Fantastic! This was an excellent place for a meal and a drink before a movie. The service was really good - all the waiting people were friendly and happy and obviously enjoyed their work. There was an extensive menu with everything from light meals to pasta and risotto to a good variety of mains. The wine menu was good too - nice choice of the usual at reasonable prices. And when the meals came they were very generous. We thought that we could have shared a main and had a couple of the entrees instead ... maybe next time! I had Lamb kebabs which were delicious - nicely cooked and very tender, with a greek salad and lovely crispy chips; my friend had calamari - heaps! with chips and vegetables. Certainly worth another visit.

Wanted a quick meal after doing a bit of shopping and on our way to a local concert - thought we'd try Poppy's - good choice! The service was speedy, waiters were friendly and helpful and the food very tasty. We shared a couple of basic mains - a not too spicy vegetarian tofu and all sorts of veg in a green curry - called Ana and the King; and a satay chicken and veg stir fry - yum! Small rice and we were out of there for around $40 feeling well-fed. Have booked again in a month with a few more friends this time - will get to try a few more dishes!

I can only describe this place as OK. It was all very average - service was all right but not great; menu was the usual for a basic restaurant and the food was cooked well and presented ok. There was a problem with the aircon - our group was under a fan blowing on us which was quite unpleasant and the blinds didn't block the sun very well which meant it was in my eyes for some of the time. Again it wasn't terrible - just not really a fun place to go!

We went here because we had an entertainment book voucher - always good to try new places. Wagamama didn't disappoint. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonably priced. I had a teriyaki chicken salad which had a really tasty dressing and some crunchy sweet potato chips as a side. One of my friends had a bento box with chicken gyoza and various salad veges - including some interesting peas - which we all shared. Another who has to have gluten free food had a rice dish with lots of different vegies and meats. This, and the Bento box, also came with Miso soup. We had green tea with the meals which was also very nice - quite a nutty flavour. Even without the discount voucher it would have been a very reasonable cost. Its a place I would go back to - lots more things on the menu to try!

I've been to this place a few times and it is usually really good. The serves are generous - in fact I usually get the Senior's Chicken parma because it is half the size of the normal one - and when I got that one I took half of it home for lunch the next day! I've found the service to be quick and the waiters helpful. I've been here for lunch - had small meal and snacky things as well as for an evening meal. Always a good feed and great value for money.

I've eaten here twice in the last month and each time the food was fresh and tasty - and very generous serves. The first time was for brunch; the second time lunch. Each time the service was quick and helpful and we didn't have to wait long for anything. One of the group had to have gluten free meals and this was catered for too - there was plenty of choice. Would certainly go again - highly recommended.

I've been to the Basil Leaf a few times and have tried lots of the dishes. The majority have been excellent - always fresh ingredients and each dish has its own distinctive flavour - not like some places where every dish seems to taste the same. The last couple of times we've asked the owner to choose some dishes for us - and we have had some beauties! You can also get a mix of entrees which are really good. The prices are reasonable - although we did get charged $2 each for corkage last time which added $8 to the bottle of wine we bought at the shop down the road. However the meal was great so we weren't too stressed about that - and we'll know for next time!

Excellent pizzas here! Lotsa topping - all fresh and a generous handful or two of the necessaries. We usually get the Mediterranean Family size which has lots of cheese, salami, olives and fetta on it. Although it is busy on a Friday it usually only takes between 20 - 30 minutes from phone call to pick up. Not the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for. (And there's chocolate mousse and lemon, baci and other flavoured sorbets in the freezer for dessert too!)

We had a very pleasant Friday evening's dining and entertainment at this cosy restaurant in Upwey. Although the menu was small the food was very tasty and there was plenty of it. I had a chicken pie with salad and chips. The only complaint was that the chips were somewhat on the less than crunchy side - in fact very pale indeed! The pie was excellent and sooo large! Enough for two if you only want a small meal. My friend had the calamari which again was tasty and tender. Live entertainment that evening was a band of young musicians who played very well with a varied repertoire from the Arctic Monkeys to the Beatles - something for everyone! Definitely worth another visit.

Dropped in here for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon just before they closed. One of our group was a gluten-free person and was pleased to find that there was a nice selection of GF cakes available. We shared a Fig and Ginger one which was very tasty and a generous serve. The coffee was very good and the service excellent. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful despite it being the end of a long day and an obviously busy shift for them.
