This review is for Centrepoint Apartments, Caloundra QLD

These apartments have location, location, locations but are slowly getting built out and losing their views. The pool has had some shade cover put over it in recent years which is great. BBQ and pool facilities are very good. The staff at the front reception are friendly and helpful. Computer in the reception (pay as you go) provides easy internet access. Starting to look like it needs a facelift, but great location.

We have been renting our holiday unit through this company for more than 6 years and have recommended countless friends to them. Friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you work out where you want to stay. There is a frequent stayer program which is offered after 3 or 4 stay (I forget how many). The staff are most helpful with anything going on in the town and surrounds. Can't recommend them highly enough.

This review is for Caloundra RSL Club, Caloundra QLD

We went for a night out to the RSL with a large group of friends. Positives were that we could all order and pay separately, fast meals already prepared for the kids, and more gourmet meals that adults could wait for. A great kids club (but very slow service to get in and out of). The show was the Dean Vegas show - most of the entertainment is high energy and involves the audience. Heaps of parking. Great night out.

Luckily the view and the service were great, or this rating would have been lower. The meals are plentiful and fresh, but the steak I had was very fatty and not cooked as requested. The kids fare is very standard - the usual chicken nuggets, fish and chips, etc. Wine list is nothing special. The views are spectacular - out to the Tidal Pool and the water fountains. Friendly service, prices are reasonable.

This review is for McCall's Bakery, Caloundra QLD

The baker was friendly, some of the staff let his store down. A good range of bread and cakes, with pies, etc as per most bakeries. A few tables to sit and eat, and a great location in the main street of Caloundra.

This review is for Shingle Inn, Caloundra, Caloundra QLD

This Shingle Inn was new to Caloundra this year - the chain appears to be expanding. They are quite souless compared to the old shop in the city, but the food remains the same. The cakes were nice but a little dry but the coffee was great. The young man who served us was exceptionally nice and family friendly. Chain business, not a special business any more I'm afraid.

This review is for Allo Allo French Tea Rooms, Flaxton QLD

Great little cafe nestled into a garden centre and beside Le Relais Bressan. Serving up lunchtime baguettes and croissants. The best selection of cakes you will see outside Ackland Street in Melbourne. All desserts are homemade and the smoked salmon is to die for (made by the French chef next door in the restaurant). Rich and sinful, but oh so tasty!

Wow! What a hidden treasure. Just past Montville (heading to Nambour) and you come across this lovely French restaurant. Tucked next to a Garden Centre and cafe (also reviewed!), is a classic French restaurant with all the expected fare and more. There are very reasonable lunch and dinner specials, or you can order off the menu. Friendly service and fantastic food.

This review is for Jerome's Italian Family Restaurant, Caloundra QLD

The food at this restaurant is exceptional - every time we go on holidays we eat here. Sadly the service can sometimes let you down, but the food never disappoints. Traditional Italian fare served in style. They have great mid week specials as well.

I was very disappointed with this business - ate for dinner on a night when we were up on holidays. The service was appalling. Some of the waitresses are obviously very young daughters of the owners - the owner was cranky and appeared overworked and unenthusiastic. This place was packed out but after eating our meal and having bad service, we were left to wonder why. The owner grudgingly took our Entertainment Book voucher and then revoked all meal specials which meant we paid much the same anyway (which was not super cheap anyway). I would not recommend.
