I like crumbed fish and my girlfriend likes grilled so we tried Bart's Place at Lota. We both enjoyed what we got and the fish was fresh and tasty. The chips were pretty good too!
Approximate cost: $10.00
Great little cafe just hidden away from the Brisbane Mall on level one of the Wintergarden. I've been here for lunch several times with friends and we have a simple toasted sandwiches and milkshakes. Quick, friendly staff serving good standard cafe food.
Approximate cost: $12.00
If you are into big chunks of red meat than this is the place for you - no vegies wanted here! Can you choose from 9 different steaks - T-bone, eye fillet, or the Big Norman rump. You have a choice of sauces too. If you don't eat steak, try the chicken or pork. You eat in a busy beer garden style atmosphere.
Approximate cost: $30.00
Don't expect a modern restaurant. The interior of this large place is a little tired but the food, service and prices always makes up for it. The best Yum Cha in Brisbane. I have never bothered looking at their menu as the fun of the Yum Cha is what I come here for.
Approximate cost: $20.00
I joined three of my work colleagues here for lunch on a Friday. We enjoyed the trio of dips as a starter and the German Pretzel Bread (my favourite). For mains we shared 3 dishes - sea scallops (again my favourite), Duck and Gnocchi, and mushroom Tortellini. We all enjoyed the food and modern atmosphere.
Approximate cost: $15.00
Modern beer garden restaurant which is part of the Chalk Hotel. Menu items include pizzas, steaks, fish and chips. Enjoy the casual atmosphere, friendly service and good pub grub.
Approximate cost: $20.00
The Chalk hotel offered 2 restaurants to eat at and 8 bars to drink at. It has a fun vibrant, modern, atmosphere with lots of entertainment on offer including live music, trivia nights and a girl friend even when to speed dating here!
Approximate cost: $20.00
Just what you would expect in an Irish pub. Dark wood paneling interior and wooden tables and chairs. The menu offers such delights as beer battered fish and chips, guinness braised beef and irish stew plus burgers, BLTs and nachos for light snacks. Not fine dining just a fun, casual place to have a drink and a meal.
Approximate cost: $19.00
I have been here for lunch several times with a group of work mates (up to 14 people) and I've had the one on one here with my lady. I really enjoy their quality steaks on offer and usually get the T-bone. My lady enjoyed her Thai beef salad for lunch. Can get a little loud and busy especially on Fridays.
Approximate cost: $26.00
I stayed here with my partner for a work conference. The rooms were of a good standard, clean and modern. The facilities and restaurant were of a good standard as well. This hotel overlooks the city and it close to the Roma Street Parklands. Helpful service.
