This review is for Black Velvet Sydney, Darlinghurst NSW

I reckon Black Velvet has the best cupcakes in the CBD. It is so hard to find a good moist cupcake in the city, I went to Black Velvet to try their cupcakes and I was so happy. The red velvet cupcake was my favourite, the cupcake was so moist and the icing was pillow soft. They also make some really creatively designed cupcakes too. Lovely service too,

This review is for Penny University of coffee rosters, Canberra ACT

Penny University Coffee Roasters is hands down one of my favourite cafes in Canberra, the café sells awesome coffee that they have roasted and is available for purchase. They also sell cronuts and other baked goods which was not on sale when I went, but I heard they are good. My favourite thing on the menu is their French toast because it is not your usual conventional boring version, they add things such as ricotta and chocolate, so indulgent. I really love it how the outdoor seating has heaters, blankets and cushions, which is essential when it is so cold in Canberra. The service is friendly and welcoming.

This review is for Gumption By Coffee Alchemy, Sydney NSW

Gumption is undoubtedly one of the best places to drink coffee in the Sydney CBD. Blink and you could miss this small coffee shop in the Strand Arcade, but you probably wouldn't miss the large crowds on people devouring on coffee in the seating area in the arcade or waiting inside the cafe. They also sell coffee beans too which is great, but I prefer getting my coffee made for me. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

This review is for The Spot 2 B Hairdressing , Randwick NSW

verified email - 02 Oct 2016

The Spot 2 B hairdressing was the best place to get my son's haircut. My son got a really bad haircut somewhere else and it really needed to be fixed, thankfully this hairdresser fixed the problem. Children get to sit in a car, a fire engine truck, plane etc whilst they get their haircut, there is also a tv showing abc tv. The hairdressers are really good with children, my son loved the hairdresser. The haircut looked perfect afterwards, I let her go free reign and I loved what she did. The only downside is the price, but I think it's worth it.

This review is for DCH, Blaxland NSW

DCH aka Dan's Coffee Haus is a fairly new cafe in Blaxland. The cafe has a small menu, but it is decent. The coffee we ordered was pretty good, although the Nutella Freakshake wasn't too sweet, it was too much for me. Babycinos are free. The service is really friendly and lovely. I haven't eaten food there yet, but I heard its good. Overall surprisingly good cafe for the area.

This review is for Eat Fuh, Marrickville NSW

Eat Fuh is hands down the best pho that I have ever eaten in Marrickville. I went to this place after a friend recommended it. Eat Fuh is a newer vietnamese restaurant in the area, the restaurant is small, so it is advised to book ahead or get there early. You chose from a variety of phos, including vegetable, chicken or rare beef, I always get the chicken one. The pho also comes in two sizes, I always opt for the large size so I can share with my toddler. The pho is so delicious because the broth is so flavoursome and not overly salty-msg like some that I have tasted. I really like how they have fresh chilli available with other condiments in trolleys which you can use. They also have other things on the menu such as vietnamese salads and of course spring rolls. The service is lovely, but they get so busy sometimes and it is hard to get their attention. Lots of points for a visible open clean kitchen.

This review is for Hochi Mama, Melbourne VIC

I went to Hochi Mama as part of my Melbourne eating feasting. I had been stalking them on instagram and was so excited to visit and try their food. I tried their signature pho'plings which were dumplings in soup, I found them to be alright. The fried chicken was a huge serving, delicious but I could not eat it all. Surprisingly the winner of the dinner was the stir fried morning glory. The meals are generally designed to be shared. Service was friendly. Very funky atmosphere.

This review is for The Tea Cosy, The Rocks NSW

The Tea Cosy is the best place for the most delicious scone in Sydney. I took my friends from overseas here and they loved it. The Tea Cosy is a cute cafe that serves a variety of tea, scones and more. You can choose from a variety of scones and then chose from the range of jams to go with your scones. The scones are baked quite regularly, this way you know they are fresh. The scones are so soft when warm, I really loved them. The atmosphere is really quirky with knitting yarn and needles in baskets for people who would like to knit, the chairs also contain hand knitted blankets to keep you warm. The Tea Cosy's service is warm and hospitable.

This review is for The Tea Room QVB, Sydney NSW

I had huge expectations when I was having high tea with my friends. My friends and I decided to order the afternoon tea, everything arrived in a timely manner, but they forgot to bring our cream and jam for the scones. The cakes and macaron were nice. The sandwiches were pretty average. The tea was not bad. The service was attentive and polite. I hated where I sat because the sun was constantly in my face. Overall I thought this High Tea was average, not as good as other places that I have eaten at. Perhaps they just had an off day, because I heard they are usually really good.

This review is for Banana Joe's, Marrickville NSW

I recently discovered Banana Joes when I was in marrickville. Banana Joes sells really good quality fruit at reasonable prices. I haven't really checked out the grocery section, but it looks good. Banana Joes also has a self serve orange juice machine, this juice is seriously the best juice that I have ever drunk.
