I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but this place makes excellent drinks. In summer they make wonderful iced chocolate and ice coffee. Beautiful icecream, real chocolate. An absolute treat. Tucked away like any hidden gem in Melbourne.
Absolutely delicious food. My family has been ordering from Phyllis for years. She recognises us ordering over the phone and often recommends new things for us to try as well. She also doesn't use MSG which is a big plus. She used to have a restaurant in Eltham which is now closed, I'd love to have the eat in experience again, but at least I can still get this great food at home.
It's getting more difficult to develop film myself. Vanbar is the distributor for a few products like Patterson Tanks and photo developing/fixing chemicals at a reasonable price. Staff are knowledgeable in film as well.
Great place to take your mates no matter what food they like - vego, vegan or meaty. The vego/vegan meals are tasty and pub style, with a few great mexican selections as well. Great for a drink, plenty of room. The Gaso is also away from the main strip, which gives it a more authentic vibe. There are also a great selection of bands playing, so worth checking out.
Great for big groups, Mosskito has lots of room and is a good location. We went on a 2 for 1 cocktail night which went down very well! Food was well priced and good size serves. The waitress did leave us alone for awhile when we'd finished eating which meant it took longer for us to get a second round of cocktails, but overall they were very attentive.
I went to Polly with a big group of friends. Staff were able to clear a table for us all very quickly and were friendly. Drinks were fairly average, with everyone ordering a cocktail, however nothing particularly great amongst them. Mostly ice, not very strong. Still, the atmosphere was lively, and I'll probably be back again to give it a second shot.
This shop has a lovely collection of clothes. No need to rummage was the trash and treasure, it's hard to miss a beat with such a nice array of things. Prices are reasonable too, with 3 for x amount of $ working out quite well if you find a few items that you like. Girl at the counter was very helpful as well.
I popped in here for breakfast with a friend recently. It was a sunny morning so we sat in the courtyard which was lovely. I had the Mexican eggs which were delicious with just the right amount of spice. My friend had the French toast with mascarpone and berries which was also wonderful. A great array of breakfast treats, I'd definitely recommend this place, prices were also very reasonable (they're also listed on the website).
There's a long history of my family going to Jim's. Mum's been going there before she even met my dad.
Jim's is an experience in Greek food. There are no menu's - the waiter will ask you if you want to start with the dips, some saganki? Octopus? Then go on to talk about the meats. Don't expect a menu here, the food is all about conversation and it's great fun. Loud, family friendly and very Greek. It is a bit quieter if you book for 6pm, but things heat up quickly especially on the weekends.
My absolute favourite Greek restaurant. It's also worth requesting to sit in the courtyard (it's covered) as it's a bit less cramped.
Tasty Japanese food at a good price. It's worth booking ahead because they get quite busy even on week nights. My favourite it the tempura, it's cooked perfectly. If you're at Kent St next door you can order and eat next door which it great if you're in for the long haul there. However take away can take away on a busy Saturday night - I've had up to a 1 hour wait on food, so try to get in early. The wait it worth it.
