The Baby Gallery has one of the best layouts that I have seen in a baby shop. Their range is good and prices are the best I have been able to find. The service really needs improvement though and don't even think of shopping on a weekend unless you want to wait 15 minutes to be served. I have found on a number of occasions and with different staff members that they will recommend products that they like and use, rather than things that suit your needs, so take their advice with a grain of salt. The owners are great, but their staff need to professionalise a little (I could do without the swearing and being told I'm wrong). I also had to wait 8 weeks for a cot that they said would take a maximum of 4 weeks to deliver and baby almost ended up sleeping in her pram. That said, I would shop there again because you can't beat the prices.

Baby Bunting is a great warehouse style baby store - it seriously has everything you could possibly think of needing! I haven't found their customer service to be as outstanding as some other places (eg a staff member just told me I could get a discount if I joined their club when I asked what I should be looking for in cot). The prices also need room for improvement - I have found exactly the same things at significantly lower prices elsewhere (even when you take into account the 5% discount they give members). You really need to shop around before buying from there.

A modern and easily accessible clinic in Bentleigh East with really good doctors. I had one bad experience with one doctor but she has since left and I would highly rate all the others. I like the way the clinic promotes health management (ie managing your whole health) rather than just fixing each medical problem as it comes up. They are quickly gaining a really good reputation and can book out quickly which means you don't always get the doctor of your choice - but they're all good so it doesn't matter!

Dr Kashyap is a very laid back, calm doctor who is great at putting nervous mothers to be at ease! He is happy to discuss any concern or problem and as far as I have seen so far, prefers a minimal intervention approach. Even when I had some potential problems with my pregnancy he treated it like something normal and routine and certainly put me at ease. $$ are good, compared to others, but he is very popular and appointments can fill up quickly and he does run late on most occasions.

I go to La Via a lot for casual dining. I'm always able to get a table and their quality is consistent - you always know what you're getting. I've never had a bad meal there.

I have been going to The Beauty Pavillion for about 2 years now. I have tried a few other places closer to home, but always end up making the trip back to the Pavillion.

I bought a couple of maternity clothes early in my pregnancy through the online shop. It was very easy to use, postage was great and my things turned up within 48 hours! I even decided a few hours later that I wanted more things so gave the store a call and they easily added them to my order (no more postage costs!) Very pleasant staff and a fantastic range of really nice products.

In terms of range I found baby bunting in Bentleigh East to be one of the best stores that I have visited. The prices are comparable to other stores but it is the range that make them the place that I will be going back to for all my nursery and baby needs.

TIP: if you are a hard negotiator you can get a great price!

I bought 5 items from Motherhood today after a friend told me that it was a good place to pick up cheap maternity clothes. I actually went there to get some comfy stuff for around the house and totally wasn't expecting brand name clothes at such a discount! I picked up all of my 5 items including 2 maternity/breastfeeding t-shirts, a denim skirt, a pair of cords and a little black dress for $112. All brand names. Wow!

On a side note, on a weekday morning the place was absolutely empty and I had it all to myself although I've heard it can get a bit manic on the weekend - a tip for the shoppers out there!
