This review is for The Red Snail, Surry Hills NSW

My husband and I went to The Red Snail for dinner a few times every month. The little French restaurant is hidden within a shopping court (not on the street front), so you need to go inside to find it. We always order the 3-course meal which only costs $45 per person, which is really cheap. I always order the snails cooked in garlic butter sauce and my husband loves the duck liver pate. For mains, we ordered the pork belly and the roast lamb shoulder. The pork belly melts in my mouth - very delicious. The desserts are very nice too and we are always full already after the mains. They do BYO as well which is really good. Wonderful service from the cheerful staff who are always smiling.

I went to Bar 333 with a friend for a quick catchup over lunch. Nice black and red settings and decorations. They have seatings in the inside as well as outside. Sitting on the outside tends to be quite noisy as it is right next to George Street. I ordered a steak sandwiche which comes with salad, mayo and chips. The serving size was huge and it tasted delicious. My friend ordered the spaghetti bolognaise which was very nice too. Staff were friendly and efficient. Great place for a casual meal as the price was not expensive at all.

This review is for Waqu, Crows Nest NSW

verified email - 31 Jan 2013

Went to Waqu for a friend's birthday and everyone ordered the 6-course meal. Everyone on the table must have the same course. You get to choose what you would like for each course. I had a soup (cold), scallop and mussels, some fish, wagyu steak and a ginger lemon tart. All dishes are bite size portion and some of them were served as a spoonful. They are very fresh and tasty though. The ginger lemon tart has very strong ginger taste which I am not a fan of ginger. Spent $68 per person plus drinks on top. Great service from the staff and delicious food in overall - just that I found it quite expensive.

I got into contact with Hollywood for Hire from a friend's referral. I hired some crystal goblets from them for my wedding reception table centrepiece, a wishing well, as well as a table seating display. I asked them for a quote and they came back to me very quickly, and the prices are negotiable. Very friendly team who delivers items exactly as described.

This review is for Masuya Japanese, Sydney NSW

I went to Masuya with my colleagues for lunch. A very busy place during lunchtime peak hour, and we have made a booking 2 days in advance. Very professional and friendly staff with their name placed on our table, so we know who exactly was serving us and who was responsible for our table. We ordered set lunch boxes (bentos) from the lunch menu which costs around $25-30 depending which set you ordered. I had the sashimi set with wagyu beef, salad and udon. Everything was really fresh and delicious. My colleague doesn't eat raw food (sashimi) so we made a special request to swap the sashimi with extra tempura, and the staff happily does so. The bento size is quite huge, and we were all very full afterwards. It costs like $2-2.20 per person for green tea which I think is abit steep. I love this place and we will be back.

This review is for Rahmen Genki, Artarmon NSW

verified email - 30 Jan 2013

I have been to Ramen Genki a few times for lunch, but found the taste and the quality of the menu items to be deteriorating. The quality of the ramen tastes different to before, the pork bone soup base tastes the same as the powder soup base I can buy from instant noodles. The gyoza (dumplings) were burnt and there wasn't much meat in them. Nevertheless, the place is still fully packed. We have waited for a long time for our food to be ready as well. Slightly overpriced so don't think I will go back.

This review is for P.J. Gallagher's Irish Pub, Drummoyne NSW

verified email - 30 Jan 2013

Went to PJ Gallagher for dinner on a weekday night with my husband. The place wasn't full so we got a table straight away. Cosy little pub with a good selection of items on the menu. I ordered their famous lamb shanks which came with bread to dip the sauce in and my husband ordered the steak which came with chips. The lamb shanks were braised beautifully and it was tender and juicy. The steak was delicious too. The staff are really friendly, bringing us tomato sauce, ice water etc straight away when requested. The price was reasonable, not expensive at all. Just one thing I didn't like was that the dining tables were placed right next to a huge TV, which can get quite loud and noisy at times.

This review is for Kobe Jones, Sydney NSW

I went to Kobe Jones for dinner with a group of friends. The atmosphere these is great. We ordered a few dishes to share which includes the Sashimi, Alaskan Crab, Soft soft crab rolls, Tataki etc. We also ordered 3 bottles of sake to share. We were very full by the end of the night. Service was great with the wait staff being very polite and courteous. I found the prices to be quite expensive, but I guess the price includes the view of overlooking the Darling Harbour.

This review is for The Roast House, Sydney NSW

verified email - 29 Jan 2013

My colleagues and I buy our coffees and breakfasts from The Roast House every week as it is close to our office. They serve really nice coffees and we also buy vegemite on turkish toast and muffins etc as well. The egg and bacon sandwiches are freshly made and they are delicious. I always request for for more sauce which they happily do so. The boss, George, is super friendly and funny. The chicken schnitzel they serve during lunchtime is huge and very filling. I can never finish one on my own and need to share with my colleague. Very hard to find a spot to sit down during lunch hour though.

This review is for Fujiyama Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant, Chatswood West NSW

verified email - 29 Jan 2013

We went to Fujiyama Teppanyaki for dinner as we went past it and haven't tried it before. The shop has just been newly opened recently. We ordered the beef teriyaki with rice, BBQ pork ribs, miso soup and spring rolls as entrée. The dishes tasted alright but not oily which is good. Saw other tables sitting nearby having teppanyaki which we would surely try next time. Seatings are comfortable and the prices for the food is average in the area. There weren't enough staff around to serve the tables so we wasted abit of time waiting around.

Approximate cost: $17
