This review is for French Island General Store, French Island VIC

Recently went to French Island for a walk with quite a large group of people. Towards the end of the walk we stopped at the General Store - which is the Island's only shop and it also operates as a cafe, with B & B accommodation and bike hire.

Prices for the drinks were quite reasonable given that everything has to be shipped across on the ferry. Coffee was good. The wood burning stove and the piano added a touch of character to the Cafe part of the store.

Definitely recommend a drop in if you are visiting French Island

went for yum cha with a large group of friends (the best way to have yum cha)

Had lots and lots of different dishes which was great value for about $25 per head.

Restaurant was packed (it was lunchtime on a weekend) so would recommend you book

Approximate cost: $25

Decided to have dinner a bit further afield and stumbled upon this restaurant in Wonga Park.

Food was good - had the set menu which was delicious but the desert did let it down a bit. Was dining with a vegetarian and they had quite a good vegetarian selection.

Would go back to.

Unfortunately had to take my cat to the vets and it turned out he was very ill. The clinic was very good at letting us know what options we had for treatment, likelihood of success along with estimate of cost.

Very happy with the caring service that was provided

This is a great chocolate shop for a treat but is quite expensive even comparing it to other boutique chocolate shops/ cafes.

had a classic hot chocolate which was nice (better than average) but not outstanding for the price.

Nice interior and opens late a couple of nights a week which is a bit unusual for chocolate cafes.

This is one of my favorite chocolate shops. For $5 you get q delicious hot chocolate. You can choose a flavor of chocolate (I chose peppermint) and have that chocolate used to make your hot chocolate. You also get a free chocolate which is absolutely delicious.

Service is fantastic. I have been going for a few years now and they still have the same serving staff - who are very good at their job.

This cafe has a really atmosphere. it is in the Victorian Gardens Shopping Centre. It is much nicer than going to the food court next door. What is also good is that they open later than the food court - which is good if you are going to the movies.

I had a good hot chocolate. The food menu is extensive but I find it a little expensive - but still good value given the quality of the food.

This review is for Lane Cove River Tourist Park, Macquarie Park NSW

Recently stayed at the tourist park in the camping section for a week long exploration of Sydney by bicycle.

Great location as you are near Sydney but in setting of a National Park. However not quite as quiet as you might think as the park is under a flight path and the planes do start early in the morning. Other downside is there are no eating places within a distance of the park. There is a train station about 700 meters from the park.

Overall a great place to stay in Sydney.

This is a very friendly winery. Not as fancy as many others in the area but the service more than makes up for it. the day I was there we were attended to by the owner who had an extensive knowledge of his wines as was more than happy share this knowledge. He also told us about other wineries in the area to visit.
When I was there they only did coffee and snacks but not meals - however this may change.

Unlike some of the larger wineries in the area they don't charge for wine tasting.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

Have been to this cafe quite a few times as nowhere else to go if you are riding the the bike trails around Jells Park. The definite plus for this cafe is the wonderful surroundings of Jells Park itself. The main issue I have is the service. At best it is ok at it's worst it's not very good. On a recent visit we were told that we could not sit at the same table (there was only 5 of us) as it was a health and safety issue. Managed to convince them that it would be ok if we all squashed up so we did not block any pathway.
