TPG not so bad as long as you do not want tech support, do not mind slow speeds on weekends etc, or TRY TO LEAVE them, then prepare yourself for the worst, most frustrating ride you could ever experience - the big dipper has nothing on this, the most unfriendly, unaccommodating, unhelpful mob you could ever wish to come across - take your money, cut you off the net and could not give a damn! Read the fine print - if they are so good as to supply you with it! Require 30 days PREPAID written notice, despite you have signed somewhere else you got a better deal with, condescending staff (and so many of them, never the same one twice) then "3-5 business days" to hand over their codes to your new carrier, leaving you with no internet and - who gives a damn -not us, we are not getting any more money out of you! Beware TPG, biggest load of crooks I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
We were customers of TPG until we moved to Victoria October last year. We had nothing but hassles with them. The service was not reliable, their customer service is pretty much non-existent, and they kept overcharging us every month!
Their deals are good - IF that is all they charge you. In our case we had their unlimited deal for $59.95 a month, but were regularly charged more.
It took an email to the Telecommunications Ombudsman for this to be rectified.
I have been with TPG for many years and it is a very good provider despite sometimes might be a bit slow but overall is very good speed for an unlimited package that I only pay for $59.95/month
Approximate cost: $59.95
It is absolutely right. good value mate
We connected to TPG (Broadband, home phone and 2 mobiles)after having trouble with Virgin and have had an excellent experience with them. Emailed them a couple of times and response from them was within the hour. Had to phone once for technical support and they were great with their help. Friendly, efficient and excellent value for money.
That is really good customer service, somewhat of a rarity these days lol.
Great service, amazing value! Reliable and good customer service- no complaints here! They offer great deals and value for money. Very cheap and simple billing process.
I love TPG and it is for me. Cheap broadband and usually pretty fast.
However: A friend recently tried to connect. They were told that it would take 1 month to connect:( Eventually 1.5 months later they jumped to optus. To be fair to TPG, telstra manages the exchange, Telstra screwed around with the ext. So be careful and be prepared.
Approximate cost: $40
note to self dont try this firm
The cheapest, the most data for my price range and great customer service. Had an issue once, and they fixed the problem and gave me a discount on my monthly bill
great value for budget internet, where you mostly do a bit of email and surfing. my famiy have their mobiles with tpg which is great value for light users, good reception and reasonable customer service.
our family uses TPG as well, also the $18 mobile plan.. so much data available to use..
Great value Internet and mobile. I was with TPG ADSL2 since 2009 and happy with them with no issues so far. It connection slows down dramatically when we reached the free download limit. I also had a mobile with them for last 3 years - $15 per month including $300 worth of calls and SMS - the best value in town.
Approximate cost: $40 per month internet
I chose this company since 2005 and so far i have disappointed with TPG company.. they gave me great offer (fast connection - speed) with reasonable (good) value .. They deliver good customer service over the phone too .. So, i recommend this company to friends and family - of course!
Yeah about that customer service. I get the feeling that their priority is to blame it on the customers first. My brother and I, we're quite knowledgeable with the whole it scene. We have an idea what the problem may be, when we call them up they try to pin everything on us, then we talk to their supervisor and things get solved.
Never really liked that, HOwever ! probably the best value around town.
We have had that problem with Westnet so it's seems to be a pretty common way they handle things unfortunately.
