Very fresh and reasonably cheap fruits and vegetables in Campsie! Convenient location with car spaces nearby, so it is easy to just buy lots of fruits and vegetables and drop them in the car straight away. I bought lots of items from their bargain bin area like a bag of tomatoes, a tray of mushroom etc which are really cheap. Extensive range of fruits and vegetables available so you can surely find everything you need.

We went to Red Spoon Thai for dinner on a weekend night and it was packed. We didn't book and were lucky to get a table. A small restaurant that is nicely decorated. We had the salt and pepper squid which was a must-order, the pork belly which melted in our mouth and the crispy soft shell crab salad, All the dishes were very delicious, but a little spicy for me, but was perfect for my husband. Staff were extremely friendly and professional, we were very happy with the service. We even had to take away some food as there were left-overs.

This review is for Mr Chow Peking Restaurant, Sydney NSW

Went to Mr Chow Peking Restaurant with a few colleagues for Chinese New Year dinner celebration after work. The restaurant was quite busy and the place was fully packed during dinner time so it was lucky that we have booked a table in advance. We ordered the dish of the drunken chicken with wine, scallops with vegetables, tea smoked duck, wagyu beef with the wasabi mayo sauce and mabo tofu. The dishes were delicious and the wagyu beef were tender and juicy. The slices of duck were eaten some chinese steamed buns with sauce and shallots, which was delicious. The food was excellent, however, we noticed that the tea cups and tea pot were dirty when we sat down, and have to request for them to be exchanged. White rice was charged at $3 per person which was abit steep. Other than that, this place is recommended for Peking cuisine in the city area.

This review is for Maimon Sushi, Balmain NSW

Went to Maimon Sushi for a quick lunch after some boxing class in the Balmain area. Small and cosy little restaurant which makes you feel very welcome. We ordered some normal dishes chicken terikayi and karage, plus a few sushi and sashimi plates to share. Prices are reasonable, not too expensive. The staff are super friendly, always chatting to us and asking if we are enjoying our food. A lovely little Japanese restaurant which is excellent for simple and quick Japanese meals.

This review is for Cena Pizzeria, Oatley NSW

verified email - 10 Feb 2013

We ordered some take-away pizza and pasta from Cena on the phone and went to pick them up. We waited for 10 minutes when we got there, which was still ok. We ordered BBQ baby octopus, a Cena pizza, a Napolatana spaghetti, lagsana and a seafood risotto to share. The pizza and pasta were very delicious with heavy garlic sauce. The prices of the items on the menu are reasonable, the take-away size is ok but could be a little bit bigger. We enjoyed our take-away meal in front of home TV very much.

This review is for Good Luck, Enfield NSW

We went to Lao Zhao Good Luck Chinese Restaurant for a friend's birthday - 12 people sitting in 1 table was abit squashed. We made a booking and pre-ordered 2 ducks in advance as they take time to cook. We had some Dan Dan Sichua noodles, Peking duck, egg white with crab meat (nice to eat with rice) etc. We order Qing Dao chinese beer as well. They dishes are delicious. However, they told us that we must leave by 8:30pm as they have 2nd seating at that time and need our table to be cleared - which wasn't very good at all.

This review is for First Taste Chinese Restaurant, Campsie NSW

My husband and I love going to First Taste Chinese Restaurant in Campsie for quick and simple lunch and dinner when we don't feel like cooking. Nice and small restaurant which is quite clean. They specialise in herbal soup and claypot rice which I always order every time. I order the eggplace, anchovy, chicken rice claypot and shark bone with pork bone bone. Very delicious and the portion is generous. I am always full from each of the meal. The dishes are very cheap - the soup costs around $3.80-$6 (depending on what you order and the ingredients) and the claypot rice costs around $7 each. Staff is efficient bringing us a bottle of hot water as soon as we sat down. Must visit restaurant when you go to Campsie.

This review is for Hurricane's Grill, Sydney NSW

Went to Hurricane at Harbourside for a friend's birthday. Booking has been made but we still had to wait in which you could wait at the bar area beforehand. Great and lively atmosphere at night overlooking the Darling Harbour. I ordered a full rack pork ribs in BBQ sauce (which comes with chips) and a salad to share. The size of the full rack is really huge which can be shared between 2 girls. The ribs were so delicious and tasty that we had to lick every rib bone. Service was great and the staff were really nice and friendly. A friend who doesn't drink alcohol wasn't sure what to order, so the waitstaff actually recommended a mocktail which wasn't on the menu. We will be back.

This review is for Ryo's Noodles, Crows Nest NSW

Went to Ryotei for lunch as my mum and I felt like having ramen. They always have a queue outside the shop everytime we passed by no matter summer or winter. Little cosy shop without air-con so it can get abit stuffy and hot. I always order the shiyo ramen which has abit of everything. We also ordered gyoza and onigiri as well. The size of the bowl of ramen is just right, not too small but is filling. The place is quite clean and the prices for the items on the menu is reasonable. If they don't have a table for you, you might need to sit together with the other customers on the same table sometimes which can abit crowded.

This review is for The Olde Oak Patisserie, Sydney NSW

I buy cakes from The Old Oak Patisserie every week as it is close to my office, mainly for my sweet tooth when I need a sugar hit. I always buy the mini blueberry cheesecake from them. They are so delicious and are bite-size so it's easy to eat. I don't feel guilty having a small one. When we have a colleague's birthday in the office, we always buy birthday cakes from them as well. Our favourites are the chocoloate mousse, the Swiss chocolate and hazelnut mousse and the New York cheesecake. They cakes are fresh, look beautiful and taste very nice too! The price ranges from $35-50 for a huge cake which is quite reasonable. You can also place an order in advance if you have a particular cake you like.
