Whenever I need a taxi I phone Adelaide Independent. These guys take pride in their cabs because they own their own vehicles, and are always friendly and know where they are going! Great company.

This place hand washes (and dries) your car while you relax. They have a cafe, kids play area, free wi fi, and even a spa capsule! It was very relaxing to watch somebody else wash my car while I chilled with a cappucino and a magazine! Great idea for a gift voucher for someone too. Highly recommended (and affordable).

Lily did my hair and make up for my wedding last year, as well as for my 2 bridesmaids. She was happy to come to our motel room on the day, and got there early, which was good, because it took ages. I chose her because she did both hair and make up, it's hard to find somebody who specialises in both. She was very patient as we tried to figure out what styles we wanted and very supportive, showing us lots of pictures and make up ideas. A very professional lady and a great result on my wedding day!

This review is for Camelot Castle, Basket Range SA

I can't give enough praise to this place. We had our wedding there last year. We chose it because it allowed us to have our ceremony, photos, reception and accommodation all in the one place without running around all over town, and inconveniencing our guests. It was also the height of summer, and the Adelaide Hills are always a few degrees cooler on a 35 degree day! The grounds of Camelot are immaculate - perfect for photos. The chapel is unique and lovely, and when you get married there, you get a permanent plaque put up inside the chapel to commemorate your wedding. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it. There were also a lot of extras they organised for us - the decorations and flowers and candles they put out without us having to arrange it with them, a German congratulations song they sang while they brought out a plate of food covered in sparklers, and all the personalised service. Our accommodation was really nice and very affordable. It really is like being a guest in a castle!

Adelaide Impressions have been around for years. They are a great company because of their personalised service, flexibility, friendliness, attention to detail, professionalism, and promptness and reliability. I hired them for our wedding last year. They arrived early to pick us up, and even let us stop for a loo break on the way! The driver was very friendly and talking to him helped to calm my nerves. They have some beautiful vehicles - I hired the Statesman which was lovely, but they also have a classic Ford Galaxie, Jaguars, and a mini bus too. Frequent clients can also get a Corporate Card, which gives you discount and quicker bookings. I wouldn't hesitate to use their service again.

This review is for Helava Jet Boat, Glenelg SA

The Helava (hell of a) jet boat road is an awesome and unforgettable experience. It's almost like getting into a speed boat with a mad uncle who wants to do show off and do 'water wheelies' in the waters of Holdfast Shores! It's a lot of fun on a windy day with biggish waves. I would recommend that you don't have a big meal before going on the boat, unless you are used to wild and crazy rides. Anybody can go on - young and old, but you may get a bit of whiplash the next day, as the boat jerks around fairly intensely as it does its stunts. It's a 20 minute ride, which doesn't sound like much, but believe me, out there, it's plenty! Plus they have a kicking soundtrack playing in the boat too!

This review is for Brighton Caravan Park, Kingston Park SA

verified email - 30 May 2010

Brighton Caravan Park is tucked away inbetween a cliff and the sea - it makes you feel like you're no longer in the suburbs of Adelaide and it's great for some time out from the hustle and bustle, while not being far from everything you need. The thing I like about them is their big range of accommodation types - everything from the beautiful deluxe spa suites, which have little verandahs you can enjoy a drink and a sunset from, to budget cabins with just the bare basics, but you're only metres from the beach, and also caravan sites. I liked staying in those because I could hear the sound of the waves at night just over the dunes. They even have a special cabin with ramp access for disabled guests. I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the place and you can really switch off and recharge next to the gorgeous beach.

Jen makes beautiful jewellery out of pearls from her home. She gives the proceeds to charity. We bought an octopus pendant she made out of pearls and shells - very intricate and well made and affordable.

Mel is a very talented and creative woman. She makes amazing cakes and takes on any suggestions or requests - plus she will use decorations you provide yourself such as ornaments or ribbons. She did our wedding cake and it was just gorgeous, and affordable.

A brilliant cafe for any Marilyn Monroe fan. A really relaxed place, filled with Marilyn memorabilia including pictures on the walls and books on the tables. They also make beautiful hot chocolate. And then you can go for a walk down Brighton Beach!
