I've been here a number of times now for leisure purposes, and ice skating in the rink still has plenty of fun to be wrought. I liked that the ice was maintained and smoothed regularly and the staff's willingness to help out and teach if necessary. It's a good group activity, though it can get a bit pricey or crowded depending on the hour, and a good chance to watch everyone humiliate themselves trying to skate or show off their skating talents.
Like the zoo, an excursion out to the aquarium is great even as an experience. I personally found the shark tank to be the most impressive exhibit, it would be a good idea to install more seating there given the number of people that stall to look in the area. The line up to actually get in was a bit long though, probably due to the complimentary photo services that they try to sell off at the end as memoirs, it would be better if they label this as optional though to save on queuing times. All in all though, a great family experience and educational and fun for all ages but kids in particular.
I found this to be a great experience to visit and take an opportunity to get away from the city and be surrounded by animals. It's probably a good idea just to take a day out to visit the Melbourne Zoo, they have a huge number of exhibit and cover a great area so it's nice to make a lovely, leisurely excursion out of it.
Springvale hairdressers have always been relatively cheap, so I decided to get my hair cut at Thanh's, it cut was cheap but I asked for an asymmetrical bob (longer at the front and shorter at the back) that turned out straight on one side and asymmetrical on the other. The service was cheap, but I'd probably prefer to pay more to get a better quality cut.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the highest floor (floor 10) in one of the Studio Deluxe rooms earlier in the year. We both found the to be on the small side (something to be expected in city though I guess) but tastefully decorated and with good quality furnishings- comfortable bed, kitchenette and large flat screen TV with DVD. The bar fridge was relatively small though and there was no point hence of using the freezer due to the lack of space (our ice cream plan backfired on us) so don't purchase anything that needs to be kept on ice. Service was always polite and prompt, so was always well appreciated and breakfast in the morning was delish. A truly nice stay for a Melbourne getaway- thank you Fraser Place.
I've dined here quite a few times now, but only ever for breakfast/brunch. Having since finished their remodelling, the layout has been greatly improved and it can not better accomodate larger groups. I've always enjoyed their drinks, which has always been nice and are delivered fast and the quality of the meals though the wait times on the food have always been a bit more variable. Overall, I'l agree with the below reviewer that it's a good place to enjoy a casual get together.
Mexican food is consumed rarely by me, so I jumped at the opportunity to try this deal out. My personal thoughts were The Table had a quaint intimate feel and that the staff were quite knowledgeable and passionate about the food. I thoroughly enjoyed the tasting adventure my palate savoured, but the portions themselves were on the smaller size. Regardless though, my boyfriend and I left feeling full and well satisfied even though I'm not sure I would go back for the full price. Kudos to the chef for the meal, it was still an amazing experience.

This store does ice cream and drink and only sells one particular type of bun, but the buns from this store are absolutely beautiful- soft, fluffy and buttery, with the strong scent of coffee, these scent and taste of Pappa Roti buns are addictive and best eaten straight away when the butter is still melted on the inside and it comes out from the oven. I have gone back repeated to this store just for the buns alone. Supposedly, they are best taken with coffee but I've tried their milk tea and a latte and the drinks aren't anything amazing. The seating area as well only consists of a couple (yes, two) of tables and a few seats, so it's more of a takeaway option. The Pappa Roti chain also has a store on Elizabeth in the city, from those unwilling to travel down to Glen Waverley but I think that that store only does the drinks and buns.
Approximate cost: $2.60
This is a great example of the Asian dessert place trend taking Melbourne lately- I have to agree with lingo79 that their taro ball deserts are probably the best (I personally didn't like anything there hot though) but the diversity in their range is more than extensive enough to have something to satisfy all tastes. Yet to try their drinks
Approximate cost: $6-10
Yummy! If you want to satisfy any chocolate cravings, Max Brenner is the place to go- hot chocolate, iced drinks, waffles, souffle, fondues- there is something for everyone and though it might be on the pricey side, I've yet to be disappointed by anything in their range
