Gorgeous gardens. It's a shame the beauty of the location is spoiled by the rudeness of the staff. The staff appear to be living out some kind of extraordinary 'Brighton comes to Eltham' fantasy and clearly young mums are not the desired clientele. We were rudely told several times that our table was reserved in half an hour and not allowed to move to the only table that wasn't reserved because the pram wouldnt fit (not true at all). We were given no other options, so ended up standing outside talking until it began to rain. Can't say we'll be rushing back to do that again. Food is ok but overpriced and not worth the attitude.

Heide is a beautiful setting and has so much potential for a wonderful restaurant. I don't think this is it. The lunchboxes are ridiculously tiny (recently price has risen from $15 to $18). For $18 would it be that hard to make the roll a tiny bit larger? It's all very cute providing youre not hungry. Coffee is very average, which is annoying as there's nowhere else to go on the premises. On weekends there's not much chance of getting in without a booking and a looong wait for coffee. Heide needs another cafe to cope with demand (and one that actually sells something substantial). If you're going with children, make sure you pack lunch!

I called Krys from Baby Harmony because I wanted to learn baby massage to help calm my 8-week old baby. Krys was fantastic! She came to my house (even though it was a little outside her usual zone) and was a calming influence amongst all the craziness of learning to deal with a newborn. Baby massage proved to be a valuable way to get to know my baby. In addition, it was great having someone non-judgmental to talk to in the early days AND she brought Timtams!! Highly recommended.

I did the 1500 calorie program for about 2 months. I didn't lose any weight to speak of. The food was ok to start with but after a while all tasted the same and I stopped being able to eat it. Also the fact that you had to microwave the frozen meals for 10+ mins put me off - had to wonder how many nutrients were left. Also the quality of the fruit was terrible so ended up throwing almost all of it out.
The only place I could find in Melbourne that I would happily leave my dogs. Gorgeous pristine grounds and nice accommodation. The thing that sold me was the lengthy exercise and playtime they give the dogs each day. Other kennels I looked at offered 10 minutes exercise and charged extra for more time! Not expensive compared to other 'resort' style pet accommodation. And more than worth it for the peace of mind (you can call and they will put your dog on the phone ao you can say goodnight - not that I did it haha!)
This purely grass fed beef has amazing flavour. Forget about supermarket 'grain finished' beef (read 'put in feedlot for fast fattening'). These guys prove that independent producers can produce fantastic quality product and treat their animals well at the same time.
We visited on a weekday arvo and were the only customers. Staff were friendly enough but the whole place had a slight air of neglect. No food available except for scones, which was kind of strange. Coffee ok but not great. Might be better at mealtimes but don't think we'll be rushing back to find out!

Finally! A funky cafe in the North! This place is excellent for breakfast or lunch. Great service, good coffee and delicious brownies. Popular with families - they are very helpful with kids. Highly recommended.

Best coffee in Monty. Don't be misled by the name - they do more than just yummy cakes - breakfast is excellent here. Go for the eggs with hollandaise and potato roesti and the French toast with pistachio praline and a big dollop of marscapone. Yum!

Wow, these guys know how to shop! I initially ordered from another organic delivery company (because it was a bit cheaper) but was disappointed with the lackluster contents in the seasonal box. These guys are worlds apart! The fruit and veg are fabulous and you get an ample amount for the price (not always the case with organics!). The bread is also to die for - La Madre sourdough, which I used to have to trek to Vic Market in my lunch break to purchase. Opening the box every week is like getting a present. Couldn't recommend more highly.
