This review is for Grumpy's Brewhaus Restaurant, Verdun SA

If you like your beer, then Grumpys is the place for you! They do their own microbrewing, making full bodied beers that can't be found anywhere else. On top of that, they pre-mix beer recipes so you can (try) to go home and replicate their beers with your own home brew kit. Staff is always friendly, making you feel like a local every time, and they prepare some magnificent pizzas too. Nothing like sitting down to a few pints of microbrew whilst eating pizza and chatting with friends!

This review is for Tusmore Pizzeria & Cafe, Tusmore SA

Cafe? I'm not sure about that. They do a mighty fine pizza though, although they are rather expensive. Lots of toppings, especially cheese. The staff wasn't that friendly, and the service is rather slow (took 40 minutes to prepare two pizzas last time I visited them), but if you're after a quality pizza, then it's well worth it.

This review is for Alphutte Restaurant, Adelaide SA

verified email - 11 Nov 2009

Alphutte is quite an amazing restaurant - their food is magnificent (I had such a tender piece of lamb last time, it was to die for!), although their portion sizes are rather small, as is the case with most high-end restaurants. They have an absolutely amazing range of wines but half of them will blow your budget, so if you want to eat and drink well at Alphutte's, then get someone else to foot the bill! An amazing restaurant though, if you can afford it, then definitely pay them a visit.

This review is for Broadway Fish Shop, Unley SA

verified email - 06 Nov 2009

Broadway fish shop prepares wonderful fish, last time I visited there they were quite large and cooked to perfection. Their chips were nice, but were a little heavy on the salt. They have the usual assortment of fish and chip shop options, and although I haven't tried them myself, the guy before me got served what looked like an extremely tasty burger with the lot (will have to try it next time!).

This review is for Earl Of Leicester Hotel, Parkside SA

As you can see, several reviewers before me have mentioned the HUGE schnitzels that these guys produce, which are both well priced and delicious. They also do fabulous fish/crumbed prawn and chip baskets. I can't say I've tried their vegetarian options, but if you're a meat-lover, then you won't be disappointed!

This review is for Semaphore Hotel, Semaphore SA

verified email - 05 Nov 2009

Semaphore Hotel is located on the beach front and has a beautiful view overlooking the beach. They have both bar sections as well as a well fitted dining section, where they produced high quality pub meals that are both large and well priced. They focus on classic pub food (they do a mean chicken schnitzel), but they also do a fabulous curry of the day.

This review is for El Dorado Pizza Bar, Hawthorn SA

verified email - 05 Nov 2009

El Dorado produces very high quality pizzas for reasonable prices. Of course, the prices don't compare to the chain stores, but then when does a chain store sell good pizzas? Generous with the toppings, does a wicked supreme and a very nice vegetarian as well. Staff are friendly, service is good, and although it can be a little expensive, you get what you pay for!

This review is for Lemon Grass Bistro, Adelaide SA

verified email - 04 Nov 2009

Lemongrass is a relatively low key restaurant located down Rundle Street. We recently held an 'end of year' dinner there, and they threw an excellent banquet upstairs. They have a large variety of dishes, most of them are very fresh (and often they are quite spicy!). Service was excellent, food was delicious, price was very reasonable.

This review is for Lemon & Lime, Adelaide SA

verified email - 04 Nov 2009

Lemon & Lime cafe used to be a mainstay for myself and my work colleagues. It prepares a relatively large variety of fresh Asian cuisine, never skimping on the use of lemongrass, chilli and ginger. My particular favorite was lemongrass chicken, extremely flavoursome and very well priced. It's a difficult location, being surrounded by numerous good quality restaurants, but they can definitely compete with the best.

This review is for Cafe Astros, Hawthorn SA

verified email - 04 Nov 2009

Cafe Astros ai located on the corner of Sussex Terrace and Angus Street, Hawthorn (next to the auto repairer). They are rather expensive for a cafe, charging about $20 per main, but their portion sizes are huge and well worth the price! They do a wonderful vegetarian Moussaka, so if you're in the neighbourhood, drop on in!

Approximate cost: $20
