Purchased 1 x Single Seater and 1 x 2 Seater Recliner Chairs from Far Pavilions at Carseldine in Brisbane. I had no opportunity to unwrap and check the condition of the goods as the delivery driver dropped the chairs and left immediately.

When unpacked I noticed that the foam padding in the right arm was flattened on the front section. This caused my arm to rest at an unnatural angle given the uneven surface. I rang the sales person who referred the issue to their Customer Service department. I was contacted by customer service who requested photos of the affected area.

Photos were sent and Customer Service acknowledged the problem saying that the chairs are packed very tightly on the ship from China and this has caused the damage. They then suggested that they send someone around to reupholster the arm but I requested a replacement chair. My request was refused.
I rang the sales person back again and told her the story. She agreed that a replacement is a reasonable request and said that she would put my request to her manager.
Customer Service rang back and tried to book the onsite attendance of the upholsterer. I indicated that this was not acceptable to me and that I had spoken to the sales person again about the matter. The Customer Service representative then indicated that the sales person had passed the matter back to Customer Service once again.

I then tried to explained that the display stock in the store was undamaged and my friend who purchased the same recliners at around the same time received undamaged stock and I expected the same. This request was refused again.

I believe that my request for a replacement chair is reasonable.

3-04-15 Further to this initial post, Far Pavilions Customer Service rang me and offered to exchange the chair. The change over was effected two weeks ago. Very happy with the outcome.

Approximate cost: $2100

Ordered an RJays motorbike helmet. Took several days to arrive and when it did was damaged. So contacted Motorbike City and the guy told me to return the helmet directly to RJays in Sydney. which I did. When I asked for payment he asked for my bank details and a scanned Post Office receipt which I duly sent him. I returned the helmet on 29th July 2014 and to date I have not received the replacement despite all this guy's assurances. It took me several phone calls to get the refund for the return but it was put back on my Pay Pal account instead of my personal account. Given that the helmet had still not arrived I opened a dispute with Pay Pal yesterday and they have agreed to refund $155 minus the $25 that they had already refunded to me for returning the damaged helmet. The original purchase price was $180 so I am still out of pocket the money that I paid to return the helmet. I received a damaged item and do not think it is reasonable for me to pay the cost to return it.

Approximate cost: $180
