I got so many different quotes for my car and contents insurance and aami were by far the cheapest around and offered better incentives for less money. I was absolutely astounded by their internet call back service. When navigating the website, there is an option of a call back if you are requiring any assistance and when I clicked on that an aami representative called me in less than 2 minutes, I could not believe it. What a pleasant surprise. I do believe that aami are amongst the best insurance providers in Australia

i do have car insurance with AAMI and when i had an accident, i paid excess and let AAMI to fix the car. They promised to take 2 weeks but, after 2 weeks, they said they will take another 2 weeks to fix the car!!!!!!! is this reasonable? i don't think so. I am very curious how AAMI is controlling their panels and organise themselves.

Approximate cost: $500+

I have had to have my car repaired on two occasions (4 years apart). The first repair was where I had cut a corner in a car park and scratched the side of my car. The car went in for repair and when it was returned to me there was hair and bubbles in the pain. It had to be returned to have this fixed.

The second repair was after we had been caught in a multi car accident and had front and rear end damage. The communication from the Mount Waverley centre was appalling. I was told i didn't need to know what was happening with my car and they would could me when it was ready. I had to continually call them to find out how long I would be without my car. I was met with rude people that didn't want to assist me at all. To cut this long story sort - I received my car to find that the repair was not done well. The rear lights didn't fit in the car properly, there was polish throughout the inside of my car, there was grit in the paint work, my mazda registration plates where replaced with Holden ones. I told them I was unhappy with the repair and it had to go back. The team at the Moorabin centre (I couldn't bear to go back to the Mount Waverley one) were fantastic. They kept in contact, arranged a rental car at their cost for me. I received my car back but still there was a problem with the polish through the inside of the car. It will be fixed this weekend.

Overall they are cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. In saying that I don't know anyone that has had a easy run with any insurance company so maybe they aren't that bad???

The only reason I am not going to change insurance companies is because of the team at Moorabin.

Have been using aami now for 3 years and have had good service. Their premiums are a little excessive. I have not had to make a claim yet but they are very easy with payments and am now a rating 1

I had my vehicle insured with Australian Pensioners Insurance and when I had an accident, they directed to me AAMI. AAMI were extremely difficult to deal with and insisted that I go to a repairer that I did not wish to use. They had given he a quote and did not even have all the necessary repairs on the quote, AAMI INSISTED that I use this repairer or go away... Eventually we came to a reasonably amicable settlemenmt. I had the vehicle repaired elsewhere and then cancelled the insurance and went elsewhere,

Been with AAMI for many years and I was rated as a A1 customer.
In the period I have had a car fully insured with them for 10yrs and I recently got my brand new car insured with them.
When I had to file a claim with them from a theft of my car I have had nothing but dramas.
They are quick and happy to assist you when you are paying then money but the minute that you have to make a claim you are the bad guy.
I am still currently waiting to see if my claim will be honoured and am up to 2nd month of hiring a car off them. (more of my money to them as they are not speedy in processing claims)
I will be changing my car insuce company back to the NRMA.
