Thursday night dinner here last week.
Place was basically empty,2 people infront of usnin the line and a coulle seated and 2 behind us.
Place is well lit, nice big tables .
We ordered a flaming cow on something like foccaccia which was a very small long bread roll, grilled rib fillet, bacon, king island smoked cheddar, lettuce ,tomato, caramelised onion, tomato chutney. They do charge and extra $1 for truffle salt which is a bit much I think.$15.80 for an overpirced burger. He enjoyed it tho, wasnt sloppy and had nice flavour he said. I had a baa baa que lamb, bbq sauce, lettuce tomato, didnt see or taste the onion and mayo on a gf bun that was overly hard . Mine was drippy ,served on slate tiles which i dont like and the mess goes everywhere, especially when picked up by staff. Taste was nice tho,we had a large chips which anywhere else would have been regular for $4:80 and onion rings for same price and 2 drinks, the ale he didnt like.
Tables wernt cleaned as soon as people left and we sat for another ten minutes until,we left and the table next to,us was still dirty.
Our food took almost 15 minutes although they werent busy. Tables and benches had lots of room amd floors were clean. No one over 18 running the place by the looks of it. Nice to have simething different but be prepared for overpriced food for your money and small serve sizes.they have beef lamb and chicken burgers,2 desserts and lots of different aoli.we tried the smokey one with our chips and it was really nice, the chips were perfect, thick cut,not greasy and crispy. Cost us around $50 for dinner which was expensive but if you are around the plaza have a try

Havnt been here for, yonks and its had a revamp.
Looks more like a typical fish and chip shop now.was a cafe when we were last here .
Nice and bright,we ordered the pack for 2 for $23 which was reasonable, fish small chips and calamari. Also ordered seafood sticks
Nothing was greasy which was good, packed in. Ice open boxes ,we did ask for potato scallop but ive never heard of anyone running out of potatoes? Thats what we were told. So chips are pre packaged and so must the scallops be too. Find it hard a fish and chip shop would run out of potatoes. Wondered now how much was out of a box.
Calamari was crumbed nicely and cooked nicely but had the feeling it was more sting ray flaps because of the texture and no stringyness of calamari skin. Seafood sticks were yummy, chips werent crispy really and bit soft,we got a nice tartare with the pack.
Sit in or eat down by the beach like we did.
They have burgers, wraps, gluten free rolls for an extra $3 which i thought a bit pricey, some things are pricey tho. Lots to choose from including expensive thick shakes for $7. A cheesburger and mini chips for kids is also $7.50 which i think is exe. Parking can be a bit rough on a friday night out on the st tho.
Service was just basic, was cooked in under 10 min .open 7am till 7 pm 7 days

Found some pizza hut vouchers and decided to,use them last night for takeaway.
2 pizza ,bottle drink 1.25 lt and a garlick bread for around $20
We ordered and paid online and picked up in 15 min.
When we got there the shop was empty and kne girl doing the cooking, she saw us but made no acknowledgement,we thought she was on her own and left her to,it thinking she would finish and come serve us . Not the case, she kept looking at us and we said hello, still no acknowledgement,so i got our drink out of the fridge after 5 min and my partner coughed loudly, still no service so my partner yelled out we are here to,pick up an order please! 2 girls from around the back of the fridge next to us decided to run out to serve us after 8 min!
They must have heard us talking and saying hello etc .very poor.
We oredered a ham and pineapple and a pulled beef bbq.
The pulled beef tasted nothing less than sauce which was nice . Can see the meat but not a taste of it.was chewy.
A bit doughy and slightly under cooked on the base
unfortunately the next morning the ham and pineapple re entered this world. The pizza gave us both heart burn all night and made me sick this morning.
Place was clean and bright, parking is aplenty outside but service and pizza were a shocker ,wont be going back no wonder we havnt been there for years

Approximate cost: $21

We must have gotten here on an off day.
After reading numerous reviews over the years and nothing but good stuff about it so finally had the opportunity to drive down for my daughters birthday . Parking is a bit unusual ,small single lane pathways and find a car park amongst the many quay marina spaces. Quite quaint really .
We showed up at 5:15 for an early dinner before a booked show at 6:30. No line up and were seated right away by a nice lady but not very friendly as one should be as the greeter. We were seated in the middle of the huge restaurant over from the view of the expensive boats at the marina and thats all that can be seen. As the number one seafood restaurant we felt it didnt live up to that last night
Nice clean place, very bright with natural light from the huge windows. Fairy lights above us and also very black dirty air con vents and a black beam on the side of it which was a little off putting to the pristine white and blue decor of the place.
The place filled up in half an hr and was very noisy with echoing talking and children and usual banter and loud music that was turned down eventually.place was nice and cool tho. If you want intimacy or romantic i wouldnt suggest here .
We ordered drinks and some water, drinks came and water was forgotten so after 20 min we asked another lady for some. We ordered ,for the men chicken schnitzels with chips and salad and veg, daughter ordered a nice seafood crepe and I had the garlic prawns in white wine ,brandy and cream for $20 each
Some garlic bread which tasted nice ,crispy crust, nice garlic taste but soaked far too much with butter that it left pools of butter on the plate.
The guys were more than happy with there chicken ,I thought it was overly brown, but was a good size and salad on side ,hubbys had a whote cooked carrot with his and thin chips in a small bowl. All meals were brought out together which was good,no one was that friendly and just doing their job, wasnt very welcoming we thought.
As for the seafood that leaves a lot to be said.
My daughters crepe was served in a nice dish but she started eating it and the centre wasnt hot,she said it was slightly warm and she couldnt eat it,she ate some of the surrounding hotter parts and the salad.
My garlic prawns were anything but garlic brandy ,white wine or cream! Had the colour but no taste of anything and creamy they wernt. Rice was ok until i hit larger clumps that had stuck together like old rice,i pushed those aside ,7 prawns didnt tatse like fresh seafood, bit chewy and the salad comes with no dressing and is a mix of lettuce leaves and not much else and tasteless. A wedge of lemon was all the taste I had.
My daughter didnt want to say anything about her meal but if nothing is said ,nothing gets fixed that they dont know about and having seafood served thats not up to the proper food safety standards isnt right. My prawns and rice were only just warm and not very appetising I was hungry so ate them. Leaving rice on the side
When we asked for the bill after and hr of being there I did mention the slightly warm seafood of my daughters and they were nice enough to take that meal, off the bill and supplied us with complimentary ports but we dont drink. All in all it was a meal, nothing flash, nothing to impress us for the number 1 seafood restaurant . Maybe others will have better experiences .the big sign out front says half price meals ,not sure what happened to that when we got inside unless the meals were double originally

Came here for lunch with my daughter who was visiting from uk this week. Always wanted to try so decided this was a special ocassion and go for it.
We didnt have a booking but we got there upon opening so they had tables spare.
Gorgeous views of bulcock beach across the rd,the glare off the awnings at 12 noon is a bit eye catching so wear sunnies as it can be annoying and painful.
We were seated by a lovely lady who was helpful,at the side of the restaurant.
Water was served, very nice shaped glasses too
Entrées of hervey bay scallops in the shell with bacon and parmesan salsa for $14 for my daughter came out quick and I just wanted some nice ciabatta, warm and 2 knobs of salted butter on the side were delish.
She loved her scallops too, they looked nice.
Mains were Coral Coast barramundi, cos lettuce, potato gnocchi, clams, shellfish consumme $38 for her and
Crispy darling downs pork belly, pickled baby carrots, apple, mustard, grape $37 for me. The pork belly was perfect tho 4 small 1 inch sized pieces seemed a bit stingy for the price. Skin was crunchy and lovely.wasnt much on my plate for $38 ,4 stringy sized carrots, and mostly sauces spread over the plate in patterns, mustard, something orange ,all tasted great but was still feeling hungry, please add more pork to the meal for value. Daughters fish dish was much more on her plate and she devoured it lovingly .we also, ordered a side of chips which were thick and crunchy and spicy. Very nice.but again $10 for a small bowl of chips is a bit much too.
Our dishes were taken promptly ,never anyone in our face we were left to enjoy the view and company.the place started to fill up around 12:30
We decided on dessert Tides cherry ripe, coconut parfait, dark chocolate, cherry $16 for me and It was heaven beautiful ice cream, curls of chocolate and black cherries and coconut, one thing I didnt like was the choc curls covered in cocoa,it made my mouth dry and wasnt really nice on the chocolate. Daughter had Chamomile tea panna cotta, apple sorbet, ginger, walnut $16 i had a taste and the thin cut apple was divine with the panna cotta.looked so well presented too
Table settings are white with a lovley glass of yellow lillies in them, very pretty.
Only thing is to be prepared with high prices for little serves. Dont go starving lol
End of meal we were presented with the bill which has a form to fill in on how your meal was ,yes i mentioned the cocoa .
They bring a large hand held payment machine to your table, which neither of us has seen before, quite novel,to zip your card thru and take ur reciept. Parking isnt great ,we parked in the next street, parking machines are abundant in caloundra so beware. All in all was a lovely meal and experience and we spent 2 hours over a lingering lunchtime.was lovely and relaxing

Partner made a reservation for valentines night this year.
From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left 2 hrs later we couldnt have been more pleased.
The service, food and atmosphere is just wonderful.
We were greeted, seated and served our drinks.
The. Cool mountain breeze thru the windows was welcome relief on a qld hotter than hot night.
Fairy lights on a tin roof were lovely.candles on the tables decorated with tiny syptars ,hearts and rose petals was a lovely touch.
We ordered entrėes of the chowder and trio,of prawns. My partner kept raving about his chowder as i teased about my prawns of 2 garlic, coconut which i adored and tempura served in a bamboo steamer. The chowder comes in a cob loaf and looked good
Our mains were the fish and chips for me,barramundi and moreton bay bugs also served in a bamboo steamer with 3 diff sauces on the side. My chips were so big and thick and came in a small wire basket on the plate, very cute.
Nothing was over powering and you could taste the freshness of the seafood.white juicy pieces of fish and a nice little salad in an edible tortilla basket, unusual and delicate. We watched food around us being served and everything looked so damn good.
Tables werent close and easily manouverable for the customers . The wait staff are older gen and lovely, not jn your face and plates were removed a few minutes after finishing. They were friendly,we met the owners ,pauline and craig and complimented them on such a beautiful night.
In the day time the view from the restaurant is breathtaking,at night the twinkle of the lights from the city is lovely.
The orange chocolates, well i think they were orange ,served at the end of the meal are so smooth and delectable
Clean, romantic and rustic. No wonder they win awards
this place is such a pleasure and so relaxing. Like walking into nans kitchen, welcoming and relaxed. Prices are as expected and we spent about $140 but so worth it. Thanks guys and anyone wanting to try it please do
