This business has been around a long time. Seem to supply other brands. This is the factory shop and a small array of goods is available. They are hand made but flavours seem to need a bit of up dating in my opinion. Small variety and prices that are only so so. Seconds available but if you want a special bit and are in this area then they can make it look good
Approximate cost: $2 upwards
Ok so battered fish can come cheap but this shop has a selection of fresh fish for you to choose and have cooked as you wish. Salads are fresh as each day. No question about this. Hamburgers YES!!! I can ask about the oil and get a straight answer and can sit down inside or outside as the sun goes down. Feel they offer that take away that is above the rest and you can come with confidence that it is edible and worth paying for. Good family business. Reputation upheld for years now so give them a go if that is what you are up for. Fresh prawn rolls daily and all fish is marked as to where it comes from which is important to me
Approximate cost: $10 deep sea perch and chips approx
Like this place for bits and pieces. Cost is more than reasonable and variety is assured. Parking can be a problem in peak hours but order and service when not busy is good. Get my craft pieces and off cuts for kids clothing here
I am not Arabic but have learned to enjoy their flatbreads with herbs heated gently for anytime of the day or for a breakfast change with friends. This place runs to demand and is closed early in the afternoon when things are sold. Many frequent this place for their mince with oregano flatbread as I do and feel it is worth the effort to get there. Many such places are arriving on the scene and this one has a long reputation for fresh clean and enjoyable.
Approximate cost: $4 upwards
This place deserves your attention for some serious intriguing different toys. There is a lot of on line stuff around but when you come here you get the benefit of explaining your child or grandchild to people who have lived this world for a long time. They point you to things you could not think of yourself. The only criticism I have is that the shop is too small for what they could go for but what they have is inviting and invigorating for the child that needs and wants something different. They do not sell junk. They have sourced items from all over the world that will and can be passed onto the next child or generation should- you keep things for so long. If you cannot find it or don't know, just ask and share and you will not be disappointed.
I have frequented this store and their one in Wollongong for years. If you want upmarket European design then this is the place. Not cheap but classy. Something different than your "STUFF" store for men. Service is second to none always, because this business is built on pride of product and individual care of a mans looks. When I want class from a country town then this is it and they will oblige as much as possible to get you what they do not have in stock.
Popped in for a lunch which had a special price of $25 for two courses. I had the catch of the day grilled and daughter had the Seafood and steak mix. Did not like the heavy greek style bread but service and seafood was well cooked and presented. I like the upstairs section which is opened when busy and summer comes otherwise down stairs is OK. It is always faithful to its name which has won acclamation over many years. Some updates to the menu would be good but worth the special prices.
I am a bit of a fishy person. My stomach is lined with fish, my nostrils are scented for fishy cuisine. When asked what was for mothers day, well that was a waste of breath. I try the best of seasonal fish and alternate with the market places that make seasonal beauties available but the fare of Peters for mothers day was something else. A tray with half a lobster, 4 mouthwatersing salty QLD king tiger prawns and 4 sweet oysters was just mouth wateringly fresh and with that wedge of lemon, enough to make me want to induge over and over again. I often find lobster when cold is rubbery due to refrigeration. Not this place. As I said, I only buy in season and I think the fish market brings in the best when special occassion days come round so hope this is normal for Peters. Superb
Approximate cost: $40 to $50 a tray
OK. The pure wool MONGREL SOCKS are part of our life. Weaved on a very old weaver, unique such that the life of them is far superior to everything I know. The colours mean that men and women can wear them and you can swear by them when you are in the coldest places. They wash a treat if not put in boiling water, they are thick and too thick for some modern shoes but you do not need slippers with these. I find them great for disabled folk. THis is an aussie business who go online but also have stockists listed on their web site. At $25 free postage included, these are worth 10 pairs of normal socks. Possum socks bamboo socks neck warmers and some other gear but my pick is the mongrels. Quality to match a good aussie business
Approximate cost: $25 a pair
Although a firm believer in a godly wedding, I am pleased to recommend Lesley. She married my third daughter in Stanwell Tops, to her wishes and then just recently my nephew in Carss Park. She travels gets there on time and makes things comfortable on these day of days. Ask her about her chooks when all is done. BUT really, this lady has poise to match her love of her job
