This review is for Dennys kitchen, Geelong VIC

I had a superb pizza here, and everyone else I went with also enjoyed their mains. Dennys was top notch across the board- with their pizzas, pastas, and standard meat main courses. The wait staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable. Dessert was a tad disappointing, especially after the donuts were recommended- they were a bit stodgy and tasteless. Despite this I would definitely go back- perfect spot in the city for a bite.

A lovely tucked away little cafe in Oakleigh, this is a gem. It's nice to find a small but still high quality establishment as many in Oakleigh are quite big. An interesting but somewhat expected range of menu options, you don't have to trek into the 'hipster' suburbs to find this sort of food. Our meals were tasty and the staff were really friendly. Coffee was good too which is always a nice addition. Will be heading back.

This review is for Oasis Bakery - Middle Eastern, Murrumbeena VIC

Oasis has a great range of Middle Eastern produce and an impressive assortment of snacks so I was looking forward to a good breakfast here. Unfortunately the staff were fairly inattentive and a bit rude, as though the fact it is diner style and you order at the counter meant they didn't have to do anything. Our food was average, but enjoyable. I'd go back to try out their Lebanese lunches, as I still have high expectations from other reviewers.

This is such a fun place to go for dinner. It is quite loud, so don't expect to hear too much if you go with a big group. I've been here a few times with one other friend and we always have a great evening. These guys have a delicious range of Polish food, with a mix of salady stuff or rich meat dishes, all of which we have shared between us. They also have an amazing cocktail menu and are great at offering advice if you're not sure what you feel like. Really easy to get to and always bustling, perfect place to go if you're on Chapel St.

This review is for The Grain Store, Melbourne VIC

Went here for lunch on a weekend- after making a booking. It was quite busy so if you're set on coming here I'd book online first. Unfortunately we were hoping to order off their lunch menu, but this is not available on weekends, only their brunch menu. This was okay, however not clear.
Despite this, the food wasn't too bad. Their eggs based dishes looked great, and the salmon bagel was delicious. Their salmon in bouillabaisse was tasty, though it was quite strong so steer clear if you're not into something that strongly tastes of the sea. Particularly disappointing were their potato rostis- they just weren't.. It was like a dry lumpy mash cake, rather than a grated soft, buttery, traditional rosti. Their desserts as well as drinks and coffee were great though and the overall atmosphere was as good as many Melbourne weekend brunch spots.

This review is for Spring Physio Gym, Malvern VIC

verified email - 26 May 2015

I love this place! The staff are all really professional but still extremely friendly and approachable. Spring offers physio treatments but also has pilates and supervised exercise- perfect if you're recovering from an injury and not quite ready to jump back into your old gym routine. I've seen a few of the physios here over the past couple of years and all have been fantastic. A couple of friends of mine have also been, and we all have different preferences in the physios we go to most often, but agree this is more a personality thing than expertise, they all seem to really know their stuff. Had me back on my feet and running again.

This review is for GoGet, Springvale VIC

verified email - 26 May 2015

We ordered a GoGet van from the Springvale Homemaker Centre to cart home purchases from the Harvey Norman there. Signing up to use GoGet was relatively quick, they were helpful, and despite there not being a van available immediately, we were able to book one for the same day. Unfortunately my card had not been activated properly so I ended up waiting until the following morning to get a different van, so it was lucky I lived nearby. If you plan ahead and organise a membership (really affordable way of hiring a van, or free sign up if you're an Ikea Family member), I expect it would be a painless process! Once we got the van it was easy to drive and clean and tidy, and it's a great way to quickly get around. Will definitely be using in future and looking forward to them growing so we can hire cars easily in other cities.

This review is for Adriano Zumbo Patissier, South Yarra VIC

verified email - 26 May 2015

I was slightly disappointed with Zumbo's South Yarra store, especially after the hype that has surrounded it. It took me a while to get here (there are so many good patisseries in the area), and when I did I was expecting spectacular things, different from everyone else. Whilst his designs and shop are funky and have a great atmosphere, the desserts themselves were nothing amazing. The macaroons were interesting flavours, but weren't as crispy on the outisde/ soft on the inside as you'd hope for, and desserts you expect to see (such as his Zonuts which feature in his book) were not there at all. I may have just caught them at a bad time (end of what was undoubtedly a busy weekend), but it was still a let down. I would still go back- I won't hold this against them!

This review is for Fonda Mexican, Hawthorn VIC

verified email - 26 May 2015

Such a good addition to the already food filled Hawthorn end of Glenferrie road. Such a fun vibe in Fonda, this is the perfect place to grab some amazing Mexican food. I love to get some of their corn chips (crispy and golden) with salsa and guacamole before heading over to my evening classes for uni. Fresh food which is made on the spot, this is not your average fast food. The staff are always really friendly and willing to help, and they're right, always pick the pulled pork!

Not cheap, but make the most amazing salads! If you don't just feel like salad they also have roasted chickens which smell amazing when you walk in, and they also have a few curries. Their salads though- a great variety of greens based, or legumes based, or even roasted vegetables. They have lots of different ingredients and pack them full of flavour. Not only do they deliver on the content of the salad, they have the most delicious dressings to go with them! When I have some spare cash and am feeling healthy, will always drop past here.
