The guys in the call centre are so knowledgeable and efficient! I feel like I have the right cover for me and I know it's limitations. They were able to explain the different levels of cover clearly and effectively to me!

After extensive research on different pet insurance providers, I decided to go with Pet Insurance Australia. The set up process was very straightforward and the policy coverage was clearly explained. I have not had to make a claim yet (and hope I won't) but I find the policy reasonably priced for the lever of cover it provides.

We didn't have to search far to see that Pet Insurance Australia was the best pet insurer to go with. Lots of great reviews, and policies with great prices to back it up.
Our policy for our beautiful Beagle Ruby was set up very quickly, and we basically forgot about it until unfortunately we needed to make a claim.
Once the claim started, everything rolled along very quickly, and we had our funds a couple of days after being able to take Ruby home. I am not sure if Ruby would still be with us if it wasn't for Pet Insurance Australia, thank you :)
And screw you paralysis ticks :(

This policy is great value, easy to setup and customer support is great. We have 2 dogs insured with them. Our minature schnauzer has had a lot of brain issues for the past 12 months and without PIA she would not still be alive. They covered her very expensive brain surgery in January and to this day continue to cover all the expensive medications and vet costs. Anyone who loves their pet should definitely get pet insurance and in my opinion this company is one of the best. Thank you to everyone at PIA- you have a customer for life.

I am extremely happy. I have top cover accident and illness for my dog. He recently had knee surgery 2700 and I was paid 80 per cent back.

My cat has been insured with PIA for three years, and recently clocked up a hefty vet bill due to
A blocked urethra. PIA paid 80% back. They required a full vet history sent but aside from a slight inconvenience it was pretty good dealing with them. They always asked how he was doing whenever I called, which was a nice touch!

Our beautiful greyhound was in extreme pain in November and required immediate admission for pain relief and monitoring overnight. A ruptured disc in his neck was diagnosed and required surgery. As you can imagine listening to our precious furbaby screaming in pain was the most distressing time for us. After his recovery, I was very pleased to see that the online procedure to claim was quite simple and once I had the required medical history to send along with the invoices, it was a very fast turnaround - from submitting the claim ( and text confirmation ) to receiving the payment into our account took just under a fortnight. Thank you PIA - I have already recommended you to two friends with new puppies.

It was a toss up between PIA and the RSPCA insurance. Glad we went with these guys. We have a Dane x Mastiff (huge boy) and he had ended up needing knee surgery. The process to get a quote before hand was available if we needed it so we would know how much we would be out of pocket, but we decided it didn't matter, we would be getting the surgery on the poor boy either way. Logging in to you account and lodging the claim on line was pretty easy. Pretty quick turn around... And... funds appear in your account. Staff, when you do need to speak to them, are friendly and make you feel that you pet is not just an animal but a member of your family. We would insure with them again.

I've looked into almost every pet insurance for my furbaby and finally decided to settle for PIA. My main reasons were: highest annual benefit limit, option for $0 excess (yes the premium increases with this but it's worth it when your vet bills are under the excess amount), online claiming option.
Always read the fine print, the wording is very similar for most insurance policies but there's always exclusions. Everyone is aware of the "pre-existing condition" clause and know that wont be covered but with pet insurance some policies don't cover pets after age 9 which in most cases is when they need it the most; i confirmed with PIA that my pet would be covered for their lifetime (condition being there has been no breach or lapse in cover, which i think is fair)
I've had good and bad experiences with their customer service but I don't think it's fair to ALWAYS have excellent customer service.
My one bad experience with PIA was when they knocked back one of the claims stating "a pre-existing condition" based on a nurses' notes in the history. Long story short: I challenged their decision and escalated it to their claims team to review the previous baseless decision with a letter explaining the entire situation, providing facts and a timeline. It took a few months, but in the end they retracted the "pre-existing condition" listing from the record. I haven't had any issues since then.
Overall I am definitely satisfied with PIA (especially given their response to the above mentioned incident) and think their policy is most certainly best value for money.
They could definitely do with a more user friendly online interface but that's a negligible fault when you consider the benefits.

Pet Insurance Australia have made the whole pet insurance thing so so easy. It was simple to set up, the premiums are great value and very competitive. Unfortunately for our pooch Leon we had to make a claim after being hit by a car (he is doing well and totally back to his bouncy self) but PIA was so easy to claim, they made the whole process so simple, straight forward, and quick! I was pleasantly surprised just how easy and professional it all was. Highly recommend!
