Excellent customer service

On Sunday 11th August 2024 I went there and I bought a Chocolate Ripple Baked Cheesecake but it was extremely nice of Desarae to give it to me for $20 since I called in at 11:00 that morning and that is what they promised me over the phone. Also I texted them a screenshot of the call I made to them.

I would recommend sticking to this Bakery and ditching Rolf's Pies altogether since their pies are much tastier and they are cooked to perfection also their pie prices are considerably cheap since you get 4 for the price of 6, which is such an amazing deal.

Allan's Bakery has been an institution in the area for a long time now, and no wonder! They're easily the best all-round bakery within a 20-30k radius - and I don't know many who come up to their standard outside of that! When I first went there, I gave them my standard sausage roll test. Most bakeries fail at that hurdle, but theirs are fantastic. Add a great range of products and services and a policy of only employing helpful, accommodating staff, and you have one of the eastern suburbs' best-kept secrets!

You will not be disappointed. In fact, you'll be delighted!

I went there with my Mum and Emina for morning tea. I had a Skinny Vanilla Milkshake, my Mum had a mochaccino and Emina and a Peppermint Tea. Also we shared a Custard Tart together. The staff were kind to us and the service was quick.

This is a great little bakery in downtown Kilsyth. Often get their pies which are a decent size with chunks of meat and very tasty. The bread and rolls are good and there is plenty of variety to choose from. We've also bought selections of their mini cakes and pastries which are yum for various events - the most recent being for a friends wedding. All fresh and delicious!

I went here for my wedding cake and was blown away by the customer service, quality and value for money.

I went in to see if I could arrange an appointment to speak to someone about my wedding cake and was told I could see someone immediately which suited my groom and myself fine. It was a little busy but they had more then enough staff members on so one was able to speak to us about our needs. They walked us through the process of ordering a cake, showed us several examples of designs they did and modified one slightly (taking a round design and making it square) at no extra cost.

The staff member was friendly, attentive and made the process easy for me. As I was getting married at Bram Leigh just up the road they delivered the cake and set it up on the day to the location so it was fresh, beautiful and delicious for the cake cutting.

I thoroughly recommend for any bride wanting a good, delicious cake which is great value for money and low on the stress.

Allan's Bakery & Cakes Cafe always has lovely, fluffy sponges to their cakes, unlike other places where you know right after biting in that it has been sitting there for too long. The cheesecakes are just as yummy and they offer several types. The flavours in their cakes can be surprisingly complex, with a personal favourite being the combination of vanilla, milk, strawberry and mango brule. A love of taro means also that the taro pastries at the Hurstville store are an answer to a craving.

My friend and I often have coffee here and also buy various breads, bread rolls, cakes and pies. The coffee is great - as are the cakes. Prices are very reasonable and there's always plenty of different ones to choose from. The pies are really good - again there's different types and fillings as well as the good ole plain meat pie filled with real meat and plenty of it. Yum! They also have the usual range of breads - as well as some not so usual. Like today I went there a little late and couldn't get a wholemeal loaf but there was an oatmeal one - it tastes fine and is nice for a change. The people serving are always friendly and helpful and the service is pretty quick. Highly recommended!

Service here is so very very bad.
I stood at the counter for almost 10 minutes while two staff members worked on decorating cakes. They didnt even take three seconds of their day to stop and say- be with you in a minute or call someone over to help.
The food range is wide but really not very tasty. The sausage rolls and meat pies are bland and the sweets have awful tweaks added that ruin the flavours like a previous reviewer mentioned (orange in the hedgehog etc)
I think the workers who make the food must be completely inexperienced or they might just be cheap on the ingredients

Not sure if it was only the day that i went there, but the products didn't really live up to what i expected. I bought an onion and cheese pie from memory and a sausage roll. Also a hedgehog slice. The sausage roll was HUGE! and very heavy. It was ok, but nothing hugely exciting. The pie i liked less again, the main problem being that the onion in it was huge chunks of onion, on the top of the meat inside, and the meat just tasted run-of-the-mill. The hedgehog slice was far too soft, and had a hint of what tasted like orange essence in it, but i could be wrong. I wasn't a fan. It's not a bad bakery that's for sure, but certainly not my cup of tea. It's a shame as it looked and smelt great! They had a good selection of cakes in there too in a separate section of their big L-shaped bakery.

I am amazed at their range of cake decorating supplies! I walked in looking for special gel colouring that I needed, to colour some fondant that I was making for my son's birthday cake. The staff served me immediately, offering helpful advice as well.

I was even more surprised at the counter, as the purchase price was much less than I expected to pay!

Very pleased with the old-fashioned courteous and helpful customer service I received.

Food is decent quality but the prices are astronomical!
Definitely NOT value for money, eg. one piece of ordinary tasting caramel slice is almost $4!
The quality of food in no way makes up for the excessive pricing. Sausage rolls and pies are not very nice but the other hot food is nice enough.
Positives: The range of food is fairly wide. Also staff are very lovely but really slow.

We went and had breakfast there the other day. The offer Bacon and Eggs and Pancakes both are fantastic and are at an affordable price. They also have pies, cakes etc. A well rounded place for everything. Great service and good atmosphere.

This is our local bakery and one we have visited for many years. The staff are really friendly and more than willing to assist in whatever way they can. We are particularly impressed with their cakes, they are always beautifully presented and we have absolute confidence in ordering a cake for a special occasion and knowing it will be just perfect. I would recommend Allan's Cakes to anyone as they are the best!

I ordered my wedding cake from Allan's and though it was close to what I wanted it wasn't exact. The flowers were nothing like what I asked for :(. If you do use these guys make sure you either a) bring in your own flowers or b) see the flowers they are going to use to make sure it's correct

Great value here, as you can pick up a cake or snacks for afternoon tea quite cheaply. I got a traditional jam roll for $4 that served 5 of us well. They are friendly, make great looking treats and most importantly - they taste delicious! My only wish is that they made more allergy sensitive options as I am lactose intolerant.

I buy my cakes from there, and the quality, design and price is great. I never know what I want in a cake design, and order with their suggestions. Every time, I'm in love with the creation they make. Will continue to buy my cakes from there.

The mud cake is amazing, and the orange poppy seed cake is to die for. The service is always good with happy smiles all round! They have a great little kids corner, so its easy going out for a coffee with friends AND the kids!

We are lovers of bakery items on weekend and after being to many bakeries, Allan's would have to be one of the very best. Have tried almost all of their pastry items (not on one visit of course) and many of their sweet items too. Always great quality and very tasty. The only downside to some of their sweet items would be the excess amount of cream they use in some of them.

Often stop in for some rolls, their cheesecake slice and bee stings are yummy. Their cake range is great, even had them make my son's birthday cake which turned out fantastic. Had a very disappointing sausage toll once which put me off their pastries. Overall a great little shop.

Have been buying their hot food and rolls for ages. Its a great place to sit down and have a coffee. A bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I will be back soon.
