This review is for Two Seats Thai, Rushcutters Bay NSW

This is a fabulous cheap and cheerful place with lots of tasty Thai food that is full of flavor but not too spicy. I recently visited on a holiday to Sydney when I couldn't find a Indian restaurant that I was looking for. I literally stumbled upon this restaurant (which is tiny and does a lot of take away) and very glad I did.

Had the curry puffs and Pad See Eew - both of which were delicious. Would recommend if you like Thai food.

Approximate cost: $12

This place has very quick and friendly service. The curry puffs for entree were probably the best I have ever had. Unfortunately the main course of noodles (mee goreng vegetarian) were not as good but still very acceptable.

Would recommend restaurant particularly if you are looking for hawker style food of Malaysia.

Approximate cost: $15

This is a restaurant geared towards the many students going to Swinburne University. It is cheap and cheerful. They have a few vegetarian choices - which is not always the case with Korean restaurants. I had a vegetarian pancake (can't remember the name for it) and it was quite delicious.

This is a great little cafe that is actually part of the Kew Neighbourhood Learning Centre. if you go onto their website you will only see a small mention of the cafe on the home page - which is a shame as the cafe is worth a visit even if you are not doing a course at the Centre.

Recently visited and had a hot chocolate which was quite nice. They also have various light food selections.

In the warmer weather it is lovely to sit outside on the verandah.

Should note that the cafe is only open Monday to Friday during school terms

This review is for Patterson Locksmiths, Ringwood North VIC

We recently had to have the lock on the common door on our apartment changed.

Patterson Locksmiths quote was quite a lot cheaper than the other business quoting. Their service was really good. They called me up the day before to check on a couple of points. They turned up the next day and did the job very quickly with a minimum of fuss.

This review is for Malmsbury Bakery & Gallery, Malmsbury VIC

Recently visited with a large group of walkers. It is a lovely cafe with the choice of a garden setting or inside where there is also a small gallery.

Had a milkshake which was good and generously sized. Friends had coffees and cakes and all were happy with their choices.

Apparently the Dundee cake is very famous and there is a letter from the City of Dundee in the cafe praising the cake.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This is a regular stop for our bike riding group and we are always made to feel welcome. Hot chocolate was good (not exceptional) but apricot Danish I had was very nice.

Rest of the group was happy with their coffees and cake selection.

They also had a selection of pies which looked very nice but as we were only stopping for a coffee break we did not try.

This review is for Inter Island Ferries, Parkdale VIC

This is a great ferry service but it his quite expensive. It only takes about 15 minutes to get from Stony Point to French Island but a return adult fare is $24. If you want to take a bike it is an extra $8.

However at the moment they are offering free travel on the weekend for seniors - but would recommend you double check this before you go to make sure it is still in place

Approximate cost: $24

This review is for Stony Point Kiosk, Crib Point VIC

Useful cafe / kiosk if you are waiting for the ferry to go across to French island - in fact you have to purchase your ferry tickets form the kiosk.

Had quick cup of coffee while waiting and was ok.

They seem to be open quite long hours as they were still open when I returned on the last ferry back from French Island

This review is for Knox Tavern, Wantirna VIC

I have been to the Knox Tavern a few times and usually come back a bit disappointed. However this time I was pleasantly surprised. I decided to order the fish and chips from the Express Lunch Menu (which is much cheaper than ordering from the main menu) and it was quite good.

Approximate cost: $17
