Runaway Wok is a favourite of mine for take-home Thai food. There's a wide selection of dishes on the menu including stir-fry, noodle dishes and Thai curries. It's great tasting and a good choice for sharing with friends.

I needed directions to Richmond Park and other attractions in the Richmond Valley region. I was assisted with a map and a number of information pamphlets.

I carry a netbook with me when I tour our great country by bicycle as it contains some of my maps as well as allowing email contact with family and friends.

While travelling through Casino NSW I had a need to print a page. I found Computer I.T! They were great!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. And I got my page printed.

This review is for Steak Barn, Casino NSW

I can only vouch for the fixed-price dinner enjoyed last Saturday Night. On other nights besides Saturday I believe the Steak Barn has an a-la-carte menu that offers a variety of dishes including chicken, lamb, pork, beef and seafood.

I'd been travelling through Casino and the Northern Rivers region of NSW, and thought the hospitality shown by hosts Barry and Lorna was real friendly! To me the fixed-price dinner was really good value. I ordered the Rump Steak as the main dish ... it was a large steak and it tasted great! You need not order the Rump as there were other varieties of steak and main dishes available (eg. chicken).

As well as the main dish, the fixed-price dinner included a plate of pre-dinner nibbles, choices from a large salad / vegetable bar, and choices from a big range of mouth-watering desserts. There was plenty to eat.

There was also this terrific performer who played what I call easy country music. He played the type of live guitar country songs that you can toe-tap and dance the night away.

A great meal and a great night!

This review is for Clydesdale Motel & Steakbarn, Casino NSW

Barry and Lorna are very friendly hosts and made my stay very comfortable.

The motel is surrounded by lush green paddocks so you get that out-of-town quiet country farm feel while still being a very easy drive to the town centre of Casino.

My room was very clean and tidy with plenty of room. There was plenty of bench space to unpack items and a table (handy for the netbook and for eating the in-room hot breakfast). Tea, coffee and refrigerated milk included. Loved the wall mounted LCD TV with Austar channels providing a very clear picture as well as plenty of channels of television viewing on the remote.

I'd recommend staying a Saturday night like I did and enjoy a fixed-priced steak dinner (or your own choice of main meal) at the Steak Barn. It was great! The dinner included pre-dinner nibbles, a large salad / vegetable bar and a choice of mouth-watering desserts. There was also this terrific performer who played country music, the type of live music you can toe-tap and dance the night away.

Thanks Barry and Lorna for a great night of hospitality!

This review is for Casino Mini Railway, Casino NSW

verified email - 05 Oct 2010

Had a great time winding through the beautiful wetlands of Richmond Park on the Casino Miniature Railway. First train trip was hauled by diesel locomotive #1207. A second train trip later in the day was hauled by a miniature red steam locomotive. It's about a 20 to 25 minute train ride.

We were at Casino for the long weekend and were at the mini railway's 17th anniversary two-day birthday run. Very enjoyable for the whole family.

The train drivers and members of the Casino Mini Railway are very enthusiastic. You could tell by the detail that much time and work has gone into the planning and construction of the locomotives, railway carriages, track work and railroad buildings of this mini railway.

Part way through the train trip you can disembark at the old Casino Train Station which has been developed into a railway museum. The railway museum contains photographs and artifacts of Casino's railroad history.

We purchased hot pies from the kiosk and ate our picnic lunch at the sheltered tables provided.

The railway runs every Sunday 10am to 4pm, also public holidays and throughout Beef Week (May?). I recommend you visit their website to look at their photo gallery and to enquire about special functions.

To find Richmond Park and the miniature railway, head north on West Street which becomes Summerland Way (Route 91), cross the train line, its on the right just after the golf course. Turn right into Queensland Road for car parking. It's an easy drive from Lismore. We came from Byron Bay, but it's an easy day out from Ballina, Lennox Head, Bangalow, Alstonville and the North Coast area.

Note, you need enclosed footwear to ride the train.

Say you found the place using WOMOW!

Will definitely come back!

If you are looking for budget clean safe accommodation, you can pay between 60 to 90 dollars a night and stay here. It has everything you need, the room was very clean and the aircon is really nice.

When I checked in, I was warmly greeted by the owners Brian and Mary. Brian showed me to the room and showed all the facilities available. The bed was soft and very comfortable, no complaints there. I even got a covered car park right next to our room.

It's very close to the Broadwater and there are plenty of shops close-by. Surfers Paradise is a 5 minute drive to the south and the theme parks are a convenient drive to the north.

I recommend this place.

I've been using Paypal Australia for just over 2 years. Very happy with their service. I prefer to pay online with paypal as it reduces disclosure of my CC details. The system has been robust and dependable.
