I used to like this Target many years ago, they always had good clothes etc, and it was tidy and easy to find what you are looking for. Now, it's often messy, they change things around regularly, and it's hard to find staff to ask for assistance. Also, there is always a long wait at the checkouts to purchase things. The last time I was there, I was annoyed as I had a Westfield voucher, but they apparently don't accept them, even though they are in Westfield - they claimed it was because they have their own vouchers, but then so do many of the other stores that actually DO accept these vouchers!

We went to this cafe just after 3pm, after doing some shopping in David Jones. There was a sign saying "Please wait to be seated", so we waited for a while, though there seemed to be only one person there, and she was taking care of a customer who was paying her bill. The cafe was almost empty, so once the waitress was free, we got reasonably quick service. Oddly, there were no opening or closing times posted, so we were a little surprised when we were asked to pay just after 3:30 because the waitress wanted to close the till.

Between us, we had a pot of tea, a piece of cake and a cappuccino, which came to a little more than we thought they might, but they weren't ridiculously expensive. We didn't look at the menu, so I have no idea how much other stuff cost.

I liked that the place was well lit, spacious and not cramped. It was also fairly quiet in terms of noise - I thought there might be more sounds filtering in from David Jones, but there was very little noise at all, which made conversation easy.

We had cappuccinos and a piece of scrumptious chocolate cake here on a weekday afternoon. This place hasn't been open long, so everything still looks kind of new and bare. The service was quick and friendly, and the cappuccinos and cake were yummy. It was very quiet, but as it's only new, and it was an afternoon on a weekday, that may well explain it.

I often buy a variety of things from here. They sell fresh bread, cakes and pastries, as well as drinks and newspapers and sandwiches. The stuff here is reasonably priced, and there is always a nice selection of sweet and savory things. If you want a birthday cake, you can ring them and order one, and they'll do it for you with fairly short notice (i.e. the day before). I often buy the cheese sticks here - yummy!

I must admit that I was a bit dubious when I first went into this store, as there was just one staff member there who seemed a little hesitant, and I wasn't entirely sure if the place was actually open or not. Also, the prices posted in the window for their services were ridiculously cheap (haircuts starting from $10.99!).

I had a wash and cut (a basic trim, rather than a complicated style cut) which ended up costing only $20. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap the haircut was, it was exactly what I asked for, and looks neat and tidy.

If you are looking for pampering, plush surroundings and small talk, then this isn't the place for you - though it is clean, tidy and well lit. The furnishings were fairly basic, and the walls were bare of the usual posters and pictures of glamorous people with fabulous hair, but that suited me fine.

Approximate cost: $20

We discovered this newly open restaurant just recently [used to be a chocolate cafe!!] The service was friendly and prompt. The menu was easy to read as it included pictures of all the meals. There were lunch specials on offer for around $6 but the most expensive dish seems to be only about $9 anyway apart from hotpots for 2 people. I'm not sure we should be sharing details of this place as we'd like to keep it secret as it's such good value! Everything we ate was very yummy and filling.

Approximate cost: $9

I met someone for lunch here, as it was close to where I work, and convenient. This is a very small shop at the bottom of an office block, and therefore has a relatively small selection of food on display (precooked dishes in trays in a display cabinet), and only one or two tables inside, with most of their seating outside. What food they do offer they do well, and the meals are cheap and come in generous portions, however, what my friend and I ordered wasn't all that hot, though tasty, so I don't know how long it had been sitting there.

Approximate cost: $8

We had the buffet breakfast here (only available weekends and public holidays), and enjoyed it. There was a good selection of hot food, cereal, fruit, juice and tea and coffee and you could go back and have more if you didn't have your fill the first time round. My only concerns were that the coffee and hot water jugs weren't labelled, so very hard to work out which was which, and the serving utensils for the hot food were placed in containers of water after each use, which didn't seem very hygenic. I did like the fact that afterwards, we were able to walk off our over-indulgence by walking around the nursery and display gardens, although it was raining the morning we went.

Approximate cost: $22

This cafe is tiny, with barely enough room for more than 3 or 4 people to stand in to place their orders. There is one table inside, but sitting there probably isn't a wise idea with all the traffic in and out, and lack of space. There is a reasonable amount of seating outside, which is great on a nice day, but only two tables are under cover if it rains. I ordered two coffees and a slice here, to takeaway, and it was made quickly, and tasted good. The guy serving was pleasant, but I'm not sure how good his English was - admittedly he didn't say much, so it was hard to tell. They apparently do an all day breakfast, and offer a number of other meals as well.

I went here with my mum for coffee in the afternoon on a weekday. I had a hot chocolate, and a chocolate and cinnamon cake, and my mum had coffee. The service was fairly quick and friendly, and the drinks and food were good too. The cake came warmed which initially surprised me, but it tasted good, and had white chocolate (I think) melted over the top!
