This review is for Vitel Water, Deception Bay QLD

verified email - 10 May 2013

I found out about vitel water accidentally from product review website and thought I should give it a try to see if it'll work. I needed something to change the taste of the tap water. Before using vitel water, I already had a ceramic filter and was pretty satisfied with the result but I thought if vitel can do the same thing then it will be cheaper in the long run. It claimed it'll last forever so I don't need to buy filter every year and anyways I can reuse the old ceramic pot I was using. I've been using it for about a week now. The first batch of water using vitel was not good but the owner of the business told me that the taste should improve in the next few days and it did. After a few days, I compared the taste of vitel water to my filtered water. Both taste better than tap water, but vitel water taste softer. I'm pretty happy so far. I'll update again in a few years time to let you all know if it still work.

White magic is a business that specializes in selling microfiber products such as mop, cleaning clothes etc. I purchased their spin mop and some dusting clothes. Really love them. Very good quality and do the job very well and make my life easier. There are lots of cheap version out there but I tried a different brand spin mop before and white magic is easier to use and better. The only thing is that you can purchase white magic products cheaper at different website, so although I am happy with this brand, I suggest buying from other retailers.

Some of the doctors here are good especially Dr Edwards and Dr Trish and it's in the city so it's convenient for me cause it's nearby. You have to be prepared to wait though since it tends to run late. However, some of the receptionists are so rude and very unfriendly especially over the phone. Definitely needs to up their service level.

Heard good reviews about this place so decided to try for dinner. It was really busy but we still managed to find seats for two. The service was quick and efficient so we didn't have to wait very long for our food. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious. The pho soup was pretty good but not outstanding. The noodle was a little disappointing since I had better at other restaurants. The ingredients were not as fresh as Pho Hoang in Springvale. The serving was very generous though so you won't leave hungry. It was a pretty good experience but I won't travel all the way there just to eat this. If you are nearby though, it's good to check it out.

This review is for DR ZENAIDY CASTRO Dentist Melbourne, Melbourne VIC

Went to Dr Castro for dental check up and ended up having some white fillings work done. I had some white fillings done before by other dentists but they didn't look as nice as the works done by Dr Castro. Although I never done cosmetics work with her before, I could understand why there are a lot of good reviews about it. She did fantastic jobs with the fillings that they look very natural. Compared to the fillings Dr Castro did, my old white fillings done by other dentists look pathetic. Cost price is pretty expensive but about the same with other dentists in the CBD area. The dentistry is small but very welcoming. The staff are very friendly especially Gani, the dental assistant. They always greeted me with my first name and I feel like I'm a friend rather than a stranger. The dentistry always smell very nice and I love the aquarium a lot. It's beautiful to look at and the liquid rinse they provide to rinse after fillings actually smell and taste pleasant.

This review is for Kokoro Ramen, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 24 Feb 2013

I was a little skeptical coming here to try the ramen (Japanese soup noodle) since there are so many mixed reviews about this. Some say good some say not good so it's only just today I decided to try the ramen. When I saw the menu I straight away realised why so many people say something about the taste is "missing". They are MSG free. Most ramen shop everywhere usually put MSG to make them "tasty". So if someone who already used to eating ramen with lots of MSG in them try this ramen, you can imagine why they might think it's not that good. I ordered the chicken and seafood base stock with soft shell crab (I believe this to be a safer bet since there is no MSG but the seafood stock will give it lots of flavour). That turns out to be very good indeed even without MSG. The soft shell crab is also good and the noodle is not overly done either. However, my husband said my ramen broth tastes more like udon (another type of Japanese soup noodle)broth. He prefers the one he ordered (tonkotsu shoyu base - pork bone and soy sauce base) since it tastes more like the ramen he could find in Japan. I tried the broth he ordered and it tasted very good (however I find them a little bland since there is no MSG). But we will definitely be back to try more variety. And the good thing is at least we know it's healthier albeit less "tasty".

This review is for Gong Cha, Melbourne VIC

Gong Cha is one of the many "bubble tea" shops in Asia. They specialise in sweet tea drinks (usually served cold but may be ordered hot as well). Original bubble tea usually comes with pearl sago (with milk tea). However, if you decide to try Gong Cha, I suggest you don't bother with the usual pearl milk tea (they taste the same with other place but more expensive). Instead, I highly recommend their signature taste: the tea with milk foam. I found their tea very fragrant and the milk foam is a nice addition. You can either drink it from the cup without straw (and get that milk moustache) , with the straw and drink the tea and milk separately, or you can mix the tea and the milk foam (this is my favourite way). I haven't tried the other mixture yet but my husband loves the #2 most popular one (apparently it has that citrus taste to it). The plus of this place is that you can ask them to adjust the amount of ice and sweetness according to taste. Be prepared to queue though.

Better than expected. Not as painful as other Chinese massages. You can claim remedial massage (manually though) if you have private health fund. Price is reasonable. They are straight on massage place. No aromatherapy, no special ambient like the one you can get at the spa salon. So far many of them are pretty good and most times you can just walk in and you can get massage done right away so it's convenient if you have some pains that you want to get rid of straight away but you don't have time to wait for a booking.

Very delicious Vietnamese noodle soup. I tried the chicken combination. The soup is very light and clear (not greasy) and the raw materials they use are very fresh compared to when you eat them for eg. in the city. It's probably because they are located near to the market. They are the freshest Vietnamese noodle soup I've ever tasted in Melbourne. Will be back again.

This review is for Misty's 1950's Diner, Prahran VIC

verified email - 05 Feb 2013

I love the decor they use at Misty's 1950's. Vibrant colours, and little things that make you think "it's so cool". Misty's serves American food (think TGI Friday but better) and they also sell some American snacks, candies and drinks. In terms of the taste, this is probably one of the best American food you can find in Melbourne (if you are not a fan of American food, then you probably think there is nothing special about it. This is a review strictly comparing it to other American restaurants in Melbourne). I've tried the 24hr pulled pork french roll, the stuffed potato skins, the bucket of wings, Reece's pieces thickshake, and pumpkin pie thickshake. All the food were certainly better than what I expected. The sizing was quite generous but the bucket of wings may be a little misleading. It's really only around a dozen of them and for $20 a bucket, that's a little steep. The french roll comes with skinny fries and a dipping sauce for the side. My husband loves the sauce that comes with the fries. The potato skin was good too but nothing too different from other place (I probably should have been more daring and ordered a different stuffing - ordered bacon and cheese). However, it's the thickshakes that I would really come back here for. They are just soooo good. Especially the Reese's pieces thickshake. It's a peanut butter flavour, with cream on top and chocolate sauce, and some crunchy candies. I wasn't even a fan of peanut butter and was really worried that it might be too sweet, or just sickening but it's not at all. Love it! Certainly the best thickshake I ever had. I highly recommend coming here to try the thickshakes and just to enjoy the decor and the music (love the 50s songs!).
