A fabulous Vietnamese restaurant. Staff are always friendly and service is very speedy. The food is cheap and there is plenty of it!! You won't leave hungry from here! Their bubble tea is also fantastic. Especially on a hot summer's day!

Approximate cost: $9

Terrible place to stay. With a name like Sheraton (and a self rating of 5 stars), one would expect excellent service and a fantastic room. Sadly no. Reception staff were not very welcoming and parking is basically non existant, unless you are prepared to fork out $40 for valet parking. Our room had a noisy pipe in the room that, on first query to reception, was "fixed". As they were fully booked, we were unable to move. And unable to sleep for most of the nite with the noise from the "fixed pipe". Also the air conditioning did not work and overall, an uncomfortable night was spent in this "5 star" hotel. VERY disappointing.

This restaurant has one of the best seafood platters I've ever had. There is plenty of food (don't other with an entree!): both fresh and cooked seafood and perhaps the best French fries I've ever had!!! It is expensive: $200 for the seafood platter. But as a once or twice a year venue, it is well worth the price. They also have a fantastic selection of wines that cater for all budgets!

Approximate cost: $200 for the seafood platter

This review is for Taco Bill Mexican Restaurant, Forest Hill VIC

Taco Bill is very hit and miss, but this is one of the better ones I have been to, service wise. The staff were very attentive. The food was as expected. However, our chicken fajitas has stringy and grisly meat. Not very appetising. Also, with the fajitas, sour cream, salsa and cheese were an extra cost. Much better quality Mexican (larger meals, approx same costs and ALL the trimmings included) can be found down the road in Blackburn at Panchos Mexican Cantina.

As an RSL member and regular diner at various RSL's around the country, this is perhaps one of the worst that I have been to. Staff at reception were VERY rude, maitre de berated us for not having a booking in December as "December is a busy month". The bartender served me 5 drinks and did not offer a tray. When one was requested, no assistance was given to place them on a tray. The food was ok, standard quality, nothing outstanding. A VERY disappointing dining experience. I would never go there again.

The BEST Indian food!! Fantastic, friendly staff who are always very accommodating; be it for making a booking or ordering take-away. Cheap, but not nasty! Fantastic value and quantity given for take-away and the orders are always speedily served. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. My favourite "I can't be bothered to cook" take-away.

Approximate cost: $12

After coming back from Malaysia, it was great to find a local Malaysian restaurant. The food was good and plenty of it. Next time, I'd like to try some more typical Malay food.

Forget the donuts.....drink the coffee. As a long black coffee drinker, it is amazing how many places can ruin a good coffee! The coffee at Lilydale Donut King is perhaps some of the best coffee I have ever drunk!

Approximate cost: $4.00 for a large cup

This review is for Lilydale Herb Farm Restaurant, Lilydale VIC

As the Herb Farm had a special Mother's Day menu, we booked in for a treat for the Mums. After sitting and waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to bring us water and take our orders, I had to approach a waitress and remind her that we were there. After our orders was taken (with much mixing up of how to cook our steaks) we waited over 30 mins AGAIN for our entree to arrive. Another trip to the counter was needed to inform staff that at 2pm and an hour after we were seated, we were quite hungry! Our order had not been put in by the waitress. The breads that arrived were very nice. Entree dishes had not been cleared away when our mains were served. Dishes were passed in front of guests noses and steak knives were not provided for those eating steak until later. We requested (twice) for a spoon to be brought to be able to serve the side serve of mashed potatoes. Dessert took a while to come out and cutlery was a little slow in arriving for use to be able to eat our selection. We were asked if we would like tea or coffee and it was only after one guest asked for a latte that we were informed the coffee machine was broken. That's fine, stuff like that happens, but we should have been informed from the start that coffee would be on an instant nature. The staff were apologetic (well actually one staff member, the other two young ladies did not come near us as much as possible) and our corkage fee was deducted ($20 for two bottles of wine).

On the plus side, the food was delicious. Very tasty and nicely presented. Just a shame that the shoddy service by incompetent (inexperienced??) staff ruined what otherwise have been a delightful Mother's Day luncheon.

Perhaps give it a miss.

Food? Fabulous....a great selection of different foods. Unfortunately the place is let down by the atrocious service! Staff were initially atttentive and then it appeared as if there was a shift change. Staff were in their own world, innattentive and evasive. The service really detracted from the dining experience. It's a good location, sand on the floors in the outside areas, but the service made the whole experience very disappointing!
