This review is for Kintara (aka Kintaro), Neutral Bay NSW

verified email - 29 Jan 2013

I like going to Kintaro for quick and simple Japanese dinner. A small and cosy little restaurant situated just off the main street in Neutral Bay. The items on the menu aren't too fancy but are simple authentic Japanese cuisine. I ordered the sashimi deluxe and a chicken teriyaki with rice. The sashimi were very fresh and the chicken dish was delicious. Prices are very reasonable. The place can get abit noisy during peak hours and it would be good to make a reservation, as there is not much waiting area for you to stand and waiting around for the next available table.

This review is for Tokyo Mart, Northbridge NSW

My husband and I love going to Tokyo Mart shopping for Japanese groceries. We always buy the Wagyu beef slices and pork neck that are thinly sliced for our hot pot. They have an extensive range of Japanese sake (rice wine) for sale as well which my husband loves, as the sake prices are quite competitive. The other items' prices varies in terms of expensiveness depending on what you buy. They have an area like the bargain bin in which the items are really cheap due to the expiry dates are approaching which we always check out. The staff are super friendly and always assisting in every way they can.

Went to Spanish Terrazas for dinner with friends for a quick catch-up. The atmosphere was great with dancing starting at around 8:30pm. It can get abit noisy with the music going on in the background and could be hard to talk. Lovely and colourful decoration in the restaurant. We ordered a seafood paella, tapas, some garlic bread and a jug of sangria to share. Lots of seafood in the paella which was delicious. Size is generous and it was good to share so we could eat abit of everything. Service was great and the wait staff were quick and efficient, serving us drinks and food shortly after we have placed our order. We will definitely come back again!

Had lunch today at the Rossini Restaurant, overlooking the Sydney harbour Bridge and abit of the Opera House. It was raining but the outside area was undercover so I sat outside. I ordered a chicken crepe with salad and an ice mocha. The crepe was very tasty and ice mocha was very rich. They have desserts available as well but I was too full. A nice and casual lunch in a relaxing environment with nice staff.

This review is for Shanghai Stories 1938 Chinese Restaurant, Chatswood NSW

We had a family dinner at Shanghai Stories 1938 on the weekend, a very nice and traditional restaurant with Shanghainese decorations and feeling. Lov the high ceiling with grand lights. They have an extensive menu of Shanghainese food. We ordered some rice noodles chicken salad with sesame dressing for entrée(cold dish), pork belly in Shanghainese style, San Choy Bao and egg white with dry scallops. The dishes were very delicious. They were not expensive at all which was to my surprise. The service was excellent and the restaurant looked very clean. We will definitely go back again!

Went there for Korean BBQ buffet with friends for dinner. Their prices have just increased to $31. The place was fully packed when we went there at 5:30pm, but lucky that we made a booking. We were disappointed with the air ventilation and no air con on such a hot day. They have lots of marinated meat available, hot cooked dishes, salad, Korean style desserts etc I love eating the Jap Chea (Korean potato noodles). The beef ribs was very delicious too as they were marinated nicely. The place gets quite smokey after awhile with every table barbecuing closely at the same time. The service was great though with the wait staff coming over to our table frequently changing the hot plate every 8-10 minutes, to ensure we are using new clean plates when barbecuing. We will be back!

This review is for Hello Happy, Strathfield NSW

Went to Hello Happy Cafe with friends for drinks& desserts after dinner nearby. Their drinks' menu is quite extensive. We ordered an ice mocha, ice green tea latte, ice yuzu tea. The New York cheesecake & mango pudding is delicious despite the cake size is quite small. Cozy environment with cute homey decorations and display. Service is ok but the music is abit too loud sometimes. A lovely place nevertheless.

This review is for O Bar And Dining, Sydney NSW

Good experience for dinner especially at night rotating at OBar Dining, a million-dollar view of Sydney. If you go there, you can see the day changes into night. We were taken to a table for 2 people where you sit side-side (like in a cinema), so we can look at the views while having dinner. We ordered lemon lime bitters for drinks and had the scotch fillet and BBQ lemon chicken for our mains; followed by a mango cheesecake and a hot chocolate souffle as desserts. The main were just ok but the desserts tasted delicious. The staff were courteous and professional. The items on the menu were reasonably priced which you would expect for a place with rotating views.

This review is for Bello Cafe, Sydney NSW

Café Bello is great when it comes to having a casual meeting or lunch over a coffee or light lunch. They have nice coffees, muffins and cakes for breakfast. I always ordered the chicken burger with salad and fries for lunch which is a special item on their daily board. Always only made when ordered so it's fresh and delicious. Price is competitive and the service is good. Only a a small problem is that if you sit in the area outside, the smoke and smell from the restaurant next door gets blown to the area outside and your clothes might smell of the smoke and smell.

This review is for Coast Restaurant, Dawes Point NSW

My husband took me to Coast Restaurant for my birthday dinner. Beautiful fine dining setting, overlooking the Darling harbour with sunset. Very romantic after sun has gone down and they placed tealight candles on all tables. We ordered the 5-course tasting menu which includes the crab as the entrée with roasted lamb rump and barramundi as the mains. They are very delicious! We also ordered some fresh oysters on top as well. Excellent service in which the wait staff kept folding up my napkin and placed it back on my table everytime when I left my seat. We have a Dining discount card which entitles us to a discount at the restaurant, so it was a really good deal!
