I always enjoy going to Kofi Bean. The service is good, the waiters are friendly and the food is tasty. Recently I went with a couple of friends and we all had a mini pizza each. These are just right for lunch - lots of topping and there is a vegetarian option too. Coffee and tea as well - and the coffee always comes with a jug of hot water to tone it down if it is too strong - and also makes it stretch just a little bit further! A great place go for a snack, meal or just coffee and a chat.

I've been here a few times because it is a convenient place to meet friends for coffee or a snack. The coffee is pretty good tho I always order a hot water on the side because their long blacks can be rather strong. Last time my friend and i had a meal which although over priced for what it was was very tasty and ingredients were fresh. i had calamari - it was pretty good and my friend had salmon which she said was very good! Service was ok too. Will be back as we made another coffee time for next month so will try something else.

Fantastic place to eat! The food was tasty, fresh and delicious. 4 of us went out for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed with the meal, the service and the prices. There was quite an extensive menu - with starters and entrees but we decided on a main and dessert. 2 had steak with a potato and garlic rosti, wild mushrooms and greens. The steak was perfect (both medium) the red wine jus was so good I made sure I cleaned my plate! The veges were fresh and crisp. Another had the fish - also great and the other person had the lamb. On the menu it came with couscous but being gluten free she couldn't have that. However she was able to choose from any of the other vege combinations on the menu which was really helpful. She was also very happy with her choices. The dessert menu was really tempting - lots to choose from. We ended up with a sorbet trio - nice, especially the berry one; Bailey's Creme Brulee - great taste, not too sweet and lots of it!; White Chocolate Pannacotta with strawberries and Persian fairy floss - also tasty and just enough - and the cheese platter - which had a good variety of cheese, fruit and breads. We shared a Red - 2010 Tarrawarra Pinot Noir - very nice, thank you and finished with coffee and tea. All in all a good night with friendly and efficient service. Will certainly return for another special occasion.

A friend asked me to help her buy a laptop so i called in to the Good Guys (and a couple of other places) to check out what was available. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the sales people in the computer area actually knew about the computers they were selling. I'd been to some department stores where the sales people just sell - but they don't have product information. I was able to get some helpful hints about what to look for and the current pricing.
The next week I took my friend to buy the laptop and we saw another sales person - and again he had the product knowledge, could answer all our questions about virus checking software, business applications etc - and also knocked several dollars off the price! Bonus!
Would certainly recommend the computer section of this store.

This was a pleasant place for a Friday night gathering. We (5 of us) were seated away from the main crowd so it was nice and quiet and easy to chat. The food was pretty good. Four of us had steak (200gms) and 3 out of the 4 were great - tender and cooked just right. The 4th steak was tough unfortunately. One had fish and chips - there were 3 reasonable sized pieces of fish and a good amount of chips. Drinks were a reasonable price - and there was Guinness on tap which was a bonus!
The service was good and it is a place worth a visit for reasonably priced down to earth pub food. The Senior's menu looked pretty good too!

This is the 3rd time I have been here and it has definitely dived with regards to quality and quantity of food. My friend and I went for our usual $10 lunch special which in the past has been more than adequate and very tasty. My friend had the fish and chips and also added veges to her meal - an extra $2.50 - which hadn't happened before. I had the BLT and added an egg - $2!
Fish & Chips & veg: half the plate was covered in chips and there were a few beans, some bok choy, carrots, a piece of corn and some broccoli on the vege side. These were ok. The fish was resting on the chips and was very small. Without the batter it would have been about 50 - 100 grams - if that.
BLT & egg: this also came with half a plate of chips which were very crisp. The bacon etc were sitting on a half circle of a thick piece of toasted white bun which was very soggy and not very nice. Another half circle was on the top - also soggy and had no taste. The bacon and egg were well cooked and tasted good. Salad was included and that was ok except it was drowned in mayonnaise - I prefer to pour my own! It was ok - but I could have bought a bacon and egg sandwich for half the price elsewhere.
The $10 lunch menu had diminished somewhat and was mainly pasta.
My friend was also disappointed with her meal as she was looking forward to a nice lunch out for a change.
We won't be back and will try somewhere else next time I visit her in frankston.

5 of us went to Black Lime for a friend's birthday. This was our first visit and we went because we had an Entertainment book voucher - buy one main meal, get one free. We ordered 5 mains - First: the signature dish of Lamb backstrap with Pistachio crust on a bed of mash. Disappointing was the verdict of the birthday girl - the crust wasn't very crusty nor was there much Pistachio. Mash is just mash however you serve or describe it. Second, Chicken Parma with a japanese breadcrumb coating and the usual toppings with beer batter chips - overall pretty good. The crust was excellent and the chips and veg were very nice. Third, Barramundi - this for our GF friend and an excellent report on that one. Fourth was a chicken burger which was just an expensive burger - bun and the usual. Fifth - Veal medallions - and these were ok, not spectacular but a pleasant meal.
So overall it wasn't a great dining experience and it wasn't awful but I don't think we'll be rushing back for our next birthday celebration. (And we only got the chicken burger for free - the cheapest thing on the menu!)
They are happy to split the bill but this meant when we were paying I had to wait about 10 minutes while a table of 8 paid separately for their food. That didn't help the overall impression either!

I've been to this restaurant before so was looking forward to a good meal. However it wasn't has good as usual. The restaurant as 2 sittings: 6.30 & 8.00. We were booked for the 6.30 and got there about 6.35. Our orders were taken at about 6.45 and even then we had to catch the waiter's eye. There were 6 of us so we had 2 servings of the spring rolls for an entree and ordered 4 mains and rice. The entree came fairly quickly and was really good. About 10 minutes after we finished that we got some rice and one main - a chicken curry - which was quite tasty. We consumed that in a short time and waited ... and waited ... and waited for the next 3 dishes. By now it was about 7 20 and the waiter came and told us they were having some difficulties getting the food upstairs - something to do with the lift. Eventually the next 3 dishes arrived. We asked for fresh rice as the last lot had gone cold and this was given. The other dishes were ok. Vegetables were lovely and fresh but overall the flavours were bland and not very interesting. The waiter took our coffee and dessert order just before 8 (we'd eaten the mains quickly!) but after waiting a few minutes we were told we had to leave because it was 8 o'clock. We did mention that we'd waited ages for our meals but it made no difference. No coffee, no dessert ... not happy! I think they could have a contingency plan for such situations - it'll be along time before we go back there.

We chose 4 different dishes from the All day breakfast menu - all were very tasty with fresh ingredients and generous servings. We had BLT on dark rye - great but difficult to eat with the 3 layers; Jumping beans - excellent; Vege pizza - excellent and very large! The only downside was my friend who had the smoked salmon and poached eggs found a hair in her food. We told the waiter who when he saw it on the side of her plate tried to suggest that it had blown in thru the door! No discount was offered. They did offer to replace it but by then she was nearly finished so couldn't be bothered making a fuss. I'd have given the place a higher ratng if the waiter had apologised but he didn't seem to care.

This is a very friendly restaurant in downtown Bayswater. The food is fresh, the service is fairly prompt and overall it is a pleasant place for a meal - either a quick meal before heading out or a place to linger and enjoy the company of friends. We shared 2 dishes - a vege one and a chicken curry with rice. Both were delicious, fresh and there was plenty of it. Definitely a return visit is on the cards.
