My family has gone to this bakery since I was a small child, so I have fond memories of getting a doughnut on a Sunday (and I'm pleased to say they taste as good now as they did then). The blueberry scrolls are one of my favourites, as they're not packed full of custard. To anyone looking for this bakery (as there are a few on Were St) it's at the top of the hill.

This bakers delight always seems to have one of the biggest ranges I've seen. Perhaps it's that their store has a bit more room that some of the others, but there are always extra buns on the tables at the front, if you want to make a quick choice. Quality is always very consistent (another bakers delight in the area has a tendency to overcook). Staff are always polite and helpful.

I love walking down the steep path to the boathouse - it really it like leaving melbourne and heading out to the country for a day. All the while staying in Fairfield. The quality of the food is reasonable, as are prices for a cafe. However I agree with other reviewers, that service can be a bit on the slow side. I'm not quite sure why more staff aren't put on as they can get very busy over lunch, and a sunny day always means many people by the water. That said, the experience is worth the wait.

I drove past Stokers for a year before talking to a friend and being informed that - no, it wasn't closed, but was in fact only open at night. I guess that adds a bit to its charm, the thick red curtains concealing the cute little crepe place until evening. A good alternative to the overpriced Pancake Parlour, I'd definitely recommend them. Just keep in mind that they serve crepes (think French pancakes) not thick American style pancakes like the Pancake Parlour.

Great range of organic foods and at reasonable prices compared to some of the other local organic speciality stores. They have everything from fruit to chilled and packaged foods. Their range of breads is also lovely - but be sure to get in earlier in the day as they are usually all gone by the late afternoon.

I went to Seamstress with a group of friends earlier in the week. They had a good range of cocktails - but perhaps were missing a few classics. I settled on the bartenders choice of the week which featured absinthe, dark run and almond syrup. Drinks were as expected prices and the bar upstairs featured table service. Nice little place, tucked away.

My friend and I went on the hunt for a new restaurant last week and we were very happy to find Papasito. I'd walked past recently and was interested in 'organic Mexican'. My friend is really passionate about organic food so it was perfect timing when we found it again. There are lots of vegetarian, meat and vegan options on the menu, which was great considering I'm a vegetarian and my friend loves her meat. We both got Quesadilla's with a side of Mexican beans which worked out to be both cheap and filling. The atmosphere was nice - it was fairly quiet being late on a Monday night. I think there was also a private booking out in the back room. Food was delicious and we'll definitely be back again.

Got these guys at a friend's place one, just takeaway. Food was tasty, but a bit on the expensive side. Good amount of toppings and my friends highly recommend them.

Tiba's is a great place for big or small groups. Food is always fresh and delicious. Helpings are big and they will let you take extra home. The platters are more than enough for two people, plus you can always order a few extras if you want some more. Definitely recommended.

Great summer venue, with a beer garden and lots of room out on Sydney road with picnic table style seating. Good drinks and a bonus - the Mr Burger truck is often parked out the front so you can get a tasty burger as well. Perfect for summer drinks with mates.
