This review is for Aussie Discount Meats, Kings Meadows TAS

I use to shop here on a regular basis when living in kings Meadows. They are one of the cheapest butchers around launceston. the only meat i wouldnt buy from there is the sides of lamb as i have always found it to be rather chewy. Other than that i have never had a problem with their other meat. We use to buy a heap of their peppered steaks as they were really cheap. From what i can remember it was around $2 a piece. What i liked the most about it was that when you walked in it was really cold in there so you knew there was no way your meat could get hot and go off. I did find that store did look dirty as it had concrete floors but that could be because people had walked in with dirty shoes on before i got there.

I have brought fish from here a couple of times and found the fish to be really fresh. The prices are a little bit dearer than buying from the supermarket but i like to know im getting fresh and good quality seafood so i dont mind paying the extra to get it. I found the staff are quite knowledgeable when it comes to their products and were helpful when it came to me choosing what i wanted. I did find that they weren't very friendly though. My favourite fish to buy from here would be their blue grenadier which is caught locally.

Hick's butchery is the main butchers we shop at. There meat is always so fresh. The normal price for their meat is quite reasonable but they also have specials on everyday where you can pick some really cheap meat. My daughter loves their mini honey soy kebabs which we can get for $2.99 for 5 of them. As well as meat they also sell some pasta salads which are made up fresh daily. I love their seafood salad...it is so popular that if you dont get there early it is normally sold out by lunch time. The staff are really helpful and will make up items for you if there is none on the shelves. Store is well set out and all prices are easily seen.

This review is for Targetts Schoolwear & Footwear, Launceston TAS

I have been shopping at targetts for the last 11 years and had always thought the service was ok but the last 2 times i have shopped there i have found the staff to be a quite rude. It is like they do not want to serve you unless you are spending quite a bit. The last time i went there i only went into buy my daughter some blue school socks and i waited to be served for good 5 minutes while the two staff were talking about what they were going to do on the weekend. I found this quite rude. In saying that they do stock good quality clothing and shoes. I brought my daughters first pair of school shoes from there and they lasted nearly 3 years which i thought was really good. But they do charge a bit more than a lot of other shops.

This review is for Oke's Toy Warehouse, Shepparton VIC

verified email - 21 Nov 2012

I have only been to Oke's toy warehouse once which was at the start of this year. I had never heard of it before and just happened to stumble upon it when taking a wrong turn. My daughter loved walking around having a look at the huge range of toys they sell. On top of toys they also sell nursery/baby items as well as party decorations. The store is quite big and well set out. You could spend hours browsing the store. What i loved the most about it is that outside they had a big fenced area that had all the bigger items they sell there for the kids to play on to try. They had cubby houses, huge forts, slides, swings, trampolines and heaps more. The area is fenced and has a child safety gate so the kids can have a play while you browse or while you sit and have a rest after all the shopping. I think this is a great idea as the parents get to see if the item would be suitable for their kids and the size instead of looking at a catalogue and hoping for the best. And also all items are priced so no more shocks when asking staff. The staff were helpful and were walking around the store helping customers. Only problem now is that my daughter is always asking to go to oke's whenever we go to shepparton.

This review is for Salamanca Market, Hobart TAS

verified email - 19 Nov 2012

i have been to the salamanca market 2 times while staying in Hobart and didnt like it both times. I had heard so many people saying how good it was but i found it quite boring and over crowded. A lot of the stalls were local produce, crafts and multi-cultural clothing and jewellery which was all over priced. I did enjoy going into the little alleyways which you could find a few people selling their homemade items really cheap. We brought a bubble rope from a man in one of the alleyways for $6 and my daughter spent hours playing with it. I loved that he let the kids play with some he had set up. I dont think i would go back to salamanca market again

This review is for Calabrisella Restaurant, Launceston TAS

verified email - 19 Nov 2012

We went here for a birthday party last year and was very disappointed with the food and service. The function room was small which meant everyone was knocking each other when ever someone got up. The restaurant was also very small which meant every time you wanted to go outside you had to push past people while they ate their meals. I found the staff to be a bit impatient while we were choosing what we wanted. The pizzas had hardly any topping on them and werent very nice. The glasses that came out weren't overly clean either. I dont think i would eat here again

This review is for Remia Hair Studio, Riverside TAS

I took my daughter here to get her hair done for her grade 6 leavers dinner last year and was very impressed with the service we got. The hairdresser was really nice and was very helpful with what hairstyles would suit my daughter. She was so patient with us while we looked at hair styles in magazines. After she finished my daughters hair she asked if we liked it and if we didnt she would start all over again. My daughters hair looked beautiful. I was surprised at how cheap they were as well...It only cost us $34 for my daughter to have her hair cut and put up which i thought was really good for how long it took. We left there extremely happy and would go back again.

Over the last 3 years i have shopped serenity quite a few times. My daughter and I love going in to see all the different gemstones, crystals and salt lamps they stock. We have brought a lot of gemstones from here. We also like looking at the Buddhism items. Serenity stocks a huge range of items from all different cultures including clothing, books, gemstones, gifts, jewellery and heaps more. They also offer workshops, massage and readings. Their products are great value and quality and the staff are always willing to help with your inquiries. The store is well stocked but not to overcrowded

This review is for Tunzafun Amusement Park, Mulwala NSW

Tunzafun is an excellent place for families to go for a fun day out. We have been there a few times since moving to mulwala and have always enjoyed ourselves. You can have a go at mini golf, dodgem cars, trampoline and also for the littler kids there is a mini train and the flying chairs. Most of this is undercover so you can still go when it is raining. It opens on weekends and during school holidays it is open everyday. It is an excellent low cost and fun thing for all ages
