This review is for Jailhouse Grill, Launceston TAS

A group of us went here for our christmas dinner last year and was very disappointed in it. The meals were expensive and werent very nice. I had what was suppose to be a medium scotch fillet steak which come out very well done and was very tough. I think the waiting time for our meal was excessive. The salad bar was probably the best thing in there.
As for the staff i found them to be rude and unfriendly. I did not see a smile on any one of their faces all night. We were made to feel like we were not welcome there. Would definitely not eat here again

when i lived in Launceston I use to love going to flame grilled chicken. I love there seafood pasta and potato bake. They have roast chickens, roast pork and roast beef which you can order whole or just as a meal. Also they have a variety of fresh salads made up and drinks. what i like most about this store is that you can see where everything is being prepared so you know everything is clean. Only dislike i have is that the staff can be a bit rude when speaking and are impatient.
Some items are a bit pricey, this is why we only use to have it as a treat.

This review is for Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club, Mulwala NSW

I have been going to the Yarrawonga Mulwala golf club for the last couple of months and love going there. I do not play golf but it is a family friendly venue as well with bistro( which is open from 6pm daily), tab, gaming machines, bar, kids zone with playstations and claw machines. As well as the bistro they also offer light meals from the sand wedge bar during the day. The club also has a health & fitness centre as well as accommodation. I have not used either of these so cant tell you what they are like but I can tell you the light meals from the sand wedge bar are to die for. We went there today and i had garlic chicken patties with chips and salad which was only $8.50 and it was so nice and all freshly cooked. My partner had the deluxe hamburger and chips which had the hamburger, egg, bacon, lettuce, cheese, pineapple, onion and tomato. That also cost $8.50 which was a really good price for the size of it. We have been to the bistro twice now but the first time i didnt enjoy my meal ( which was suppose to be honey sesame chicken on rice) because the chicken just tasted like honey and the rice was cold. The second time i had battered flathead with potato bake and vegetables and it was really nice. As well as your meal you get free salad bar which you can go back to as many times as you want. There meals are cheap on tuesdays with 8 different selections for only $11 each. The sand wedge bar you can get deep fried food, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, lasagna, thai green chicken, salads, coffees, as well as a lot more. I especially like the kids zone where the kids can go and play the playstations that are available while the parents relax. I highly recommend everyone to visit Yarrawonga Mulwala golf club

I have been taking my pets to this vets for the last 10 years and have always been happy with there service. The last time i went there was when my cat got sick. They got us in straight away and booked our cat in for some tests 2 days later. When the results came in the vet rang me herself and explained that things werent looking good for our cat and told me my options. She was very helpful and explained everything in detail. We decided it was best to put him out of his suffering and the vets stayed open later for us to have it done that night and to spend some time with him. They were very nice to me and my daughter( we were a mess and couldnt stop crying) and were very understanding and considerate of our thoughts. Their prices were about the same as most vets but the good thing was that they let me pay my bill off over fortnightly payments. i thought this was real good of them.
They stock a well range of animal products and are open 7 days a week as well as after hour service. They supply an animal carrier if you need one as well to transport your animal to and from the vets.
i will certainly be continuing using this vet

Being new to the area and not knowing anyone, we were a bit wary of which mechanic we went to when our car broke down. we chose this mechanic and was very pleased with the service we received. We took the car there to start with cause car was a noise. Mechanic found what was wrong with it but had to wait for delivery of parts. Our car was there for nearly a week and we were kept well inform on what was going on at all times. The mechanic was very nice and wasnt worried about the car being in his garage with the motor and everything out of it(which he had to push outside and back in everyday). We were expecting a very high bill for the work that was done on it and how long it was in the garage but was very surprised when we received the bill. It was a lot cheaper than what we thought it would be. He had also given us a month from the day we got the car back to the day it had to be paid which i think is good for people that is on low income. I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone and will be taking our cars there all the time now

This review is for Young's Vegie Shed, Launceston TAS

when i lived in tasmanian last year youngs vegie shed was were i brought most of my fruit and vegetables from. they always have great specials and sometimes you can save 50% compared to what you would pay at other places. i think setup of the store is brilliant as most of the fruit is at eye level and you can see what you need straight away most times. the shelves are always well stocked. I like the clearance shelf the best as you can pick some really good fruit and vegetables up at bargain prices. You can buy loose potatoes as well as bagged potatoes up to 10kgs. sometimes you can pick up cheap whole boxes of relish tomatos or custard bananas, they normally are between $10-$20 box. The only thing i can find wrong with the store is that their staff arent very friendly.

This review is for The Biggest Lollie Shop In The World, Westmeadows VIC

We never knew this lolly shop existed till we stumbled upon it last year. The store is huge and stock all sorts of lollies from humbugs to nerds, aniseed rocks to gummi bears. They have all the old time favourites, american lollies plus the newer sorts of lollies. my whole family loves going to the lolly shop especially my daughter who loves buying their sour straps. The workers are all very friendly and willing to stop what they are doing to help you find a certain lolly. They sell bulk packets of lollies or smaller packets. They stock a large range of party items as well. We spend at least an hour there everytime we go. The last time we went on a holiday back to tasmania all our family put orders in for us to bring back with to them. We ended up spending $300 there. The bags of lollies are an excellent price, especially the bags they call reject lollies. You can pick these up for $1-$3 for a kilo bag. Normal prices range from $4.95 kg. The store is well set out and most things are easy to find after you been there once or twice. if you cant get down to melbourne to go to the lollie shop they will post items out at a cost

I won a voucher for this shop but had never been in it. I went in to use my voucher and if it wasnt for me having the voucher i wouldnt have brought anything. The shop had a rotting fruit smell to it and wasnt very clean. The signs out the front have specials on them but when you get inside it isnt all of the fruit like sign says. an example bananas were suppose to be 1.90 kg but when went inside the nice bananas were 4.00 while the bananas that were nearly black were the 1.90 ones. i think this is very deceiving to people that stop just to buy that item but find out when going into store it is old stock fruit or vegetables. Some of the fruit looks good but a lot of it doesnt. They also sell cordial, lollies, household supplies. I would say a lot of it has been in storage for a while as items are dusty and bit dirty on wrappers. I dont think i would shop there again unless it improved dramatically

This review is for Eastside Milk Bar, Ravenswood TAS

verified email - 10 Oct 2012

when I lived in Launceston last year i spent a lot of time going to Eastside milk bar in Ravenswood. I think they would do the nicest chips and burgers in the Launceston. There items are so cheap and the staff are extremely friendly. On top of selling deep fried items they also sell salad rolls, milk, bread and lollies. The store is always clean but is rather small so can get very crowded at lunch times. My favourite item in the store would have to be sweet chilli chicken schnitzel roll and the blue heaven milk shakes. they are a must to try if you ever go there

This review is for Dimmeys, Kings Meadows TAS

i found dimmeys at kings meadows to be cramped and untidy. The store it self does have some excellent bargains and if you dont mind hunting through the store to find them it is good. The staff could be a lot more helpful then what they are. I like shopping there to get bargains but would be better if it was tidier and staff were more friendly and helpful
