how they do it, but I have gone out of my way to get it a few times. It costs more than other chinese restaurants, but definitely worth it. Very busy on weekend nights and rather crammed in with everyone. But I guess it is part of the experience.

What an amazing setting this restaurant is in. My favourite thing to do is go there for lunch on a warm summer day and sit on the deck. In the far distance you can even see ships in Westernport bay. Afterwards you can walk through the very interesting garden. A great meal is also provided and friendly service. The owner's run the place and see to it that everyone is happy.

Approximate cost: $28
