This review is for Golden Century Seafood Restaurant, Haymarket NSW

If I go back five years Golden Century was probably my favourite Chinese Restaurant in Sydney. However recently is has seemed to go downhill. The food quality has dropped and service is not of a great standard.

The cleanliness of the restaurant isnt great and for the prices you pay you find yourself feeling a little hard done by at the end of your meal.

The food quality is ok but i think the restaurants general lack of service lets the whole meal down.

This review is for Maggios, Cammeray NSW

Maggios is a family owned cafe run by the three Maggio Brothers, Andrew, Carlo and Christian. The boys and their staff are very attentive to their customers and know everyone by first name.
For breakfast I cant go past the Maggio Italian Eggs and for lunch the Roma Panini is amazing.
Coffee and take away options are exceptional for a quick meal.
The best part about this place is the value for money. A must for breakfast or lunch especially for a good italian coffee.

We have been going here for years and it has never dissapointed.

My favourite dish has always been Sizzling Steak however try the san choy bow and peking duck.

Service is excellent and I love the sports memorabilia around the walls.

This business has been a local identity for a long time.

This review is for Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar, North Willoughby NSW

It is a shame that Pizza Hut and Dominos have sacrificed quaility in lieu of price in the pizza realm.

However Crust have entered the market and offer extremely good quality pizza at reasonable prices.

Try the pulled pork pizza or the proscuitto for a great meal.

Hoefully more of the little gems pop up around sydney.

This review is for Hoyts Cinemas, Ultimo NSW

Broadway has had a makeover and the Cinemas are looking awesome. Extreme screen is also installed so you can get the best of the best video and audio in their cinemas.

The parking was definitely a nightmare, it took me an hour to get out due to a backup of cars. Third hour of parking is included when you validate your ticket at the cinemas (although the validation machine is very very very hard to find)

Food court is near cinema for a quick eat before or after the movie.

As with all large chains the food and drink is very expensive, I recommend going to coles beforehand and picking up what you want.

Overall a neat modern cinema making for a good movie experience.

This review is for Dendy Cinemas, Newtown NSW

I love going to the movies and I was forced to travel here as the movie I was seeing only came to this one Cinema in Sydney.

The cinema itself is quite funky and modern however the screens are extremely small and dont make for good viewing.

The drinks and food arent amazing and are overpriced plus the parking is very limited (car park holds 20 cars and street parking here is a nightmare).

I had to queue for almost 20 minutes to get my ticket (even after I purchased online).

Overall I would recommend going to a bigger chain cinema, I generally support local but not in this case.

This review is for Hoyts Cinemas, Chatswood NSW

I am an avid movie goer and there are a few things I generally take into account when going to a cinema.
1. Cleanliness - Hoyts Chatswood Westfield is always kept clean, it is well maintained and the bathrooms are always spotless.
2. Audio and Video Quality - Hoyts and Event Cinemas are front runners in the technology used for this and it shows, especially as Hoyts Chatswood has a Extreme Screen.
3. Ticket Price - I am smart and always buy my tickets through my Heath Insurance so I find both Hoyts and Event Cinemas both become really well priced ($11.50 per ticket) when purchased this way.

Parking is easy as it is in the centre and the third hour is free when you validate your parking ticket at the cinema.

Candy Bar is also quite good however quite expensive.

I have used their La Premiere a number of times and have found the food and drink to always be excellent and the bottomless popcorn is great too.

Staff are generally quite young so you do get a little inexperience coming through.

This review is for Mandarin Kitchen, Lindfield NSW

Everybody has their staple Chinese Takeaway restaurant regardless of where you live, for us it is Mandarin Kitchen.
The staff know us by name now and always look after us. Being family run and take away only the business focuses more on the quality of their food for the local area.

Try the San Choy Bow, BBQ Pork Omelette and Beef with Black Bean (these are our favourites).

Prices have gone up slightly but so has cost of living so this is to be expected especially in small businesses.

This review is for Hotel Mosman, Mosman NSW

verified email - 19 Nov 2014

Hotel Mosman (a.k.a The Duck) has grown into a staple for those in Mosman and surrounding suburbs. The steak special for just $7 is a must and somehow it is always prepared perfectly.
Drinks are a little expensive but for a place to survive they need to make their profit somewhere.
Try the steak with Mushroom Sauce for a truly enjoyable dinner.

This review is for Din Tai Fung, Sydney NSW

A great meal everytime pretty much sums up din tai fung. The quality of the dumplings and dishes is always perfect, whilst it is generally more expensive than its competitors it is well worth paying a bit more for. Definitely try the beans and pork dish yum yum.
