Small family run organic grocer in Northcote. Very convenient and often often after 5pm - great for the quick dash out before dinner when you want to avoid the larger chains. Good range of fruit, veg and the works. All organic. Joe will come over for a chat and recommend some produce. Very friendly and a much nicer experience than what you get at the chains!
After years of hit and miss hair cuts I was reccommended Kimmy's salon by several of my friends. They had been seeing her since she started hair dressing and opened her salon last year. Clean, fresh and new I've even managed to get my mum to swap to Kimmy Rose.
I normally have Lisa cut my hair. With curls and a short fringe with cow lick nobody could ever get it all sitting correctly. However Lisa has done an excellent job. She also does my mum's cut and colour which looks great.
Great haircuts at reasonable prices and friendly staff.
Probably the best fish burger I've had. Nice bread, just the right amount of fillings. Chips are crunchy, not too oily. Potato cakes were average. Overall a good place and I'll be back soon.
A nicely done up Coles in Northcote Plaza. The Plaza itself is a bit run down but the Coles always seems to be well stocked. The staff are polite and the self serves are generally well stocked. Much better than the Safeway option further up High St.
Excellent pizza every time. This is my parents go to pizza shop in their area. There are some closer, but these guys are so consistent we always go back. Good sizes, bases cooked just right.
Grubby and unrenovated Safeway. I hope they get an upgrade soon because it's one of the worst I've seen. Sometimes the music isn't playing which makes it quite awkward walking around. Not always good stock of items either. They had no lite homebrand milk last time I was there.
A family favourite - I believe they also own the Burger Lounge which is another great place. Great range of fresh salads. Call ahead to save a long wait for dinner. Great take away, good price.
Delicious burgers, can take some time and be a bit crowded, so try to get in a bit earlier. Definitely worth it, though. Great in summer. A good alternative to Grilled and supporting a local small business.
Wonderful staff, very helpful. I've been going for years and everyone is always very friendly. Great for kids (big and small) I'd definitely recommend getting some pads to stop painful bumps and bruises.
My favourite place to go to the movies. With cheap Monday's it makes seeing films much easier on a budget. Also good that you can take a beer or wine into your movie. They also have their own version of 'gold class' which you can buy vouchers for - great for presents!
