If you are after some latest designer fabrics or you are after some fabrics for special occasions, you might want to visit D'Italia. They have the most beautiful and luxurious fabrics money can buy. Italian silks, cashmere, wool, cotton in many different colors and prints. Not to mention the most beautiful french lace imported from France (to die for!). If you don't mind to splurge, this is the place to visit to indulge your inner fashionista.

This review is for Sardes Quality Meats, Melbourne VIC

Sardes Quality Meats is the best beef stall in Queen Victoria Market. They sell wagyu, angus, cape grim, and even lambs and goat now. FYI, Rockpool in Crown serves Cape Grim beef. If you are after quality and taste, Sardes is the ONLY one I recommend. The meat is just soooo tender, juicy and full of taste and best of all, very fresh. Their service is excellent too. They can cut any size you want and any thickness you want.

My always go to chicken stall in QVM. They are specialising in free range poultry and game. All their chicken selections are of excellent quality. You can't go wrong with any of them really. My favourite is the Milawa organic free range chicken. I also tried the Glenloth free range chicken and this is also very good (smaller chicken so good for certain dishes) and even the cheapest chicken they have (no brand) is very good quality (good for roasting).

So far the best organic free range chicken I've ever tasted. Very juicy and meaty. They always raise their chickens longer than others before selling them (taking up to 10 weeks compared to others at 5 weeks). They use high protein vegetarian feed (they do not use fish or meat) and best of all, no GM, no antibiotics, no chemicals and no animal by-product additives. I always get this from the Chicken Pantry in Queen Victoria Market.

This review is for Cocoro Japanese Pottery & Cafe, Fitzroy VIC

I went here for a quick dinner on Friday. It was very pleasant. They had great collections of Japanese pottery. My husband and I ordered some salmon sushi (4 different salmon sushi) to share, green tea parfait, organic green tea latte and maple soy latte. All were served with beautiful pottery wares (I want their latte cups!). The size is quite big (bigger than normal nigiri sushi and shaped differently as well). The parfait was huge and the size of the latte was very generous. The taste? Surprisingly tasted very delicious. We weren't expecting much actually. We just wanted somewhere we could eat quickly cause we were in hurry and just decided on this place since it wasn't busy. But will definitely come back to try more dishes and to see if they sell those pottery :)

This review is for Melbourne Central Pharmacy, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 18 Jan 2013

I injured my leg on the way to work today so I stopped by at the MC Pharmacy to get some band-aids. I asked the girl who worked there if they have anything to treat my injury (assuming that I would have to pay for another box of band aid that I already have at home). Surprisingly she took an alcohol swab and some band-aids from the pharmacy's own first aid kit and helped apply them for me. She didn't charge for them (although I did end up buying an antiseptic cream since I had none at home). Great service.

Approximate cost: $10

I remember I went to this place several years ago to purchase some stage makeup for my boyfriend's (now husband) music performance. Great selection but slightly expensive. Highly recommended if you are looking for professional makeup for theater/stage or just for fun.

This review is for The French Lettuce Patisserie & Bakery, Carlton VIC

verified email - 14 Jan 2013

I went to the french lettuce yesterday to try on their vanilla slices since I've heard many good reviews about it. I also bought 3 pieces of macaroon to try on since I also heard good feedback regarding their macaroon. The vanilla slice is so far the best one I've found in Melbourne. It's the right amount of sweetness and soft as well. If there is one thing to improve that would be the crust (top) part. I found it a little too hard for my liking. I tried the salted caramel, rosewater and pistachio macaroon from them. Solid but soft and you could really taste the flavour. Very well done in my opinion. Out of the three I tried, salted caramel is my favourite. Will be back definitely.

This review is for The Family Love Tree, Elsternwick VIC

The family love tree is an online business. They sell gorgeous kantha (a type of embroidery from India) cushions and throws, rattan peacock chairs, rattan side tables, rattan lights, peacock bed heads and rattan storage. They are quite a new business. Their products are colorful, fun and bright. I love them. It's a little pricey but it's better quality than what you can find somewhere else (the kantha quilt I bought from them was waaaaayy better than what I bought from ebay). When I move to my new house, will definitely shop again with them.

This review is for At Your Service (Home) Hardware, South Melbourne VIC

Great place to visit if you want to buy hardware tools and building/home supplies. Quite a lot of varieties and they open 7 days so it's pretty convenient. It looks small from the outside but it's quite roomy inside. I love how they use the blue color to paint the outside too.
