This review is for Oxenberry Farm, McLaren Vale SA

Had not visited this winery before and found it very interesting. The history of the farm is celebrated which brings the past to life. The wine is shiraz based and the two tribes shiraz and grenache combination is very pleasant. There is a cafe which has coffee, pastries, light meals etc. Once again had my coffee fix after enjoying the tastings and buying the red wine. Worth a visit (at least I think so)

This review is for Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub, McLaren Vale SA

Enjoyed a half price lunch here recently. This hotel has an Irish theme and has large lounges to relax on if meeting friends or just having a drink. The panelled walls give a very warm and homely feel and the bistro menu is well priced even when not ordering the Half priced version. The penne is very tasty. Worth a visit and even a drive to the area if you do not live nearby

Really enjoyed our visit here. The milk for the cheese comes from the cows on this farm and ends up making the most tasty cheese. The whole enterprise is so well set up. On the days the cheese is being made you can watch through glass windows the intricate process. The tasting counter is spacious, the staff informative and friendly. The vintage cheddar was really bitey and our choice.

Also serve coffee and even have a coffee club. A few other products are available but the cheeses are wonderful.

This hotel has a bistro area and a dining room and both serve quality food. The bistro is less formal and the dining room is formal with well trained staff. Tables are set with cloths and glassware etc. A buffett is available at certain times and a very nice menu is avaiable. Your choice of dining.
The food is always well presented and cooked. Always enjoy a night out here

Really enjoyed tasting the wines here. A good selection of white and red and also port. The staff were most informative and helpful with no pressure. Really enjoyed the port and then the coffee we had in the cafe/restaurant. The estate had some autumn leaves which were attractive and peaceful. Children are welcome too as we noticed some things to keep them occupied.

This review is for Victor Harbor Tramway, Victor Harbor SA

This horse tram is a South Australian icon as well as a Victor Harbor one. It is one of the last horse trams operating in the world and is a marvelleous experience. Seating is available inside and also upstairs in the open air. The tram goes across the causeway to Granite Island that is part of the National Park system. If you are lucky you may see penguins. There is cafe/restaurant on the island and walks around the island too. It is great not to need to walk both ways across the causeway after seeing the natural sites. The horses are well looked after and rotated regularly and they seem to enjoy the task

This review is for Victor Harbor Beachside Holiday Park, Victor Harbor SA

Have been coming to this park for many years for short breaks. It has an atmosphere all its own being on the seafront and with the large pine trees which provide shelter. The facilities are clean and tidy and there are a few ensuite sites. Very nice cabins near the foreshore too. It is a well kept park and is always popular for a short break either in a cabin or with own van. Nearly and icon location in SA

After walking Ocean St we had coffee here. A small shop with white tables which are clean but clinical. Not the most welcoming atmosphere on a cold day but would be great in summer. A few outside tables too. The coffee was good and there is a light menu available for those that are needing more than coffee

This review is for Pa's Fish Cafe, Encounter Bay SA

verified email - 15 May 2013

Had lunch here today and ordered from the menu. The King George whiting was nice and so were the crispy chips. Apparently the fish came fresh from Streaky Bay. The meal was not large but adequate for lunch. The staff friendly and the cafe clean. Tables looked out onto Encounter Bay which provided a nice view. busy with the older generation eating in.

Took my grandson to his school basketball game here today. Very nice courts with a kiosk that sold snacks and drinks. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating to watch the game. Nice experience
