Being a sucker for cheap food, I go to this restaurant at least twice a week. My personal pick is the pad yan tafor (spelling?). There is always a takeaway container full of leftovers for the next day! Service is fast and friendly,nothing too fancy.

Love the duck and mushroom stir fry for dinner. Off the lunch specials menu its hard to go past good old Pad Thai. Solid thai offering, I go there at least once a week.

One of my Newtown faves for a nice quiet beverage. The Courthouse caters perfectly to the hipster/alt population of Newtown. Great outdoor area, gets really busy, so get in early for a table. The food is good solid pub food, reasonable price.

Since the renovations, Kelly's lost a bit of its original dingy charm. Its best for afternoon drinks, as later on, and on the weekend its too loud to hold a conversation, and lines for drinks are a bit obnoxious. King St has better to offer.

I spend most of my time in the lovely Mitchell reading room. It is a beautiful book lined room with plenty of seating and natural light. The staff are helpful and competent, always ready to lend a hand.

The $10 specials are rad, I love Chicken Schnitzel night! Had the best homemade Honeycomb, with amazing dark chocolate dipping sauce. The only downside was the entree, I had calamari, and they were a) flavourless and b) chewy. Also, apart from the $10 specials its a bit pricey for what is basically pub food.

Favourite burger place. Huge meals for a reasonable price. Best fries in Newtown as well. Man, I love burger fuel.

Really expensive for just a burger. I ordered a lamb burger and it was dry and flavourless, with barely any sauce. Was so dry it was hard to eat. A few shitty salad leaves and no sides for about $16? Not worth it at all.

The $10.50 steak/schnitzel deals are what I live for. Every now and then I'll get a rubbish steak, but 80% of the time its delicious and a ridiculously good deal.

Sometimes the staff are more interested in talking to one another than actually serving customers, but the product is great. Always such a good price and can get just about any movie or series you want. Great place to go for a browse if internet downloads aren't really your thing.
