I got my first bass from Swop Shop. Great range and a price for everyone. Everything from cheaper to top end and vintage guitars. The staff are all very knowledgeable and happy to help. Prices are good, worth checking out if you kid is looking to pick up a new instrument. You can probably get something better quality for a lower price second hand.

Lord of the Fries was my saviour when I became a vegetarian. After 2 years of no mouth watering fast food burger, it was bliss. I've found the Swanston St store is probably the most consistant with quality. I'd also recommend the onion rings. Beware the chilli poppers - sometimes they're super hot and other times they're mild. Not good for people who don't like lots of heat.

A great original diner. Complete with dancing waitresses, chilli fries, shakes of all varieties and booths to eat in. Easily found on Chapel St it's a great little joint with lovely staff. Would be good for families as well.

Comfy chairs and a great vibe. I love going to Kent St in the summer for their Sangria and chilled out mood. Good place for friends, a fair bit of space for a crowd. They also have menu's for the restaurants either side and are happy to let you bring the food in.

Great little spot on Smith St. One of my favourites would be the rice cakes with the Caesar salad on the side. Never fails to get my mouth watering. Great range of veggo/vegan delights and a reasonable price.

I was really impressed with the quality of service I received from Rae & Bennett. This was my first time using a printer rather than printing my own work and I was really pleased with their work. I brought my images in on usb and they gave me a test print to check the colours with their printer profile before doing the actual print.
They had a quick turn around and I was able to collect my prints later that day.
Good range of high quality paper to choose from. I'll definitely be back.

Lovely quiet bar in Eltham. A little slice on inner suburbs life, with funky vintage furniture and some good food. Great range of craft beer/cider and they made a good coffee, too.
A few friends have had parties here and it's always a good place. Little courtyard out the back (used to be for smokers, but they've keep it smoke free now). Perfect on a summer night.

I really can't argue with a double happy hour. Two, two hour happy hours mean cheap $5 drinks (and not just basics!) Father's Office is tucked away, but gets busy by 9pm. Perfect for after work as you can always get a seat, but there is still a good atmosphere. Nice spot looking over to the State Library.
Great food as well - nothing healthy, New Orleans/southern inspired fried shrimp goes down a treat.

One of my favourite cheap lunch time ventures. You can fill a whole plate with little pintxos for a $1 a piece during the discount times. Good range of drinks (primarily a vodka bar) and a great atmosphere. Head to the elevator upstairs for sit down meals and a beautiful view of Fitzroy. Great for out of town friends.

Good little bar on High Street. Easy going bar staff. However didn't know didn't really know their scotch's and whiskey's. Cosy booths which are good for a small group of friends. Nice beer garden out the back as well.
