I've never eaten at this bar! But I've had catch up drinks quite a few times and the place is gorgeous and the drinks are fantastic! There is such a relaxed, friendly vibe, I've had strangers come up to talk to us, a real holiday atmosphere!

I know some people expect a little more in their pizza, but for me this place was great. The staff are a little more chilled out than you'd like, but the atmosphere in the rooftop dining area is great and there are lots of quiet nooks and crannies for a gossip or a catch up with friends you haven't seen in awhile.

They have a good selection of cider and beer on tap and yes, the flavoured vodkas are fantastic! Not cheap and nasty but very authentic and flavoursome.

Approximate cost: $4 pizza, $8 vodka

Ok: here's the disclaimer. There is a little bit of russian roulette being played every time you visit this Academy. I've had two of the best cuts of my life here and also one terrible cut.

So don't go if you don't want to take that risk!

But the teachers have 20+ experience and the students are often really, really trying to do a great job - they're not complacent yet.

One of my cuts had these incredible under-layers, which was amazing because I have way too think hair. i still have the photo of the day I got my hair done, it's one of my faves.

I would recommend this salon to anyone willing to take a small risk to get a great experience and save lots of money!

Approximate cost: $25

I was having a terrible day when I stepped into Biba Gertrude street, and it got worse after my cut.

I'd had a reaally, really bad cut a few months before and my hair was many different lengths, lopsided and frayed.

My previous experiences with Biba salons had been amazing; even the academies have the most awesome students who give you a better cut than some Directors here in Adelaide!

But the woman who cut my hair seemed to take one look at it and put it in the too-hard basket. She gave it a rudimentary trim, didn't even try to address the lopsidedness (it was still uneven until I got it re-cut only 4 weeks later, after being too exasperated to wait the usual 6) blowdried it badly and then sent me on my way.

Oh yeah, and she actually tried to sell me a fitting for my blow drier that I told her wouldn't fit in my suitcase (I was on a work trip, coming back to Adelaide).

I can't believe it cost me around $85.00.

I would give this salon a miss, but visit one of the other Bibas -they are still amazing and have really great teams!

Approximate cost: $85

This one's a mixed bag!
The dining was cheaper than other fine dining greek restaurants, and the service was KIND of good, although there were two kinds of dolmades on the menu, the regular vine leaf kind and the eggplant and cheese kind, and when we ordered them, rather than ask us which ones we wanted, the waiter chose the wrong ones for us and then got defensive and scolded us when we complained. Luckily they were still delicious!

A whole bunch of mezze did the whole table, the sausage, salads and cheeses were mind blowing. The Squid was sub-par and the serves could have been bigger, but for the price if they had told us what to expect we could have ordered more.

The only bad point was when we wanted to order more drinks and the wait staff were a bit busy having their own drinks! But there is something so traditional about that, that it added to the authenticity of the experience.

A little more help navigating the menu would have made this an unforgettable eperience!

I will definitely go again and make my mind up.

The food at Eros Ouzeri is amazing. It is my FAVOURITE Greek Restaurant, and as a connoisseur that is a huge compliment. The problem? The service is terrible, more Macdonalds than 5 star. But I keep coming back for the amazing treats.

Their mezze is amazing and you can order a bunch to share, or try the lamb.

An icon that is unfortunately ageing badly.

Both the Ouzeri and the Cafe, owned by different companies, could do with a re-train of their staff. But their food is amazing!

The cafe's dolmades are huge, mouthwatering and just amazing. The set banquet for groups of 10 or more has the most amazing selection of entrées, although make sure to ask for extra vegetarian options if you have vego guests. Their haloumi is to die for, the croquettes are crisp and tasty and the chicken is charcoaled perfection.

Don't bypass this amazing food just because of their average service - it is truly a worthwhile dining experience!!

This review is for Adelaide Central Market, Adelaide SA

The Adelaide Central Markets are the best markets in Australia. I've been to Markets in Darwin, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, and although there are some gorgeous night markets and the Melbourne markets have some great produce, nothing beats the sensational atmosphere and value of the ACM!

There are so many great cafes and eateries, with two food halls coming off the china town mall attached, and there are two asian grocers as well.

Lucia's fine food is very expensive but has traditional home made pasta sauces and speciality products that you won't find anywhere else.

Barossa Fine Foods is utterly incredible too. If you don't buy your meat there, you're missing out! They are the same price as Coles and Woolworths (sometimes a bit more expensive than some of the other Butchers in the market) but the quality is more than double! I've never had a dinner party where I didn't serve some barossa fine foods meat. Organic chops, juicy t-bone, home made sausages and great economy cuts too.

You can walk around for an hour and come back with a bag full of veggies for one quarter of the price it would cost at Supermarket, or peruse the gifts, get a fantastic coffee, buy some gourmet cookies or cake, (or chocolates that make a great present) buy shoes, incense or booze, or just listen to the great musicians playing at two different locations in the Market on a Saturday.

The surrounding area has some great stores too, and I rarely leave on a Saturday without eating some Nana's bakery buns or Breadtop.

This review is for La Trattoria, Adelaide SA

La Tratt can be a bit pricey but their steak is gorgeous and their pizzas are delicious and authentic. They have regular and gourmet pizzas; the gourmet section is an easy to navigate selection of toppings that make sense, none of this over-complicated, frustrating gourmet style that has developed recently. (I don't want goat's meat on a pizza, or mexican beans either, thank you very much!) And their regular pizzas are amazing. A little oily, in a good way and super fresh.

I would recommend La Trattoria for a date. The food is so easy to eat and the atmosphere is great, no-fuss, with good service.

It's also in a good location, close enough to Adelaide proper that you can go for a drink somewhere nice afterwards!

This Library is so well stocked! And the gorgeous red-headed Librarian was friendly and helpful, a real gem.

My favourite books to read are of the Literature Genre, which is pretty popular, but I found some great stuff at this library.
it also has a huge selection of magazines and newspaper - puts the city library to shame - and an adorable kids' section complete with sparkly toadstool seats. Makes me want to be a child again!

People don't seem to visit libraries enough these days, so I have to say: maybe it's time to rediscover this amazing gem of a library? It's even cheaper than buying them online ;-)

Approximate cost: $free! unless you're always late to return the books!
