Ordered a bookcase and received a notification from their tracking telling me that the item had been delivered.

We checked outside, checked the neighbours house, the item was nowhere to be seen.

I then chatted to someone called “Tommy” who was totally dismissive of my claims. He told me to ignore messages about delivery as they were system generated. What???

The best they could offer was for me to arrange for another delivery date…..why when the item I have already purchased is in transit. In fact I called the courier company and they told me that the driver couldn’t find my house.

No, “Tommy” was not having any of this….this was somehow my imagination and I should ignore delivery messages from Temple and Websters own site.

I asked to cancel the order given there seemed to be no real resolution in having in delivered and I was told I would need to pay $30 to have it redelivered back to Temple and Webster.

So not only did I not receive the item, I paid for delivery twice.

NEVER, EVER AGAIN!

Drop-shipping company, good supplied via China or elsewhere. They provide you some sort of tracking number to appear as though the item is being sent via Australia however the status on this will not change for weeks.

read other reviews, terrible to do business with

purchased a number of items online - all of which were showing as in stock.

The post has been slow in general due to covid so after a week of waiting i contacted them to find out the status.

its turned out that my order has not even been processed as yet.

Why? Because ONE of the items is out of stock.

You would think that the logical thing to do would be to offer the customer the option to receive the balance of the order and disregard the one item that is not in stock.

No, Hearn's solution is to just do nothing - no communications at all with the customer - just leave it all on the shelf until the missing item eventually comes in - when? They're not sure. Oh, they say they tried to call me once, but i didnt answer - problem solved I guess?

You couldn't make this up.

Next was the process of trying to get a refund.

No response to emails or via their support channel on Facebook.

No response to a Paypal dispute that i filed.

In a last ditched effort to resolve the issue i have filed a complaint with consumer affairs.

Honestly, a shop like this is supposed to be associated with a relaxing hobby that is a break from the pressures of the real world, but instead, i spend my time chasing Hearn's inept staff and still getting nowhere.

What a shame such an iconic store has been reduced to this.

Approximate cost: $105

I purchased an item of these guys 2 weeks ago for which i paid via paypal, as i do with just about everything.

Anyone who uses Paypal knows that your delivery address comes through with the payment.

Macfixit sent the item to the wrong address - sending it to 618 rather than 61B.

CLEARLY this is a human error, an oversight as its very easy to mistake the two.

HOWEVER, Macfixit now claims it was me who gave them the wrong address.

Funny, none of my other PayPal transactions have suffered this confusion?

What are the chances if me typing in the wrong address for a house that i have lived in for 15 years?

What are the chances that a staff member has mistaken a B for an 8? More likely?

Human error is fine but Macfix have offered no help what so ever.

They have tried to blame me for supplying the wrong address and have left it up to me to chase Australia post to retrieve this item from their black hole.

And do you know what the item is? A $15 screwdriver.

Totally pathetic "service".

I'd really hate to have to dispute these guys on anything more expensive as you'll get no empathy from them.

Dreadful service.

Dreadful - why can't I leave half a star?

Stayed home all day waiting for these clowns to show up - nothing.

No call, no email, no attempt to contact me - they just didn't show.

There is no way of contacting them by phone - just a generic form on their website - so really, you are totally in the dark.

How they remain in business astounds me.

Very rude staff. They impose this ludicrous 'minimum $10 eftpos fee' which is a total wrought. The lady working there was quite happy to turn me and my daughter away unless we 'bought a coffee' to bring the bill up to $10. Never again. See Google reviews on this place before considering.
