Holy Basil is a delicious Thai restaurant hidden inside the Shark Hotel, i recently went here for lunch and i was pleasantly surprised how good it was. A large group of my friends and I went, this way we could try different things. The winning dishes were the fried crispy snapper mango salad, the roast pork belly in chilli basil and garlic sauce and the fried ice cream. The service was really lovely and polite. The ambience of the restaurant really takes away the fact that is located in the Shark Hotel.
Mak Mak make the best macarons in Sydney, the macarons are so delicious. My favourite macaron is their belgian milk chocolate. They also make delicious chocolate chip cookies too. Just recently I went there for a cooking class and it was lots of fun and I got to learn how to make macarons.
Doux Amour sells the cutest choux pastry puffs that you will ever see. I have been to Doux Amour a few times and I just love their cute choux pastry puffs, they have ones that are decorated like a bear, tiger, penguin and others and they all have different flavours. The coffee is good too,.
I love freshly baked bread, so when I stumbled upon Shepherd's bread, I was curious. I bought a huge sourdough bread stick and a apple and walnut croissant. The bread stick was so deliciously crunchy on the outside and so perfectly matched with the garlic butter that I lathered on it. My husband ate the apple and walnut croissant and he said it was the best croissant that he has ever eaten. Definitely recommend a visit if you love good quality bread like I do.
I love Hurricane's Grill for the pork ribs, this is literally the only thing that order when I visit. The pork ribs are generous in portion and so delicious that the meat falls off the bone when you slice it off, the pork meat is also so tender. This branch of Hurricanes is my favourite because of the beautiful view of Darling Harbour. The service is really attentive.
Burger Head is a restaurant for burgers, it just opened today, it was so busy for a first day. I was really impressed with their food, we order two burgers, mash and gravy, roasted white choc milkshake and crispy bites. The burgers were really good, in particular The Louis burger had a really juicy patty. The mash and gravy was to die for. The crispy bites were good and the milkshake was yum. The service was so good, the manager came around at various intervals to ask if all was okay. Definitely a great addition to the Penrith area.
I was a huge fan of Reynold on Masterchef, so a visit to his dessert bar was a must. I went there on a weekday afternoon and it was not too busy. I ordered the strawberry pillow and a hot chocolate and my friend got a mango passionfruit cake. I thought my strawberry pillow dessert was so delicate and creamy, I really liked it, it was not too sweet for me. The hot chocolate was divine. I really love it how the dessert bar was a lovely atmosphere with flowers. Friendly service.
Chicken and sons is the best place to eat the most delicious chicken burger. I ate the Big Bird burger it was so amazing, you can tell that they use good quality chicken. The beer battered chips were so crunchy and delicious. I they sell meat based burgers too, but I am yet to try it. The service is so lovely and enthusiastic.
I love this small Japanese cafe, it sells so many matcha items, which is heaven for me. I like the matcha latte, it is creamy and rich in matcha flavour. I also ate the tonkatsu dog which is basically deep fried, so naughty but so delicious. Their shaked chips with a variety of seasonings is yummy too. Basically if you want a great matcha fix, come here for matcha heaven.
I went to The Rabbit Hole for only tea and I was impressed, the tea leaves they used were really good quality. I ordered a pot of jasmine tea, I loved their tea pots and the tea tasted so good and not too bitter. My friend ordered the chai tea and thought it was very creamy and delicious. The service was friendly and helpful, because I was unsure what to order.
