This review is for Maxi Foods Supermarket, Upper Ferntree Gully VIC

This is a really well set out Supermarket. The aisles are wide and the shelves are generally well stacked. Their specials are really good and value for money. Maxi Foods is great for finding obscure and exotic items. You can cook pretty much any dish because you know that you are going to find the ingredients at Maxi. They stock brands that the big chains do not bother with. They are also fantastic in helping small food suppliers getting shelf space. For example years ago we discovered Carmen's Muesli at Maxi Foods. At that time the only place that we could find this high quality muesli.
Maxi is not a multi national supermarket conglomerate and therefore they have the flexibility to help start trends rather than be a follower when those trends are already well established.
Parking is also great.
The only flaw is that sometimes the vegies are a bit past their best. Usually they are pretty good about bagging them up and putting them on a discount rack. I have been caught out twice when I have asked my daughter to bring home vegies for me. The beans that she brought home were limp and very disappointing. I only mention this for accuracy as it is very rare that I am disappointed with Maxi Foods.

Love going to Spotlight. It is a big mega sized store and has everything that you could possibly want. I went there recently and they had put out tables and tables of bolts of fabric all selling at $2.00 per metre. This is great value for money. Spotlight has a huge range of products all in the one location. Easy parking without having to worry about shopping centre crowds. Where it lets itself down badly is that they do not always have enough staff on the fabric cutting tables. It is good that they use a numbering system but a wait of 25 minutes to have your bolt of fabric cut is unacceptable. The problem is that you may have one customer with 10 bolts of fabric all needing to be cut to specific sizes. This then blows the queue wait right out. It is not the staffs fault. Management should have more staff available when they have huge sales.
The store is great if you know what you want and don't need any assistance. Sometimes you will find the young staff standing around and talking at the counters in their section-you have to interrupt them to get their attention.

Attended a function in the Tabu Lounge. The room is brightly lit so it lacks atmosphere. It is a plain room although the couches are super comfy. Finger food was supplied-this was plain pub food. The room needs a decor overhaul.
Drinks were served at bar prices and we could purchase bottles of wine instead of having to buy a glass of wine. The alcohol was reasonably priced and there were carafes of ice water on the bar-which meant that people could pace themselves and drink responsibly.

Fantastic store where I purchase all my large electrical items. Needed to buy a fridge recently and researched what I wanted on the internet. Rang Clive Peeters with the make and model and asked for a price. Was quoted RRP and I asked if they could better that. I told Stacey the best price that I had obtained and she said that she needed to speak to her manager and get back to me in 10 minutes. Stacey rang within 10 minutes and advised me that the manager was happy to match the price but they needed comfirmation where I obtained my bargain price. I told Stacey the webpage and retailer and she said that they would get back to me in 10 minutes once they confirmed it. Less than 10 minutes later, Stacey rang and advised me that they would match the price. I advised Stacey that my husband would be in that evening to make the payment. My husband just walked in and paid. It doesn't get much easier or better than that!

Have eaten there several times and enjoyed the experience. Coming from a Greek background(like the owner my father too was from Rhodes) I have grown up eating Greek food. This is authentic Greek food, tasty and well cooked. I bring friends that have not had exposure to Greek food and they really enjoy it. Once we ate there on a night when the restaurant was pretty empty and service was slow. Another time it was packed with patrons and service was quite fast. The staff are young and perhaps not as exposed to Greek food as one would expect from waiting staff in a Greek restaurant

This review is for Metro Cinemas Boronia, Boronia VIC

A small cinema complex in the heart of Boronia. It is not part of the big megaplex cinemas that you see nowadays. Cosy, small and intimate. Easy to get parking right out the front. Excellent value for money and is even cheaper if you become a card holder.

Love having the porterhouse steak. Decent servings. Variety offered with a specials board. Friendly staff. The outdoor dining helps create a relaxed social atmosphere. Great local cafe that provides value for money.

This review is for The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne VIC

Stayed at the Windsor as part of a package which included dinner, a suite and breakfast. The customer service of this 5 star hotel is outstanding. Attentive, courteous and interested staff. Champagne on ice was waiting for us when we entered our room. Housekeeping checked later on in the afternoon to see if we needed any more ice etc. Dinner that night in the restaurant was divine, a melt in your mouth meal although the serves were small. Overall it was a fantastic weekend away.

This review is for Stamford Plaza Melbourne, Melbourne VIC

Stayed at the Stamford Plaza as part of an online package. Was disappointed with this 5 star hotel. Check in was very robotic. There was only one other couple before me so it wasn't like there was a big long queue. Staff rushed check in procedure. It was factual, to the point and totally lacking in any wamth or friendliness. The room was nice enough although the kitchenette had not been cleaned properly.

A great little coffee/cafe shop. The breakfasts are great and they also offer vegetarian dishes. You can get such things as a standard chicken snitzel style sandwich or you can try a few delicious vegetarian options. The serves are generous and the staff are friendly. It is great value for money.
