My son used TPG for several years. Had minimal connection problems in that time and found TPG great value for money just don't expect any help if something does go wrong - SERVICE is NOT included in their vocabulary. Even though I was the co sign on the original application when my son moved out (and I did the silly thing and told them) it was to take approx 2 months for me to be connected to TPG as a "new" user! I found ESCAPENET and haven't looked back. NO WAY I COULD RECOMMEND TPG

I had problems similar problems with TPG in the past, in another recent one in regards to disconnecting from them due to their inability to provide a particular service, and here is what i had to say:

reason for cancellation: adsl 2 unavailable in my area through TPG and is offered at a lesser cost through another provider with a much-much higher download limit.

I strongly disagree with a 30 day cancellation period and here is why: I think very little of the 30 day cancellation period. If I were to get disconnected from TPG today, my payment would still cover TPG without having to provide any service to me as a customer for another 22 days (nearly a month). However, instead TPG would like me to pay for another 8 days which would in turn amount to a full month/30 day notice. If I were TPG I would take the 22 day payment (approx $43.80) without having to provide the service, instead of the 8 day payment (approx $16.50) with having to provide the service. I'm not even going to mention the time spent being a loyal customer, and the money that you would've gotten out of me alone in that period. I am merely getting a point across that you guys lack in logic by which you are only hurting yourselves and your reputation, but which in turn will result in a profit decline. (unfortunately I know that only the latter struck a cord with you). I will definitely post my thoughts on this where it'll be picked up like wildfire. I can afford the 16 bucks, can you afford to take my 16 bucks...? I don't think so.

the best of luck to you,

your disappointed customer

When we originally signed with TPG my son was only 17, didn't turn 18 for 3 months, so I had to sign the contract for him. At that time I had never touched a computer! We stayed with TPG for several years until he moved out - thats when we struck trouble. We had made the error of telling them he had turned 18 and I gave him "authority" over the account. When he moved out he took the contract with him. I asked to be connected under my own name but they had to do all the security checks and CHECK THE PROPERTY HAD INTERNET ACCESS available and this was to take a minumum of 2 months! All they had to do was check their own records to see it had internet access but no I had to wait so I told them where to go and joined ESCAPE NET. Best thing I ever did.

TPG is by far the most economical internet company. My plan is $60 per month with a download limit of 120gb (60 on peak 60 off). None of the major telcos can come close to this. I used almost all the big providers and the customer service is terrible. TPG is the best I've used so far.

Approximate cost: $60

The Internet Service from TPG is really good and the customer service is very good. The phone rental for $1 is very cheap.

the download limit on tpg is far better than anyone else and the speed is great. does have a few patches where it will keep disconnecting for a while but apart from that no problems in 3 yrs. account login allows you to do most things yourself instead of ringing

I'm a loyal TPG customer for more than 5 years now; joined their dial-up connection, ADSL and now their ADSL+2 internet connection. The speed is great, the plan is a very good value; I recommend TPG to all my friends. And don't forget their generous download quota; it's worth the money.

I registered online and have been using it for about a year. Quick and easy to set up. However disconnects for me a lot of the time. I emailed them about it, but they couldn't seem to fix it. Huge amount of downloads for such a small price. You can also choose from a wide variety of plans, so if you don't need to download that much, you can choose a cheaper one. They reply to your emails within 24hours.

Approximate cost: $80

Pretty good value for the amount of downloads you can get every month - better than most others IMO, I'm probably going to be sticking with TPG, I think the only negative thing is that I sometimes can't connect for a certain amount of time - but thank goodness it only happens every once in a while.

I have been with TPG since I can remember. They always provide a great service that is reliable all the time. They offer competitive prices and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good internet product with high download limits.
