We had dinner in the restaurant one night before an event in the function room but we were very disappointed. Firstly there was no vegetarian option on the menu but they managed to find some vegetarian lasagne (very original!). My friends ordered a seafood dish and a schnitzel. Everything came out almost cold. The garlic bread which we ordered as a entree came out after the main meals after we asked where it was and when it finally arrived, it was that bake yourself bread but was still raw. There was no apology or even acknowledgement after we politely provided feedback.

This pub is across the road from work and we have been here a few times for drinks after work. Have also been here for meals and they have always been OK (although they don't really cater for vegetarians very well). They often have a band in the beer garden on a Friday night which is fun, and sometimes a DJ upstairs. The wine list is OK but a bit expensive.

A group of about 5 of us visited for my Sisters birthday. I was told that it has the best Vietnamese food in Adelaide but I had reservations. The décor is a bit rough (though that is not what we came for), and the service is only satisfactory, but the food was excellent. I am not a big fan of Vietnamese food (all Asian cuisine actually) but I really enjoyed the meal. My absolute favourite was the cold rolls. I would definitely go back for them – very tasty. If you like Vietnamese food (or even if you think it is so-so) go and try this place out.

I have had lunch at the Boatdeck Café quite a few times now. The food has always been good. I particularly like the pizzas. My favourites are the Salmon pizza (spring smoked salmon with capers, Greek fetta and rocket), and the Boatdeck pizza (napolitan sauce, sun-dried tomato, spinach, fetta & roasted pumpkin). Yum. Inside can get a bit noisy when it is busy, but not too bad. On a nice day, we try to sit outside under the umbrellas. The service is OK, nothing outstanding but as expected for a cafe.

I visited Assaggio with a large group (some being Italian) to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was fantastic. The décor and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We felt encouraged to relax and enjoy the fantastic food and wine, and the food was absolutely beautiful. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had a lovely night. The prices are quite high but the food quality and flavour combinations were fabulous and the service was excellent. An extensive wine list too. I will definitely go back.

The pizza is fantastic and the beers are good too. The staff are very friendly. When we visited they were quite busy so we had to go and sit out in the side room but it would have been nicer in the main section. The side room didn't have the nice atmosphere and the chairs in the were not very strong, a bigger person sat on one and the legs bent (oops). That aside, the Pizza topping combinations are very interesting and extremely yummy. I shared a Grumpy Goat (Wood oven semi-roasted pumpkin, blackened capsicum, olives, blanched spinach & Spanish onion, topped with Udder Delight's goat's curd and spring onion curls) and The Shroom (Field mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, kipfler potatoes with creamy marinated fetta and fresh herbs). Very yummy.

I have been here a couple of times now. The food has been good both times and the other people I dined with also had good things to say. A little pricey, but I guess you are also paying for the view. Not a lot on the menu for vegetarians or if you don't like seafood. Although I guess it is advertised as a seafood restaurant, it would be nice if there were other choices so larger groups of diners can find something they like. The restaurant moves slowly, but I am not sure that you would want it to move too fast considering you are eating. We did a full circle while we were there and it was great. The service is friendly, although we did get a bit thirsty at times.

Great bar. Love their 2 for 1 cocktail nights. The service is good - bar tenders are friendly. The bar gets very busy though and can be cramped but still a good atmosphere and a very interesting decor. The food in the restaurant is so-so. I have eaten there are few times now and generally everyone has said it was OK but not great and a little too expensive for what it is. So, eat somewhere else, but drink here.

These guys are great. I have had fish and chips, burgers and salads here and it is all very good. If you are going for a burger, get a vicious burger. They cost a bit more $10-13 but they have cheese, marinated eggplant, grilled capsicum and much more. Eat it fresh though. We often order to pick up and a couple of times when we got there out stuff was sitting waiting for us, so it wasn't quite as nice as it is fresh(chips dont really like plastic bags). Now we make sure that if they say 15mins we get there in 10.

This review is for Sangria Y Pintxos Bar, Adelaide SA

verified email - 26 Oct 2009

A group of us visited the Sangria Y Pintxos Bar on a night that we were booked into the attached Mesa Lunga Restaurant (also reviewed). We were surprised and a little disappointed to see that none of the Sangrias on the list that night were very traditional. We tried a few, but they weren't that nice. We ended up going next door to Mesa Lunga to get a carafe of Sangria that we liked (still not traditional though). We thought it was very weird that the two places didn't have the same Sangria menu (Mesa Lunga and the Sangria bar seem to be run by the same people). It was extremely difficult to get to the bar because people were sitting or standing at the bar drinking (not waiting for serivce) and were chatting with the bar tenders. The bar tenders didn't seem that interested in serving us, let alone answering a question about the Sangria menu. When we asked what was in one of the Sangria's he just pointed at the blackboard and said there they are (the blackboard was not that explanatory). All they seemed to want to do is chat to each other and to the young girls sitting at the bar and didn't seem to give a damn about serving anyone else. Of all the places in Adelaide, I cannot understand why people come back to this place. Maybe you have to be drunk and/or don't care about good customer service.
