The owner is super friendly. He recommend Bo Kho a Vietnamese beef stew with french influence. The beef was super tender and the serving was generous. The flavors were ok but I preferred my friend's 'laksa' which was spicy, tasty and delicious.

Approximate cost: $9-11

Haven't tasted authentic Taiwanese beef noodles so not sure how this compares but the beef noodles here were tasty and there's also a lot of beef and noodle. My soup tho had two big chunks of ginger in it. Also ordered a side dish of pig ears, tripe and sliced tofu in marinade which was ok.

Sushi here is fresh. I had sesame chicken which was very tasty. My friend also enjoyed her tuna sushi. Also bought a pack of spring rolls, 6 for $2.50 which is pretty good value. They were small but flavorsome.

Approximate cost: $2-2.50 per sushi

Came here for Yum Cha, something everyone should try at least once. It involves choosing and tasting lots of appetizer sized portions. At Parkland there's a good variety to choose from but taste wise its soso. Had steamed pork rib (slightly bland), siu mai (a type of dim sim), a type of dumpling with meat and taro filling and a very flaky outer layer (this one is very tasty but the outer layer tasted slightly burnt) and lobok cake (fried lobok cake made with glutinous flour with Chinese sausage). Overall the dishes lacked a bit in flavor.

This place would be quite popular with students not because of the quality of food but because of the price. For $10 you can choose 3 curries, rice, naan bread and salad. The curry sizes were albeit small. I had butter chicken (the best of the three, but I must say I've had better butter chicken elsewhere and this one was on the sweet side), lamb korma (the lamb was not very tender nor tasted very fresh) and eggplant with potato (lacking in flavor apart from being hot). The naan was ok and the serve of rice was decent. The salad was a small portion of rough chunks of onion, carrot and cucumber (not at all appetizing). Overall a disappointing experience.

There's often a queue outside this place. There's a good variety of sushi (its not often I see grilled eel sushi and I'd recommend this as a must try, very tasty). I also recommend the chicken karage.

This buffet place is always popular and there's a good selection. My friends and I opted for both hotpot and char grill. Here you cook your own food and its a fun experience. For hot pot you can choose different bases, add veges, various seafood/meat/fishballs etc. There's also a selection of sauces (I recommend the sesame) and drinks. For the grill there's a good selection of marinated beef/lamb/chicken and also fish (spicy). There's also some cooked dishes like fried chicken and pickles like pig ear and tripe. The price per person isn't cheap especially if you don't eat much but its definitely something to try.

Approximate cost: $29

This sushi takeaway sells a reasonable variety of sushi. However when it comes to flavor, it is lacking. Ordered chicken karage and spicy pork. The karage itself didn't have much flavor and I couldn't taste any ginger. Even the small dollop of mayo couldn't save it. The spicy pork was better. Overall a disappointing experience.

The cookies here are not cheap but are indulgent. You can order a mixture of mini cookies so sample different flavors. The white chocolate macadamia one is delicious. The cinnamon one is sweet and fluffy and the chocolate one is also very good.

This is one of the better sushi takeaways I've been to. There's a good selection and the price is average around $2.20 per sushi. I ordered the chicken karage. The chicken had great flavor and I could taste the ginger (you should be able to taste ginger in a good karage).
