I lived here and spent half my life in this shop. It is both a deli and butcher. This family run business is always alive hence freshness is nearly always real. It is right next to a small nursery and many wholesalers/restaurants get their produce from these guys. Very busy on saturday mornings so watch the parking bay. Prices are more than reasonable and one feels he fields some of his produce locally and not from sydney markets. Great place for the locals but i would travel and visit there when I pass by anyday.

Daughter and I went looking for sheet music and at an digital keyboard. The knowledge of these guys is tremendous and we are not dummies in this arena. The time and effort put into listening and servicing our needs was something else, even though we were not from these parts. Prices are negotiable and one feels like this services the community very well from this store. I highly recommend them and what they don't have, will be gotten if at all possible.

Was my favourite little place for that light pastry fully fresh meat pie with a little spice added. Now moved into catering and the selection is small in the little shop/cafe but still fresh. This family business is now an icon and not just the dirge cardboard stuff from the bakeries around town. Welcome this french taste in the country

Approximate cost: $4.50 a pie upwards

Have to say the best chips in Sydney, big fat and crispy fresh potatioes. No frozen non tasting stuff. This is a bit up tempo. Book on line only although I am sure they have a telephone. We had a table of 10 and felt a bit squashed but the food did not disappoint. Not cheap but neither is the menu and its quality. Fish and chips fried was the main attraction and think it was bream of a cod. Duck is their signature and the one person who loves the old duck says it was cooked to perfection with a sauce of orange and herbs to die for. Overall the mains cost $25 each, some more some less. Lovely spot in good weather. Not a typical cafe place. For the fussy one and those who know gourmet food

Approximate cost: $30 pp

This review is for Evia Yoghurt Factory, Marrickville NSW

Not sure what heading to put these guys under as this is a health food as well as a gourmet food. Evia yoghurt products has NO PRESERVATIVES NO CREAM ADDED NO THICKENERS etc. To buy from the factory you have to buy 5kg packs found in plastic bags and then I pour these into containers and freeze. If you work it out according to market prices, say from Harris Farm, you save about 60% by buying bulk. The have the skinny yoghurt for the slimmers but this is a quality product sold and renoun over the years for its purity. Frozen yoghurt sold also but I buy 2 x 5kg packs and save much more and this keeps fresh in my freezer for 4mths or more. You go to the front to pay and pick up your box at rear and you see the factory and its clean habitation. Strongly recommend this greek style yoghurt that you can use for everything including sweets to pizza's.

Approximate cost: $approx $80 for 10 kgs

This is more a seafood market. No cooking of seafood goes on here. When the seafood is in season it is great. I do not like frozen seafood so have little time for such. This business has been round a long time so it gets the tick for keeping the market place fed. I would feel that some upgrading of their presentation might help but if you do not want to go to the city fish markets then your favourite fish would be found here. Pleny of variety and will clean and fillet fish for you on the spot.

Ok so I am not a recipient of this service. I would not like to call it a business but it is. My mum is presently a member of the family based here at this centre. My dad recently passed away here. No body likes seeing their loved ones pass into a stage where only many others can help them. We looked hard to find mum and dad a place close to home that was clean and had an environment that was functioning as best as it could under the circumstances. The place is kept incredibly clean by a rich team of people. My mum is in a room for two but there are sections that have private rooms only. I find the food to be thoughtful. the staff generally to be thoughtful and caring and the stimulus for activity to be well cared for by a woman named Kathy who really puts her heart into her work. I have one regreat with so many nursing homes in that there is very little garden space or walkways for residents to go outside when permissable. The demand is strong for places and so I guess this means that land is too valuable for open spaces. Overall I am thankful for mums care here amongst a multi racial environment both staff and clients.

OK so this is not your typical catering in the backyard sought of business. This is class. I visit the cafe where Rob and his team cook their " STUFF". (very poor choice of words for such delicacies). You can get a feel of the class when you visit the shop for a coffee and some of his savoury of sweet pastries. You can sit down for a meal in a small room with some wings that are great on good weather days. As I said this guy is top trained and not out to pasture but enjoying a fine reputation as a corporate or wedding special caterer with top class staff and menu. Not cheap but not beyond it for a special event or to help with your catering for your home celebration. Either the shop or the one off catering will find you most impressed with this business from the little village of Helensburgh. Take some unique and quality little treats to your friends as I do when I get down that way

This place has served the area for years. I drop in when going south. Nothing fancy just good fresh food and they hear what you say and give you what you want. Generous, clean, efficient, fair price for a hot or cold sandwich, roll, soup in season hamburger and the normal array of drinks for the lunch box. You only last in this business if you are worth it so give them a try. I like the simple meal they provide. Not open beyond lunch times

Just visited this place and had a take away King Prawn Omellete with large special fried rice. Containers were very large. the cuisine more singaporian than chinese, the sit in decor outdated and needing refreshing, service was slow only because they cooked it then and there which is appreciated so that you do not have to put up with last nights left overs reheated. Generally a step up from most chinese and prices was all up $27 for an amount that would feed 2-3 adults. Not salty or greasy

Approximate cost: $27 for a meal for two take away
