returned after being away quite some time and i was taken with the corn & coriander fritters with avocado, tomato relish & haloumi cheese + berry smoothie [18.50 altogether] highly recommended!

a good friend discovered this relatively new Malaysian eatery on Church St & wanted to try it out ... for a fast, yummy, reasonably priced lunch, it sure hits the spot!
being relatively new, the place wasn't packed, but i suspect it won't be long til word gets out :)
I ordered a beef penang laksa that .. tasted Ok .. with a very yummy coconut juice inside a real coconut!
service was good & efficient...
I look forward to try other menu items too ;)

needing quality, friendly, caring, service & advice for your eyes - and maximum benefits if you're with BUPA private health cover? [here's a members first provider] this is a fantastic place to go - I've had nothing but positive experiences and interactions with most of the staff there -- Dan, Daniel, Rico, Kylie, Rosanna, they make eyecare something to look forward to!

a beautiful, friendly, warm, family run business who did incredibly well to cater for our group of ~ a dozen when there were already 2 other groups celebrating birthday dinners there as well! (although it did get very noisy in the small indoors dining area!)
I had the beef ravioli for $24.50. delicious! everyone in the group was very satisfied with their meals, and we look forward to returning!

when my friend told me about the idea behind this place i knew I just HAD to give it a try!
ie pay-as-you-feel, run entirely by volunteers & donations from diners
Caring for people: Providing a wholesome and nutritious meal where money is not a concern.
... though they serve vegetarian food only and i was in the mood for something meaty, it felt great to be eating at a place with a fantastic philosophy behind them!
we got there ~ 6:30 and the place was bustling, we were blessed to get 2 seats quite quickly, but by the time we left, there was quite a queue of diners waiting to get in!!

So, if you plan to try it [and I'd say it's a MUST!], be advised to get in before 7pm ... chatting with other diners in the friendly community atmosphere is another big plus too!

it's very conveniently located right next to Southbank cheap movies @ cineplex - the perfect choice when wanting a quick, yummy, healthy bite to eat just before a movie :) together with a friend at noon, the place was quite full, and we ate 7 plates between us, with a coupon from the entertainment book, total bill = $30.46 :) I'd give it more stars for value considering you're not actually getting a whole lot for the price of each plate, however, it's surprising how filling good sushi can be! (be warned, it's SO easy to eat more than you need with the deliciously tempting offerings rolling before your eyes as you eat ;)

I ordered the ravioli con carne - $20 with mushroom mix [pithy serving, then again, it was only $1 extra] + ricotta cheese,grlic & chilli .. the serving didn't seem to be huge (for the cost) , but was most filling! they had a nice setting - I'd recommend the upstairs dining area! they have an interesting wa of ordering & paying with their card system, just ask their friendly staff & they'll explain to you how it works ;)
the desserts looked very tempting, but I was sure I could find better elsewhere for the price ;)

new years' eve & looking for a good place for brekky - I had a coupon for here in the entertainment book [25% off total bill], business was buzzing but we were still served well enough :-) they had a large indoor/outdoor seating area, I had their 'be fit' brekky - delicious! with a great chunky & seedy slab of sourdough toast + a berry smoothie full of real berry chunks (not just berry syrup flavoring)
$29.55 for the two of us, not bad~!

hooray for entertainment book discounts~! :)

we wanted sweet potato chips but they were out of sweet potato that day!
so we ordered potato wedges - but it came out as normal chips! :'(
my friend & I were one of the first to order, but when another table got their food before us, it turned out our order had been forgotten.. :S

oh well, the food was delicious - I had their homemade lamb pie ... but I wouldn't really go back unless I had another coupon :P

i tried the mini duck salad on 2 small lettuce leaves ($7.90), with a grilled salmon penang curry with roti - YUMMO!! ... worth a revisit in future :D
